  1. It really depends on the material. If it's nylon (man-made) you can singe the ends very carefully with a flame. It will melt & not run. The other thing you could do is sew a little seam.
  2. :grouphug: Praying for you, her & the whole family. :grouphug:
  3. :grouphug: So sorry. I think that you need to have a conversation with your DH. If it were my cat, I would put her to sleep. We had to do that with our cat last year when she stopped eating. She was 17 years old and lived a good, long life. Her brother had kidney issues and I think suffered the last few weeks of his life because my DH didn't want to have him put to sleep. He finally relented but I know that he regretted making the cat suffer because of his feelings.
  4. We get the pink mold/mildew in our showers & toilets. :ack2: I just clean it off. Not sure how to prevent it.
  5. My 11 yo makes eggs & pancakes. Always with adult supervision. My 9 yo tries to flip pancakes. :D My trick for lighting the burner is to not have anything on top of it. My DH always has the pot/pan on the burner & it takes him longer to get the burner to light.
  6. Three of mine hated that thing. I always call it "the bucket". :tongue_smilie: Mine were happiest on me in a sling of some sort so they could look around. Nosy buggers. :glare:
  7. I was also going to suggest going up for the blessing. :grouphug:
  8. My mom got a annulment from her marriage with my dad. They had 2 kids together. Like the previous person said, it's not up to you whether she is granted the annulment or not. If you don't feel comfortable filling out the paperwork let her know so she can get someone else. Whatever her motives are, it's up to her & the church. :grouphug:
  9. My MIL always asks me when she's about to send clothes. Even if she has just asked me a month before. :D This last visit, I had to tell her that the older two it depended on the store. My oldest girl wears either 8, 10, or 12 depending on the cut & if it's a top, bottom, or dress. :tongue_smilie:
  10. I agree. Especially when she says this, "I was born in the late 1960s into a believing and practicing Catholic family, and my sister and I were taught by our parents to love our Faith. Barring illness, we attended Sunday Mass and holy days of obligation without exception." I'm just a couple of years younger than her. I went to Catholic school 1-12. We had religion class daily (about half the time taught by priests), weekly mass Friday mornings, monthly confession, etc. I knew all but 1 thing on her list & I'm sure that I heard it though. I left the church for none of the reasons that she talked about. I really dislike when people use generalizations like she did in her post. :tongue_smilie:
  11. My older two are supposed to help their younger sister with karate. Sometimes she cooperates but most of the time she lasts about 15 min before running off.
  12. Same here. Their "love language" is gifts. I don't know what we'll do this year. I knit & crocheted gifts for them in the past & that went over like a lead balloon. :glare: I'm done. We don't have any extra money and I'm not even sure that the kids will be getting anything from us this year. :(
  13. I'm so jealous. We live in a subdivision that doesn't even allow street parking.
  14. 1) Approximately how many bras do you own? 2 that fit well & 2 that I wear only for working out 2) How many days do you wear a bra before washing it? That depends. In the summer or if I've worked out, every day. In the winter, 3-4 days. 3) Do you dry your bras in the dryer or on the line/rack? line dry 4) Do you go for frilly, pretty bras or more basic, practical comfort? basic 5) What brand is your absolute favorite bra? Lane Bryant 6) Have you ever gone somewhere to get fitted? Yes Where? Department store How awkward was it? Less awkward that the OB/GYN :D Were you pressured to buy something there after the fitting? No
  15. CONGRATULATIONS!! I love all that hair! :001_wub:
  16. I can't stand Dr. Seuss books. I have donated all of them that the children have ever received as gifts. :D
  17. I chose other. The youngest wakes me almost every day. :glare: Sometimes it's 5, most of the time it's 6, rarely it's 7.
