  1. I forgot to post my best good news! My nephew had a terrible car accident. For awhile, we were worried he wouldn't make it. We also worried he might be paralyzed or have brain trauma. I am delighted to say that he is expected to make a full recovery. He has several broken bones and a long recovery, but praise God he will recover. He is a great responsible kid so I really struggled that he had to go through such a terrible ordeal. Suzanne
  2. I just got back my 12 year old daughter's Stanford 10 Achievement test results. She did great. The man from our Umbrella school told her that very few students will have scores that great! I know she is smart and works hard, but it was still nice. She also made the dance team at a new studio. The dance team was a big deal. We moved recently and she had to leave her beloved dance studio. Making the team at this studio really helps!! We were driving 45 minutes one way two nights a week. The new studio is 10 minutes from home! Suzanne
  3. I'm so sorry for your loss. I will pray for you, your daughter and your family. Suzanne
  4. I really like Athleta swimsuits. They hold up really well and they have a good variety to pick from. Suzanne
  5. I am so very sorry. I will pray for you and your family. Suzanne
  6. I'm so sorry. It is so hard. Prayers for you and your family. Suzanne
  7. I have owned several pottery barn quilts through the years. They have all been very well made and held up wonderfully. I used to wash our quilt a lot because the dog slept on our bed and their quilts held up to it. I don't know if it is worth it to you or not. For me, it was worth it. I have also found good quality children's bedding at Land of Nod, but they are expensive too. We tried Company Kids one year and they quality was not the same at all and it wasn't that much cheaper. I'm not sure about Target. They have some really cute designs, but I don't know how well they hold up. I am in the process of redoing both of my girls rooms because we just moved to a new house. One of them chose bedding from Pottery Barn Teen and the other one chose bedding from Land of Nod. It was really expensive, but I think it will all hold up well. We plan to paint their rooms in a coordinating color and I didn't want to take the chance on cheaper bedding not holding up. Suzanne
  8. I have a funny story to tell about a pet sleeping in the bed. I grew up with a 5 pound toy poodle. He was with me as much as possible and slept with me under the covers. When I got married, he was really jealous of my husband. At first, he would climb up and sleep on my husband's head. He didn't want my husband there at all. They grew to love each other and he went back to sleeping curled up against my stomach. Suzanne
  9. That is awesome! My father battle alcoholism most of his life. At times, it was heartbreaking. Congratulations on your success! Suzanne
  10. I used to and I still miss it. I slept with a 45 lb standard poodle and she hogged the bed. My 50 lb male used to visit, but he would get down to sleep. Our current poodle has problems with getting excited and peeing everywhere so I don't dare let her on the bed. Suzanne
  11. I'm so sorry. Having to euthanize a pet is heartbreaking. We just went through this in December. I would have been upset to have to wait too. Suzanne
  12. Our house is brown brick with a concrete foundation. We have a small amount of brown painted wood on this sides. and we have a shingled roof. We just moved here in late February. Suzanne
  13. I would not buy a one of their dishwashers. We moved to a new house in late February with a Frigidaire dishwasher. It was terrible. It didn't dry the dishes at all and you couldn't put much into it. It was also loud. My husband found a Whirlpool on sale and had it replaced. I knew I liked the Whirlpool because we had one in our last house. The person who installed the new Whirlpool even commented on the quality of the Frigidaire dishwashers. Suzanne
  14. I am so very sorry for your terrible loss. Suzanne
  15. That is awesome. My daughter used to be pretty active in theater. I think it is an amazing thing you are trying to do! Suzanne
  16. Merrel shoes are very comfortable. I wore them last time I was at Disney. I bought one of the pairs that dry fast because we love the water rides. Suzanne
  17. I love mine. I haven't ever been able to wear sunglasses because they give me a headache. The transition lenses don't bother me at all and they really help. Mine do work in the car. Suzanne
  18. I would try to make time to spend with her. I live 2 hours away from my mom. I try to see her at least once a month. We talk on the phone almost every day. I still wish I could see her even more. She is precious and since she is getting older, I don't want to take spending time with her for granted. I lost my father in 2006 and I would give anything to be able to spend time with him again. I totally understand about the drive. I don't like to drive either. Suzanne
  19. Right now, we have on Standard Poodle - Her name is Clementine. We sometimes call her Clemmy. We still miss my first two standard poodles - Madeline and Maurice. Madeline didn't have a nick name, but we usually called Maurice - Reese. Suzanne
  20. I was so touched by her story. I would love to send her a card. Please message me her address.
  21. Thanks Scott. I will take a look and see if I can find it. Suzanne
  22. I bought the lit program from Kolbe last year. We started in slowly this year - my daughter is only in sixth grade. We have enjoyed it and I like that there are plenty of books to choose from. We are not Catholic, but it hasn't been a problem at all. There is a section that we will not use, but there are way too many books to cover all of them anyway. Suzanne
  23. Thank you. I will take a look. I have read a little about these math courses on this board, but I haven't really looked into. We usually do some supplemental math in the summer so it might work for that.
  24. Thank you both for your input. I am really reluctant to switch to a different math curriculum. I don't want her to have gaps in her math knowledge. I know a lot of people who switched around and regretted it. I don't think she will like any math curriculum and that is okay. I don't like math either. Luckily, my husband loves it and is available for support. I do think math is boring for her, but I don't think the math is too easy.. I think I will probably go ahead with Saxon 1/2, but I have a little more time before I need to decide. We have about 20 lessons left in Saxon 8/7. Thanks again for your input. It is really helpful. Suzanne
