  1. :iagree: Instead of weight or with it track your inches. It really makes you feel better when soemthing is happening and it normally always shows through inches. Good luck and keep up the good work.
  2. One of the signs of Wilson's Sydrome is a lower body temp. The slightly difficult part with Wilson's is that it can vary in the body, so times of stress can cause "outbreaks" that need treatment and other times where you will be fine. I felt so much better after taking T3meds, compounded as a ointment. Good luck.
  3. We have some clients at work who have gotten some(I think 5 now) from this breeder Indian Creek Bengals (PA) that the pp mentioned. Happy hunting.
  4. My husband and children went to it at the beginning of the month and LOVED it. They are still singing some of the songs. My 9 year old always enjoys these sort of shows though. I quizzed her when she came home and she really did get quite a bit of real as well as fun info from it. My 4 year old enjoyed the singing a lot but did not get all of the info put out so he had a few questions but drew pictures about the show for 3 days straight. We also just saw the Freedom Train yesterday. Another very well done show by them. For the price I felt it was completely worth going.
  5. I had it done when I was 20 years old(1998). It was my graduation present from college as I was still covere dunder my parents insurance.:) Best decision ever, although i really wanted to be much smaller and the doc just would not do it. I had almost 8 lbs taken of breast tissue. I was 108 lbs at the time of surgery and 5'3" tall. I was very physically fit and looked like a crazy Dolly Parton. The surgery was longggggg, almost 12 hours but I was home the next day and never even filled my script of pain meds. I have pretty extensive scarring but what do i care what scars are on my boobs. I went hiking, flew to Montanta to visit my grandmother, and had a nice vacation(no work for 1 month) but was told numerous times that I was very lucky in not experiencing difficulty. Before surgery I was large. 44DD with scars to show my doc from bleeding. I actually had surgery to pull the bra straps out of my skin , TWICE when i was a teen. Darn softball. Afterwards I was a 36-38C. I was unable to breastfeed my daughter as I got married only a few months after surgery and pregnant only a short time thereafter:tongue_smilie:, I was able to pump about 4 ounces of milk a day for almost 2 months though. I had my son in 2004 and breastfed him completely until he was 18 months old(the the flood hit so emergency weaning of feeding). During my first pregnancy, my breasts did not grow at all, during my son's they grew a bit and now I am still up to a 40D. Any questions just ask. I never regret it at all. Best thing that I did for myself was making sure I had that surgery. Good luck.
  6. Look up Wilson's Syndrome(not disease) and see if you find any connecting issues. Hope you figure things out. I have a badly fluctuating thyroid issue and it is horrible.
  7. Sorry for cutting and and please do not take this in a mean way but it drives my husband crazy if I do not mention it. ( I hate having to write that as I always feel wrong right away) Irregardless is not "always' considered a proper word and there is much controversy over it. I posted a little tidbit about it below if you are interested. Again, mainly I am writing it because my hubby has it drilled into my brain about it.:tongue_smilie: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/irregardless As for staying on topic, I am always more inclined to teach the subjects that I enjoy. I do drudge through certain others anyway but we do focus heavily on life sciences in my house and history, languages and reading. We get the rest done but unless hubby is pushing for something specific(he normally does it then for me) then I do not stress over it.
  8. It could be that she has developed allergies. Any discharge from the nose, wheeping around the eyes? If it continues or you have a odd colored discharge then I would have an exam done otherwise you could get away with a watch and see. Good luck.
  9. It really was hilarous. Even without the rum.:001_smile:
  10. Well, endocrinoglists specialize in the endocrine system so the tests that she recommend are in line with that. Who referred you to her? Do you have another doc who has any idea of what is going on? What about a rheumatologist? A speciality hospital might be the way to go to try and find out what is occurring. Good luck and best wishes.
  11. We use both but I do not have a prepared written schedule. We do a lot of history daily. Sorry.
  12. We do daily at least 1 hour at bedtime. That is an always kind of thing. We have always done that . My daughter is 9 and my son is 4. We also will read together during the day whenever we can. I rather ingore dishes and laundry and read to the children anytime.:tongue_smilie:
  13. Def. We use it and have some really great weeds right now. i cannot wait to get those out and start prepping again. The soil is supperb.
