  1. Chili..it's freezing here so it'll be perfect!
  2. My FIL does that. For real.
  3. My grandmas cookie jar. She moved and gave it to me and I love it! Every time I look at it I have such fond memories of making cookies with her and getting cookies out of the cookie jar. It doesn't even match my kitchen but I really don't care!
  4. I've lived in Texas for 7 years and I still think the people (not all but for the most part) here are strange. I don't understand people that say they feel betrayed by their parents because their parents did the whole Santa Claus thing. Seriously? I think Bacon is disgusting!
  5. I would have asked my DH to change if I didn't like what he was wearing. He would have been happy that I said something because picking clothes is just not something he does well and he knows it!

    Turkey Tales

Hubby smoked our turkey and it was delicious! Hubby actually made our whole dinner since I am on strict bed rest....he did a terrific job!! Does the turkey stay moist if you dry brine it?
  7. My first thought would be to let your dd handle the situation. However, I think I would mention the interest the savvy girl has in the 14 yo boy to his mom. I say that because I have two boys and I would have wanted to know if that had happened when they were 14. One of my boys could have handled the situation but my other son would not have known how to deal with an older girl and I would have wanted to know so I could make sure had the tools necessary to handle that type of situation. So, I wouldn't suggest talking to the savvy girl's parents but I would mention her interest in the boy to his mom.
  8. I have the S3 and love it. I haven't had any problems at all with my phone. The S4 is even better. My FIL has the S4 and it's awesome. I can't wait to upgrade!
  9. When we were in Japan for two years our SUV was in storage. There was no damage to it from sitting for two years and we actually drove it for three more years after we moved back to the states with no problems whatsoever. It was stored in Michigan (Northern Lower Michigan). I definitely think it's a great idea!
  10. I feel the same way about FLL. Does anyone have a secular recommendation to replace FLL 2?
  11. My dd is 6 and hated math. We started with RightStart but dropped that...she hated it. We did Singapore and she liked it at the beginning but she struggled and hated it so much that I felt that I needed to find something else. I picked up Math In Focus and she is half way done with 1B and loves it. It's Singapore but it has different things that she really enjoys. I really wouldn't have chosen MIF if it was up to me but it was the program that clicked with her. I think you just have to find a program that works for your dd. It might not be the program that you would have chosen but if it works it will be worth it!

My dd does. She is obsessed with dogs! She would be thrilled!!
  13. She lives in Michigan. I saw a picture (not a good one) of it's face and it really didn't look like a raccoon at all. They said it was not a raccoon (they saw it pretty close).
  14. My cousin saw this animal but doesn't know what it is. I have no clue. Any ideas?
  15. Just a city boy, born and raised in south Detroit. My hubby loves that song...that part just is annoying to me (Detroit girl here!!).
  16. My second baby was 11lbs 14oz when he was born...no gd...just a big baby. I feel for her!!
  17. I would too. My dd doesn't even like fast food but sometimes the toys are cute! My grandma ends up getting kids meals for herself and giving dd the toy!!
  18. You know what is ridiculous...honestly, who cares if a restaurant is marketing to children. Children do not get to fast food restaurants by themselves...their parents take them and make the purchase. It is the parents choice.
  19. I really don't think it has anything to do with future lawsuits, at all. They are spinning it to make it seem like they are leading the way to getting rid of kids meals. They are getting rid of them because they don't sell. It's a PR stunt. Period.
  20. I would. I go to a restaurant to eat and enjoy myself with my friends/family/whoever I am with....not to hear employees discussing their private lives and complaining about customers. I wouldn't be happy that the conversation was potentially heard by my young children, either. Just because the waitress/employee is tired does not mean they should not have good sense/manners!
  21. Taco Bell will never be edgy! It seems that everyone else knows that except their marketing team! I think that cheap is pretty much the only thing it has going for it. Okay...maybe the mild sauce...but really, cheap is it's niche.
