  1. BTW, you are definitely not too old to be swooning over a band/celebrity/etc. I don't think one is ever too old for that. :)
  2. Although I am not really a metal fan, they are doing more than thumping on a guitar (or bass) and screaming. They actually know how to play the instruments and many of them are very talented. It is not all my cup of tea, but I recognize they are talented. If you are really interested in hearing someone thumping on a guitar and screaming, I can video my son the next time he does it. I would be surprised if anyone would pay to see and/or listen to that. :) I guess my thing is sports. I am sometimes surprised at the high salaries some athletes are paid just for playing a game. Even if they are very good at it. :)
  3. And I love the word wanker.
  4. No suggestions, but shrimp and grits sounds soooooo good!
  5. The cupcake recipe *could* be posted right here in this thread. Just sayin........
  6. That song is awesome!!! There are people here who I don't agree with. I may get frustrated and/or upset and I may say snarky things in my head or at the computer screen, but I don't think I have ever felt compelled to report a post. Shoot, I get on my son for tattle tailing.
  7. I had to have breast surgery a few years ago. There were doctors and lots of student doctors involved. I felt like everyone in the hospital had seen my boobs. Currently, the a/c is not working. I am sitting here in my bra and shorts waiting to use the shower. Although it is hot in here, my son decided to have a super hot shower and the bathroom is like a sauna, so I'm waiting a bit.
  8. I was once served a warrant through the mail. I had a court date for a ticket (speeding or something like that) and I totally forgot it. I called the next day to tell them that I had forgotten and see what had to be done. I was told I had a warrant out for my arrest and I would have to come to the courthouse and post $100 bond and reschedule my court date. I also received in the mail, not a nice, closed up envelope with the information, but a postcard for everyone to see that I had a warrant out for my arrest. And it went to my mom's house because that was still the address on my driver's license. Plus, my mom had the same mailman for forever and he knew who I was because I lived around the corner. How embarrassing!
  9. Yes, this is what the person who called me said he was! I had forgotten until I saw your post. Thank goodness for Google.
  10. I have received a couple of phone calls like this recently. The first one was 2-4 months ago. I picked up the phone, they asked for me by my maiden name. I replied it was me, but that was not my name anymore. I did not supply any new info. Person on phone told me that I was going to be subpoenaed, IIRC and that papers were going to be served to my address (which I doubt they had) within 48 hours. Person on phone would not tell me what this was in regard so, said I had to call some 1-800 number law office. I do not have any recent debt, but I do have debt that is close to 20 years old. I did not call the law office, I Googled the phone number. The phone number I was given appears to be a scam number, many people had posted about it. I could not find the supposed law office at all. I figured it was some type of bill collector trying to collect on an ancient debt. When bill collectors are trying to collect on older debts, they get the vast majority of the money, only a small part actually goes to the original holder, if any at all. I did some collection work with my boss at one of my old jobs and that was how it worked for us anyways, it may be different if the company actually bought the debt. Anyway, I pretty much forgot about that, then several weeks later I got another call. This time I didn't answer it, but got a voicemail and it was similar in nature. Googled the phone number again and same thing came up. Scam. Some people were posting that these people were calling relative too and work trying to get in touch with them. I don't know if this is the case in your situation. Since you know what it is in regards to, I assume more communication must have happened then what I had. All the posts I've read so far seem to give some good advice.
  11. I was looking at the Kindle Fire, but went with the Samsung Galaxy II (I think!). It's definitely a Samsung Galaxy 8" tablet. Tablets don't have hard drives, just some internal memory which usually is not a lot. It is good for storing music and books, but not so much for movies. I assume that you could download a movie to your computer, then transfer it to your tablet for viewing, then transfer or delete from the tablet so it doesn't use up a good portion of your memory. I download books and music, but stream movies/shows from Netflix. I was really tempted by the Kindle Fire, but the dh wanted me to get a "real" tablet, so that is why I went with the Samsung. I had a $200 budget for it.
  12. I'm from S FL and have been eating Salt and Vinegar chips since probably high school time (I graduated in '89). Also, most places that serve fish and chips will have malt vinegar to put on fries. That is pretty normal in all the areas that I lived in in FL.
  13. When I was growing up, we used to stop here sometimes on our way to/from NC (lived in S FL). My dad liked to pick up some fireworks. :)
  14. I wear a lot of sleeveless and tank tops (it's summertime in Houston!) and none show my bra. If they did show my bra, I wouldn't wear them. Not for modesty's sake, but just because I think it's tacky for my bra strap or bra to be showing. I just don't like that for myself. I was in line behind someone the other night who was wearing a racerback tank, solid in the front, see through lace in the back, with a hot pink non-racerback bra. Definitely tacky in my book. :) I see that a lot though along with people wearing regular bras with dresses and tops with spaghetti straps.
  15. There's a boat on the River Walk too. When I was in San Antonio, that's about all I did. :) River walk, boat ride, Alamo, and the mall that's in the area. Plus eating and walking around that general area. ETA: I was only there for three months on the AFB and had no transportation, so was limited in doing stuff. A friend of mine is from San Antonio and could tell you tons of stuff.
  16. Is this it? Even if it's not, I am impressed with myself that I found it!
  17. I liked your post because I agreed with it. :) I'm the same way.
  18. http://www.atlawblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Jackson-v.-Deen-et-al.-Complaint.pdf I found this to be an interesting read. :)
  19. I agree and have been saying this for years now.
  20. I have not, but I did have anemia due to heavy periods. I eventually ended up in the ER needing a blood transfusion. I had a huge fibroid and I ended up having a hysterectomy. I hope you're able to figure something out, I know how hard it is!
  21. You are not alone. On top of that, when I was reading the OP and baby dolls were mentioned, I thought she wanted to dress up toy dolls for having a tea party. I was way off. Finally I realized what was going on. :hat:
