  1. praying that you find some answers and that she get's help. :grouphug::grouphug:
  2. We've been through this 3x with 3 different new drivers. Unfortunately 2 of the times it was my kids' fault. :glare: But, like you said "she's fine." That's what really matters.
  3. I'm so sorry that SIL is making a difficult situation even worse. :grouphug: Hang in there. It sounds like you're making reasonable choices.
  4. I've read the Name of the Rose 2x... loved it. but, I would not call it an easy read. I agree... the movie was a travesty.
  5. If you enjoy Historical fiction that is wrapped up in a mystery then I enjoy the Gil Cunningham mystery series. Set in 1400's Glasgow. They're enjoyable without been total fluff - no war and no sex. There is a budding romance- but not too sappy - I hate romance in novels and this isn't too bad.
  6. I'd join too... I always need encouragement to stay on track. :blushing:
  7. I'm sorry you're dealing with such family stress right now. Try to be gentle with yourself and your SIL. This is such a hard time on everyone. Your SIL probably has a lot of anxiety right now and it's probably why she's being so difficult. I'd suggest you offer her a chance to get out of the house for an hour or two, but it sounds like she's not the type to want to do that. Sigh. Try to let her annoyances fall off you - I know easier said that done. If it were me, I'd probably be just as irritated as you. As to the actively dying process. I've volunteered with hospice for nearly 4 yrs. There's no way to actually tell how long it WILL be, only how long it might be. I've had two patients recently who were actively dying for more than a week! I felt awful...they both seemed so ready and it was hard on the families. But, unfortunately, we just can't say for sure what keeps someone going when the body is obviously giving up. :grouphug:
  8. just seeing this and glad the wee one is staying put until her due date... as fun as it might have been to be holding her tonight. Prayers continue.
  9. Ours falls a bit during the summer, but nearly as much as yours! Wow, that's quite a huge difference.
  10. I bet you can easily find a cabin to rent in Shenandoah. Map out how far some of the areas would be and then google search "cabin rentals" for that area. Monongahela National Forest in WV probably isn't much farther and it's beautiful there too.
  11. Wow... I thought Survivorman went off the air. We really liked his show. Thanks for letting me know!!
  12. I don't enjoy the beach either. I don't like the heat, sun, and crowds. I much prefer forest, mountain and stream. That said, I definitely wouldn't enjoy a beach trip to OC,MD. BTDT. If you go up the coast to the DE beaches, they are much nicer. We call OC the armpit.;)
  13. Well I haven't seen it and I love it. Love the Captain.
  14. No problem... we all care about what's happening.
  15. I wish you were kidding. That is SO sad. A famous Orthodox theologian once called the noise of children in church "Holy Noise". That's my kind of pulpit talk. ;)
  16. :iagree: as well :grouphug: I'm sorry this person hasn't forgiven.
  17. yes, I get asked that question from time to time. I've been asked that question for a long time too (maybe a few years). I think it's silly too.
