  1. I don't like it so much. It does some like a pet name. I like Chloe better.
  2. I thought Wagner's skating was very good, but that little Russian girl was truly amazing! My dd and I were just slack jawed at that last twirly thing she did. As far as Wagner's attitude.... at least pretend to be modest and humble. Good grief! I'm crushing on the snowboarders myself!
  3. Lazy Saturday afternoon. Got most of my work done. Now just folding laundry and watching speed skating.
  4. Hi Ladies, It's a relaxing Saturday here. Slept in a little. Had a nice cuppa joe and then made breakfast and took 4 kids with me to Walmart. Somehow it's less chaotic, even with only one less child. This afternoon: - clean up kitchen - work on Children,s Church curriculum -work on budget stuff - fold laundry -watch Olympics (which I may do while I'm folding laundry) Jean, hope you feel better. Glad you got a good night's sleep last night! Amy, good to see your post. Take care of yourself during this time of grieving. We're continuing to pray for your family.
  5. I am enjoying it. However, the American sweaters are just down right hideous!
  6. I don't let my boys wrestle with their sisters or any other girls. There may not be anything inappropriate at a young age, but I just don't want them to even start. But that's just me.
  7. Oh mercy, I'm so glad other people's children are like that. My kids do exactly the same thing. They bug eachother and bug eachother and bug eachother all day, every day. And they try to drag me into the middle of it. And I cannot get away from them. They won't leave me alone. I tell my daughter,"I'm not listening to you" as I put my fingers in my ears and walk away from her and she follows me, complaining about every little thing that has recently been done to her.
  8. Well, dinner is over. The kids are watching Shrek. I think that's one of the few kids' movies that can truly amuse me. I love it! Got everything done today, but I am beat. I just feel stressed out all the time. Sometimes I think that's been affecting my ability to lose weight. Does anyone else feel that way? I don't know what it is exactly, but it just feel .... like my life has me in a stranglehold.
  9. Bring a book, some knitting, texting, bills to pay..... I'm sorry! I feel for you. Sort of. I've been to kids' birthday parties where I didn't really want to be, but fortunately they have all been at venues where they give you 2 hours and then kick you out.
  10. Morning Girls, Jean, will continue to pray for you! Tress, will pray for you, too. There's been a lot of conflict around here, too. I'd like to know what a "Happy Mama" is. And on-going prayers for Amy and her family. Wow! Lots to pray for this morning! Well, got my morning constitutional completed this morning. Got a nice bit of rain yesterday and they're predicting more. ** school this morning - Verse quiz, spelling test, health, literature, writing, math, science and Latin(for the boys) ** co-op this afternoon. Starting my rocketry class. ** ds9 starts guitar lessons this afternoon ** DS 10 has basketball practice tonight Have a good day, everyone,
  11. We do it pretty much as instructed. It works well for us! It's my second go round now, with my daughter and she seems to like it well enough. Not as much as my boys did, though!
  12. Take it easy, Jean. Don't push yourself. I know, easier said than done! Well, school is done! Kitchen is almost cleaned up! Dropped dd off at Kingdom Kids Had a few more late RSVPs to rocketry class, so I need to prepare for them! Picked up extra kid #1 from bus stop. The school district makes you meet the kindergarteners at the bus. :(
  13. Well.... it's been a few years, but I have been to a few birthday parties there and although it's not my favorite place in the world, I don't think it's that a awful. Granted, we only stay a couple of hours, but.... in our town the ER is much worse.
  14. Hello! It'll a little after 11:00am PST. Got quite a bit of school done, but the best part of the day is the rain! The hills were so brown, the poor cattle had nothing to eat, no rain for spring wildflowers, but now, looks like we'll have some grass and wildflowers. It's not drought breaker, and the politics around here are ugly because of the water problems, esp. with the environmentalists. They cause the most problems! But, at least the grasses and trees are getting a drink right now and there is some snow in the mountains. School is on it's way to getting done, the kids are reasonably cooperative today. Gotta think of something for lunch! Have a good rest of your day everyone!
  15. Good morning my cyber-friends! Hope you are all bright-eyed and bushy tailed this morning. I got up this morning excited (or telling myself I was excited) for my morning constitutional, walked out the door and it was raining. Usually I can hear the rain in the rain gutters before I get out of bed, but apparently not this time. So, I did some stretching and resistance band exercises and called it good. So, here I am with my coffee, Bible and devotional in a quiet house. It's a good thing. On the docket for the day.... ** school ** finish plans for Rocketry class at co-op ** babysit friend's boys this afternoon, while she and her dh go meet/bring home their new fost-adopt daughter. They've very excited. I saw a picture and she's got a sweet smile, both on her lips and in her eyes, so I think it's going to work out. Praying about the meeting this morning. And I bought her a "Fancy Nancy" book, as this is their only girl. ** dd7 has Kingdom Kids this afternoon ** dinner at my parents' house this evening Have a good day, ladies!
  16. We are reading "The Mysterious Benedict Society" from a recommendation here, and we are loving it. Great book!
  17. I don't like outdoor play, but then again.... I don't play with my kids. They play with each other and the neighbors outside. If my child is too young to be in the front by herself, then she can play in our fenced in back yard. I don't mind being outside. I like yardwork, I like hiking. Maybe it's not outdoors that I don't like, maybe I just don't like playing with my kids.
  18. Morning Ladies, I'm in my usual spot to begin my day - kitchen table with my coffee, Bible and devotional. Gotta check in with you gals first, though! ** school today. I've been trying to do art on Wednesdays, so here we go. It's Wednesday. ** work more on co-op plans ** kids have Awana I'm just worn out emotionally. Nothing major or traumatic, but... my oldest had an issue with a neighbor kid, which we worked out, but it was difficult. My second is starting guitar lessons and he's very anxious, and when he's anxious we all pay for it. My baby, I love her to death, but she shadows me all day. I know this is typical, I know all about that, but I am an introvert and she is a bright shining extrovert who loves Mommy and it is very hard for me to keep up a running stream of conversation all day, and then I feel guilty because.... it is hard and I should be loving these times because tomorrow I'm going to wake up and it'll be her wedding day and I'll never see her again. And sometimes I just wish she'd go paint, or play with her dolls or something. Well, hope you all have a great day. Jean, how are you feeling? Amy, you're in my prayers!
  19. Well, I like A Beka's kindergarten program. That's really the only thing of theirs I buy complete. I tend to get away from A Beka as the kids get older but I love their kinder stuff. Although it's pretty Christian. If she's interested, A Beka always has their curriculum "fairs" in the spring in larger cities. They are very low-pressure and you can finger through all the curriculum.
  20. No! I am a creationist (haven't decided really about the young earth/old earth thing), but I take offense at Ken Ham's dogmatism. And like has been said before, it's not going to change anyone's mind. Do debates like this change people's minds? Or maybe that's not the point of the debate.
  21. Morning Girlies! Well, my peaceful quiet time has been invaded by my 3 year old, but I gave her some "Yucky" Charms and she's pretty happy. On the docket for the day... ** devotions and breakfast ** school ** work on plans for rocketry class for co-op ** the never ending pile of dirty laundry ** dd7 has tumbling class ** dd10 has basketball game tonight Have a great day all!
  22. Amy, I am so sorry! Will continue to keep your family in my prayers! Jean - hope this one does the trick! Well, it's the end of the day. I keep hoping the kitchen fairy would sweep in and do the dishes and the floor, but she never does. Guess I'll have to do it myself. Little girls will have baths and go to bed in a few minutes.
