  1. Did they redesign the site? No more map with stories? Or is the layout different for kids grade 3 and up?
  2. Thank you for sharing this. I am hoping to craft a sci-fi course for my dc and was thinking about steampunk titles. Your list of resources gives me a great place to start when we cover that period of time.
  3. I would love to hear the response. If it isn't private. :)
  4. I could for my younger child who inherits a lot of his older sibling's things, but I could not do it for my older child since I'm still researching/planning his high school years.
  5. Nothing like the first day of a class, giving an assignment and your students giving you a blank face because your assignments do not match up. Not all items in the clearance section are "soon to be out dated items" some are scratch and dent too.
  6. Oh that is so weird :confused1: . When I was looking at the site on my phone earlier the alignment was off and it had the price lined up differently.
  7. I take it the price difference is to discourage people not to buy the older version?

  10. We have been using the new Daily Phonics books. We use them a year ahead and they have been perfect for my youngest who is in Saxon Phonics 1 and needed a little break/a different take on things. I also love the daily editing and daily reading comprehension books.
  11. We are using it here still. Something that I have used for science that I found complimented the sequence for K-2 science was a books called Teaching Science throughout the Year. We are really enjoying the lessons and using NtK as a summary of our activities.
  12. Mind you this was two years ago when I started to use it for my then 4th grader. From time to time I bump into them at the store. I wouldn't mind finding revised version so I can see activity suggestions that some of them have.
  13. I would paid for the amount agreed upon not for the mailer. The whole transaction from beginning to end is just weird.
  14. This is actually what I have been doing for out Thanksgiving lesson to cover we jumped around to the books that talked about the Pilgrims and Native Americans. So far so good.
  15. The Scholastic and Evan-Moor books lend themselves very well to CK. Actually most things online do . This week I want to try and put most of ds's subjects in one notebook. I'm trying to do it by term but I think I am going to have a lot of trial and error.
  16. Yes, but it is separated into units. I have the entire thing for Gr 1 saved in my filebox.
  17. My copy was published in 1998 but follows the same sequence as my first edition What Your __ Needs to know books.

  19. I haven't seen this mentioned, but those reading a long one thing I did when we used this program for my first child was we bought a discontinued book entitled Core Knowledge k-8: Topic Guide. It really helped me organize what I wanted to cover and then find books to meet my goals.
  20. When my kids would have been in grade 1 is when school became an everyday occurrence. Our days were still short but we stopped skipping days.