  14. I would recommend checking out the first year Rabbit 4-H program called "What's Hoppening". It goes into great detail cages and sizes, food, care, personality, breeds, etc. It is a great way for your child to really learn a lot about the care of rabbits. With that said it depends on what you want the rabbit for. The larger sizes tend to be more laid back but mini rex are smaller sizes, easy to find and tend to be very sweet. Just lilke other critters though each one will have their own unique personalities, somedays crabby and want nothing to do with you and other days they want a lot of attention. We have 3 and their cage set ups are in our dining room. For my daughters male, he has 2 safeguard cages put together so he has some extra room while in the cage. Our 2 females are on top one another with 1 being in the double Ferret Nation cage(very easy to clean and to handle the bunnies from) with the other female being in a large safeguard cage. 2 bunnies are completely litterbox trained but my female only pees in the litterboxes. They need toys, but you need to make sure they are safe. We also give ours 3 sided wooden hiding boxes for private time if they want it. Plus they can chew them up and are easy to clean. You need to brush the bunnies, give good food and fresh water daily, we give timothy hay daily and that is where the biggest mess comes from. There is hay everywhere. We clean the litterboxes twice a day(cause they are in the dining room) and clean the whole cage weekly. We have a puppy play yard that we divide up into sections and let the rabbits out into each section to strech ttheir legs. We set up a small obstacle course for them with ramps and tunnels and things that my daughter trained then for in the playyards. If you want to get into rabbit showing, there is a lot involved but ARBA is the group to look into for that. There are many rabbits available for adoption or to buy from breeders. Good luck, We have a lot of fun watching and interacting with our rabbits. My daughters male is a love but does not LIKE to be held at all. Otherwise he is the best rabbit ever. He will be 6 this year. Our females will be 1 year in June and 1 is a sweet heart and the other tends to get very cage protective and crabby. So different personalities are very apparent between them. Let me know if you would like pictures of our cages or rabbits and I can send those to you. Or I should say my daughter will as she is very proud of her bunnies.:)
  15. My children do love the Redwall series but we have met many who have a hard time with the speech. We LOVE it and always aruge who gets to read in mole language today.:) Some of Tolkiens short stories, Farmer Giles and others that I cannnot remember the names and the books are upstairs right now:tongue_smilie:. Lloyd Alexanders The Chronicles of Prydain. We have not finished the series but she is on the 3rd and likes those. Most of the books by Eva Ibbotson are hilarious and were very well received by my daughter. i did preread all of those and I did hold some back but cannot remember which ones right now. THose are just some off the top of my head that are fluff fiction. Good luck.
  16. We lost our home in a flash flood in 2006. THe children, pets and myself moved in with my parents, my brother and his girlfriend in their tiny 3 bedroom old farmhouse that now had 5 dogs that did not like each other, 3 cats who did not like each other and 9 birds who were ALL in seperate cages and 1 fish tank. We were able to save only our shelf on Anciet Egypt so we studied Egypt happily for 5 months.:) It was rough but worke dout well for us as it gave us time to spend with my grandparents but we really missed hubby/daddy. Then my daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes a 3 months after the flood and that floored me worse. So, it has happended. You will get through it. We had less than 2 minutes before our property and house and cars were totaled so no preparing on our parts helped. The creek has gotten blocked way at the top from othe people and no one new it was happening until too late. Know and have your important papers ready and all of the fine print to go along with it. We received no help from anyone except my parents, other family , the red cross for diapers and immiedet clothes and when we were trying to get a new house elsewhere we did get a SBA loan(low interest rate disaster loan). Fema did not help us and we had flood insurance so we were supposed to get aid form that but that is a whole nother topic:mad:. Good luck and if you have any questions let me know.
  17. It really depends on your state laws. In PA we have a local AI plant that is mainly run by technicians with an overseeing vet. The technicians do all of the AI's, husbandry, everything. So, it could certainly work that way. Also, if that is what he is interested in then I would go for it. However, if he is interested in vet school vs. technicians then I would still go for that as both fields really are quite different. My school in PA did have a semester of training on this for horses and cows BUT as I said we had a local, professional clinic to use for this so we all rotated there for ~ 2 months. Wish him luck.
  18. What does she like or is interested in? What about the Magic Tree House Books? If it was something that she was intereste din you could even get her the research guide to go along with it. They cover so many different topics. Good luck.
  19. Well carb wise it is ~ 108 grams.:tongue_smilie: We tried this the other day, I did not having baking cocoa so we used hot cocoa mix instead. The kids LOVED it. :001_smile: My m-i-l tried it also and DID NOT use the choc. chips and she said it was really, really dry. She wants to try it again with the chips but she did not like it. It gave me a headache. The kids and I made one and split it 3 ways and the kids enjoyed it so much we actually took pictures of them eating it. So, we are going to try and experiment around with this more.
  20. We "tried" Learnables at one of the hs conferences and had a horrible time understanding waht was being said and how it related to pictures so we chose not to go with them. We did go with Power glide for very young. My children enjoy the simplicity of it but it does not really teach much but does get them used to hearing some of it. I cannot even think about afforidng Rosetta Stone so other then trying there free demo cannot help there. We do use LIVEMOCHA.com and enjoy that. It gives quizzes for writing, hearing, seeing and if you have audio hookup can even do voice. It is free and that is really nice. Otherwise I sort of made my own. We do fairy tale story translations, Teach Me German and Teach Me More German as my children love to sing and those are fairly cheap. I am interested in some others opinions of this as well.
  21. water balloon fights, day hikes, snorkeling in the lake off the top of my head.
  22. Truly for us it is whichever pictures my children like the best and the price is good;). My children both love to color so I allow them to choose whichever they like.
  23. My daughter memorized it quickly, about 3 days BUT it was because she wanted to. I would probaly go with 2-3 weeks (at the longest)for their age bracket She can quote her favorite authors exactly but ask her to memorize something that she does not feel is necessary and she balks. :tongue_smilie: Good luck.
