What are you looking for in a grammar curriculum? Do you have a certain educational philosophy you follow? How does your child learn best?
I use Primary Language Lessons because I love the gentle CM approach. If you're planning to use WWE, you may well like FLL.
This is definitely the forum I visit the most. I don't discuss politics and marital issues here, though. ETA: I don't discuss those elsewhere online either.
Obviously, you've never been to Canada. We're supposed to have gorgeous views here, but all we really see are the rear ends of your presidents. :glare:
:smilielol5:What a great picture!
It's called Catholic Homeschooling, and I think the original idea was that it would be about curricula and other homeschooling related things, but other topics are discussed. I'd PM the moderator and tell her you'd like to join. I, for one, would love to have you! :)
Just to clarify, Greek Orthodox and Russiand Orthodox (and other Orthodox jurisdictions) are all part of the Eastern Orthodox Church. They are one denomination. :)
The Catholic group is getting more active though. Justamouse is on a roll! :D The EO group is really wonderful.
Arcticmom, I know there are several Reformed ladies on the boards, but I'm drawing a blank on their names. I'm sure they'll see this thread and will be happy to answer your questions. :)
The Life of Fred books are lots of fun.
Ed Zaccaro and this book delve into challenging problems not generally found in curricula.
Hands on Equations or Calculus By and For Young People could be a fun way to try out more advanced topics (I haven't used either of these).
Lving Math also has tons of book suggestions. Among our family favourites: The Number Devil, Penrose The Mathematical Cat, The Great Number Rumble, and Flatland
I am quite aware not everyone shares my beliefs. :)
Parker Martin, you're right that it is arguable, especially if the OP's DD has been eating a healthy ominvorous diet previously. And I actually do take supplements, so I understand your concerns. I still believe a vegetarian/vegan diet is usually healthier, but it does require actually cooking vegetarian food, not just removing the meat from other dishes.
I apologise if I came accross as judgemental in my post. I truly did not wish to do so, but this subject is near to my heart and I can get rather worked up about it. I am sorry if I have caused any offense. :001_smile:
