  1. I'm in a book funk. Nothing "tastes" right. I want something fun, fast paced and witty. Like The Rook. Any recommendations? :bigear:
  2. Do you have any homeschooling groups on Facebook or message board? I would announce the yard sale there first. I've gone to a few local yard sales like that - things were selling fast!
  3. Me. My husband contributes by making an occasional PB&J or picking up something from a nearby restaurant.
  4. Interesting question. I feel I'm the best wife I could be for my husband. I'm pretty sure he agrees with me.
  5. I watched that one a couple of years ago. The story's stayed with me. Definitely worth watching.
  6. I knew it!!! This is what I have in our bathroom, btw. ;)
  7. My husband used them when he was horribly congested. They helped with breathing, but irritated his skin - something in the adhesive.
  8. Sometimes I have sweet chili sauce with fries. :thumbup1:
  9. Who's pulling your strings? I know I can't be alone in this, so just wanted to share. Practical, step by step advice, scenarios etc. A must read!
  10. :grouphug: You can do it! Be patient with yourself.
  11. Oh, no... :crying:

I have an accent but no one ever can pinpoint me. It's a lot of fun to have a guessing game! :tongue_smilie:
  13. Pho! I'm trying to make broth as good tasting as at our local place. I have a sneaky suspicion that they add a lot of sugar to theirs. :toetap05:
  14. Thank you all for your responses! This is really interesting to me. I grew up in a Muslim country, where wearing short shorts or skirts, let alone bikini, was considered inappropriate- so I've never thought of doing that. I'm still learning local customs and was wondering if this was something just in California or in other states too.
  15. During any sunny day, which we have plenty here in Central California, our neighborhood's teenage girls don a microscopic bikini and sunbathe on their front lawn. Is this a widespread occurrence or it's just our neighborhood? I'm curious.
  16. I would recommend reading this. And I totally agree with PeacefulChaos:
  17. Amy, I think so. There's quite a bit of romance, but it's very timid/innocent. I think it would spark some good discussions (standing up for yourself, finding your way, bullying- to name a few).
  18. Hi, guys! I thought I'd pop by and say hello. I haven't been reading much lately - extended family problems are taking up all my time, but I did manage to read The Blue Castle by L.M. Montgomery on Kindle. What a sweet little story, thank you, whoever mentioned it in one of the BAW threads! I downloaded Emily of New Moon trilogy as well. I guess I'm in the mood for sweet, innocent stories, where evil is always defeated and love wins every time.
  19. I don't know how to help you with the pots and pans clean-up - I usually just wash them as soon as I finished using them. Our kitchen is very small with just 2 spots of the counter space available. With glasses though, I came up with something that works! Each kid chooses their color of rubber band in the morning and puts it on their glass for the day. We drink water only, so it works great! If I forget to remind them, we have a sink full of glasses by the end of the day.
  20. Huh, I saw somewhere it was $23...
