  1. Due to schedule changes, I decided to quit my Y membership for now. Thanks to a poster here, I decided to go ahead and buy a Beachbody on Demand membership. The one year fee is less than 2 months of my Y membership! I did the T25 cardio workout. Wow! It's tough, but I feel awesome. I can't manage hour to 1.5 hour workout sessions anymore. Hopefully BB on demand can keep me on track.
  2. Nanaimo bars nor butter tarts are made or eaten on the US east coast. I’ve never eaten either dessert.
  3. I hate food waste so if it’s a healthier item, my dh and I will eat them. If it’s junky, no one needs that so I’ll toss it without hesitation.
  4. I’d never heard of an abdominal migraine, until someone mentioned it here on the hive. I’m pretty sure my dd gets these. They come out of no where, she’s in a lot of pain, is exhausted, takes a nap, and then it’s gone.
  5. If you’ll need to get around with small children, your best bet is to get a car rental. If you don’t want to bring your own you’ll be able to rent from the car rental company, but it can add up quickly. I have tagged along during my dh’s business trips with multiple small children and it is worth it, but it isn’t easy. All I can say is plan, plan, and plan!
  6. Some of my fondest teenager memories is having coffee with my mom. I love grabbing coffee with friends and my dh. Basically, I’m emotionally attached to coffee. ☕ï¸
  7. I like almost any mixed drink except bloody Mary’s.
  8. Athleta without a doubt. They have a 20% off sale items today! Congratulations on your success!
  9. If your guest isn’t vegan maybe spinach artichoke dip with warm pita bread?
  10. I suggest that you look into a rollover into Vanguard.
  11. An electric kettle. Instant pot. Oh! I have one. I don’t can, but I did get a canning funnel. I use it for so many things and it keeps the sides of the jars and thermoses clean. I love it!
  12. Yeah... personal experience does not jive with that all. 4 kids easily conceived with my 36 oz of coffee a day. I did stop when pregnant and nursing. Come to think of it, maybe that’s one of the reasons I always disliked pregnancy! Love my babies but none of the work involved in growing a baby.
  13. My kids have pretty strong prescriptions and so we buy prescription goggles on Swimoutlet.com for about 8 dollars a pair. It improved their confidence in the water immensely. They can see the pool wall now!
  14. I make my 7 year old do some and not others. Some are worth the extra push and others are not. I do push mine to do the Swim team because I stress fitness in our family.
  15. She sounds “normal†to me. Whatever that means.
  16. Mopping isn’t a 2 minute job. Spraying and wiping the milk drips from under the kitchen table is. Running the stick vacuum after breakfast is 2 minutes. Vacuuming the entire house isn’t.
  17. About 2 16 oz cups. I love my coffee and find no need to reduce or quit. If I ever do, that will be a sad sad day.
  18. I get what you're saying. Your perspective is that you are starting from the big clean up job and then you have a ton of small tasks to do. I start from the clean bathroom and then maintain it. Get that bathroom to where you want it and then maintain it. I don't know the ages of your kids, but they can do a lot too. I taught my only son how to clean the toilets. Why? Because he is the only one that dribbles down the front of the toilet. Who made the globs of hair conditioner in the shower? Most likely my hair obsessed dd.
  19. When we homeschooled, their uniform was pajamas.
  20. I'm a messy person by nature, but when I married a neat freak, I began to get the hang of things! My dh is always doing those 2 minute tasks, but rarely the big ones. Why? because those two minute tasks add up to those big time consuming tasking if you don't take care of them. If you refuse to wipe those milk drips or crumbs from breakfast, it turns into big moping jobs or vacuuming the entire house. Those sticky spots on the bottom of shoes/feet and the crumbs begin to travel to the other living spaces. If you hate loading the washing machine everyday (takes me 2 minutes) it then turns in to a full day of laundry on Saturday. I do a load of laundry every day or about 5 times a week and I don't have a "laundry day" to worry about. Because I quickly wipe up the bathroom sink of toothpaste splatters and globs, I only need to really scrub the sink about every 2 weeks or so. If I notice the toilet getting gross, I tell my kids to clean that one toilet and that takes them 2 minutes or less. If you take care to wipe the stove at the end of the day, the gunk doesn't get cooked on and impossible to remove. Most of my friends are always remarking how clean our house is, but really we only have a big cleaning day about once a month. It's all about maintenance. So, I guess the trick is to change your perspective about the little cleaning jobs. I really hate cleaning (REALLY), but I find the quick jobs manageable and they get done. Also, it helps if you have the right supplies to get the quick jobs done. There is no way I will do quick spill clean ups if I have to drag a mop and bucket from the basement. I keep spray bottles of cleaner or wipes in every major cleaning area such as the bathrooms and kitchen.
  21. I use Scottrade. It’s pretty straight forward, but that’s the only trading site I’ve ever used.
  22. Believe me. She is well aware of her weight gain. The most you can do is love her and provide healthy food for her when she’s home. If you’ve modeled good eating habits during her childhood, she’ll know how to get back to where she wants to be.
