  1. For our kid's bathroom, we're doing a 4" strip of tile of the decorative tile that is in their shower.
  2. We like Behr paint from Home Depot. It was all we used in our new build and our old house when we were prepping it for sale. It goes on very well. For type, I like eggshell. Not shiny, but can wash a mark off the wall.
  3. I would probably drive the mini van for a few more years and get the kids a cheap car that runs well. My daughter is learning to drive right now and she doesn't feel comfortable driving the mini van. She feels it's too big and she can't see well out of it. I've been driving our Sienna since 2003, so I'm used to it, but for a new driver/young driver, it's big and bulky to drive. I also don't see mini van as a vehicle that kids want to drive. ;)
  4. I ordered from RR on Friday. Order shipped yesterday. I should have it tomorrow.
  5. Are those allowed in the school? Those plug in scented things trigger my migraines. I would have been sick every day in a classroom in high school with one of those.
  6. I'd also look at the side effects of miralax. That could be causing some of her issues. http://embracingimperfect.com/autism/the-dangers-of-miralax/
  7. I didn't mention that earlier in my post, but yes, I greatly agree with this ^^^. I remember finally getting to see my DH after surgery and he was hooked up to all kinds of machines. It was scary. I was not prepared for all that. My dad broke his hip while we were out of the country this summer. We got back to see him a week after his surgery. He had been moved to the care home at this point. He looked nothing like my dad. And that was week out of surgery. For children with anxiety, I would rethink this plan.
  8. I'd be kind of careful on this group. I've been following it for a week and some of their answers seem kind of odd to me from what I've read about different deficiencies (Vit D, Vit B12). Are you giving her K2 with the Vitamin D3? Those two need to go together in order to absorb the D. http://www.lindsayrusk.ca/blog/the-danger-of-supplementing-vitamin-d-without-vitamin-k2 She also needs to be on magnesium. This one is easy to help get magnesium into your body. https://www.amazon.com/Ancient-Minerals-Magnesium-Oil-Spray/dp/B001AD0HL8/ref=pd_bxgy_194_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B001AD0HL8&pd_rd_r=W82JYWJJVMQQG1Q1T99G&pd_rd_w=ZKvOL&pd_rd_wg=rzJ6O&psc=1&refRID=W82JYWJJVMQQG1Q1T99G Look up magnesium deficiency. This website has some good information on it about Vitamin D and magnesium deficiency. http://www.easy-immune-health.com/signs-of-magnesium-deficiency.html Have you tested her B12, iron, and folate levels? Those may be low also if she is that low in D. As her body is starting to get more D in it, her bones may hurt. This is why: More problematic side effects of vitamin d are bone pain, muscle pain or generalized pain soon after starting to take vitamin d. Those that experience increasing pain become fearful and think that they should stop taking it. But stopping therapy is NOT recommended in the case of increasing pain. In fact, it is likely that you are EXTREMELY vitamin d deficient and have developed bone demineralization from being vitamin d deficient for a very long time and actually need vitamin d more so than the 'average' person. Read more: http://www.side-effects-site.com/side-effects-of-vitamin-d.html#ixzz4pfVjO75V Hopefully you get her on the right track soon.
  9. I don't think you are overreacting. I would keep them separate. But, I would rethink the plan on taking them to the hospital. My husband had a biopsy done on his lung when our kids were small and I was so glad that I had left them home with my parents. Surgeries can often take longer than they plan. My husband was in more pain than he thought he would be in and the morphine made him very loopy. It also made him sick to his stomach. Based on what you said about your children, I'd leave them home with the inlaws or with someone else and take them to the hospital after the surgery is over and anesthesia has worn off.
  10. Take some extra Vitamin D3 & C. Get lots of rest and drink lots of fluids. Hopefully, you'll be better by Sunday.
  11. I'd get what you like. Either way you'll have to wipe it off if something splatters on it, so you might as well like what you are looking at.
  12. That's the path they sent my dad on. :( 2 years ago they diagnosed him with B12 deficiency. They never tested folate or iron levels though. They gave him B12 injections, but not enough of them to do any good. Then they told him it was high enough and he didn't need them anymore. His symptoms got worse. He started having problems walking. Last year, he was diagnosed with Parkinson's. It's so scary how little these doctors now. I went with him to one of his appointments a couple of weeks ago & I asked about his B12 level and his D level. I asked why they didn't have him on K2 with the D3 and she didn't even know what K2 was. Then she stammered around and finally said that it can cause blood clots. When I asked about his iron and folate level, she said that they hadn't tested him for that because he wasn't anemic??? How could she tell??? I had more questions, but I gave up that point. The 23andme genetics test might also be something for you to look into. You'll need to run your results through another site to get the medical results, but I've heard great things about it.
  13. My folate is methyl-folate. I take the Thorne brand. Seeking Health is another one that offers folate. Yes, the MTHFR gene can cause problems with converting folic acid to a usable form for some people. If that is the problem, the folic acid is more like a poison to your body and you'll need to find the natural form of folate to take instead. There is a website from a Dr. Ben Lynch that has a lot of good info on it. Hopefully, you'll get to the bottom of this soon and start on the road to recovery.
  14. I would get copies of the test results. A lot of times doctors will say that the results are fine, but the results may be on that edge where issues start to happen. I know when I was test for B12 the range was 150 - 900. That's a huge range and a lot of people don't feel well if they drop below 500. Her iron and D3 levels might be that way. My dad's doctor has put him on D3 for low Vit D. When I asked the level, I was told it was at 30!! 30 is one point away from being diagnosed as deficient. I was amazed that they weren't being more aggressive about raising it, but it was within the range. However, it is way too low to feel good. In the B12 deficiency group that I'm on they recommend that one's iron level be around 80 and folate level around 20, in order to absorb B12 properly. I'd want to know where her levels are for B12, iron, and folate. I'd also want to know what her D level is. It's recommended to be around 65 - 80. I see that you started her on D3. In order to absorb it well, the D3 needs to be combined with K2. Magnesium is also helpful for absorption. My migraines have been eliminated from the B12, folate, iron, D3, and magnesium I started taking 2 years ago. But, I'd start again with testing to see where she is at. Her B12 will show higher now though since she has supplemented. MTHFR might be another thing to look at.
  15. Heart issues and anxiety can be linked to B12 deficiency. I'd want CBC, B12 levels, iron, folate, Vitamin B12, and magnesium tested.
  16. We are not traveling, as we are in the path. It's going to happen right above our house. I think you are correct with your assessment of traffic. It's going to be insanely busy. Our hotels have been booked for months and there are people coming from oversees to view this. Many of the business here are planning huge eclipse viewing parties and activities. They just posted today on the news that our state is banning huge trucks from traveling during the 4 days around the eclipse, due to the extra traffic.
  17. My son is heading off to college in a couple of weeks. He is not getting the vaccine.
  18. OMG!! Your B12, folate, and D are extremely low!! They need to add K2 to your Vitamin D3, without you won't absorb the D3 and it can harden your arteries. Optimal levels of D are between 50 - 90. Magnesium can also help with the absorption of D3. I'd want your iron level checked. B12 needs to be higher than 500. Folate should be around 20 and iron around 80. There are some other tests that need to be done with B12. Check out the website, Could It Be B12? They are listed on there. I used to get monthly migraines, but since I started taking B12, folate, iron, and magnesium they've disappeared. I haven't had one in over a year. You might also want to get checked for MTHFR.
  19. I've been using this one for two months now. I love it. My teeth feel cleaner than they ever have and the sensitivity is going away. I don't have any bleeding now when I floss. https://www.primallifeorganics.com/collections/specials-2/products/dirty-mouth-primal-toohpowder
  20. A steamer. Some wallpaper comes off very quickly with a steamer. It could possibly fall off the wall. And other wallpaper may take some more work to get it to come down -- taking off the top layer first and then having to scrape. It will all depend on the type of wallpaper, the type of the glue, and the finish of the wall. The age of the wallpaper can affect things also.
  21. Magnesium, all b vitamins (inositol is a b too, actually), d, c, and k-- all really important to be on top of with anxiety. Thanks stress of feeling anxious can deplete our bodies, which can make us feel anxious. Not a fun ride. :iagree: I 'd have her doctor test her B12 levels.
  22. We just had my son's party last Saturday. We did this menu. Pulled pork sandwiches fruit salad baked beans cheesy potatoes cole slaw pasta salad cake ice cream
  23. Pretty sure Neutrogena goes up to 110 SPF. I use that kind also.
  24. Good to know! That's two recommendations for that brand. I'm putting them on my list.
  25. I read another message board daily and one lady was raving about this one. http://www.saatvamattress.com/the-mattresses.html. She posted a one month follow up and was still in love with it. They want her to update at 6 months. She said the online chat was very helpful to her in picking out which one to get.
