  1. Well, I just use a regular bookshelf from Ikea for all my books and curriculum books. We don't have a lot of space, so we have 3 1/2 bookshelves (all matching in black from Ikea!) in the living room. My homeschool bookshelf is on it's side b/c we keep our 55 gallon snake aquarium on top of it. Ethan knows not to be messing with any of my books unless I specifically tell him to. He has his own bookshelf in his room which is overflowing even after major destashing after moving!
  2. Oh! I hope it's none of those. lol I just found it the other day and ordered it. Health is not required here either, but I thought it may tie in nicely while we're doing the human body in science. My son is always asking about what foods are good for his body.
  3. We are using Spelling Workout and enjoying it so far.
  4. And the best thing is all are available inexpensively or free for the Kindle or Literati. :)
  5. Thanks! I did find some inexpensive and free substitutes, but still have plenty of free space for reading, since it's an everyday thing. I will definitely be including the great, living books that you have listed. :D
  6. Hi all! I am currently writing up our 1st grade lesson plans using the outline in the WTM. It is recommended that reading match up with history. The SOTW activity book does list a few recommendations for books, but I was wondering if anyone had made a list of free or low priced ebooks that could be used instead. I can research and try to figure it out myself, but if someone else has already done it, I'd love that too. :) :D Thanks!
  7. No help, but I'd love to see others responses. I just had to have black Ikea bookshelves and TV stand. Very easy to see the dust now and I loath dusting.
  8. I think I love TX more everyday that I'm here. And to think I've been anti-TX for years. heh There is so much awesome!
  9. Thanks everyone! I went ahead and bought the 3rd edition for my Kindle, so I'll get started reading it today. :)
  10. I'm wanting to purchase the WTM and am wondering if there is any significant difference between the first edition and the third edition. Is the third edition better or more thorough? Thanks!
  11. We just moved to TX too (Houston). For good citizenship, we're using Complete Curriculum's Social Studies. Not all of it, but a good portion of it. It covers good citizenship sort of stuff, like federal holidays, community, how to be a good person, etc etc. I'll supplement it with books on US Presidents and the like when we come to those subjects.
