  1. When my nice was little we told her that there was a "binky fairy" that came and took pacifiers to give to new babies and that when it was time for the fairy to take the pacifiers they would leave a special basket and we had to gather them all and put them on the front porch and the next day the pacifiers would be gone but a special present would be left for her. It worked wonderfully. Ds is always afraid that there are monsters in his room. I bought an all natural lavender room spray and called it "monster spray." If its a rough day I not only spray his room but his clothes and bed too. About 10 minutes after our "monster extermination" he is asleep. DD had to have her own spray so hers is rosemary and lemon.
  2. There is usually about 3-4 weeks of food between the pantry and freezer. I also have dehydrated food storage that would probably last us another 4-5 months. We live in a rural area and have enough land that we could go veggies but do not because we just don't have the time.
  3. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: Both my babies were NICU babies. Sending lots of hugs.
  4. For people like Joe I just smile and repeat "how very pleasant for you." It ends conversations quickly. :sneaky2:
  5. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: I understand. I used to love to hear that if I would just quit tube feeding ds that he would "just start eating" or if I would just change his diet to the fad of the week he would be cured.
  6. I have stopped using the large chain pharmacies for this reason. We now go to a small pharmacy with a pharmacist that will flag any orders that are not within the norm. Depending on the relationship you have with your pharmacy I would start there to see if what you are prescribed is a normal dose and to also make sure that the prescription was filled correctly. Then I would contact the doctor to clarify the dosage.
  7. My body will allow me to sleep in. The children do not.
  8. A thank you note and small plant would be nice.

  11. I completely understand why some people don't have insurance. Dh and I both work full time here are our insurance choices: 1) premiums are $250/mo. High deductible plan. The deductible is $6000 then once that is met we have to pay 20% of everything after the $6000. Has more of our doctors in network. 2) premiums are $795/mo. Another high deductible plan with the deductible is $5500 after that there are some additional co-pays. Network much more limited. After much calculation we decided to go with the first plan. I would not really consider either plan affordable but plan one is the lesser of two evils. At one time we had both coverages when ds was younger and his health was not as good. Neither plan will cover any of ds tube feeding supplies ($3500/mo.) and when he was on oxygen ($900/mo) they did not cover that either and as a result we had to apply for Medicaid just for those. I was never so happy when he was able to get off oxygen and started eating. Then we were able to drop down to just one insurance plan instead of 3.
