  1. From what I understand, it takes 1200 hours to become proficient in spanish. I am planning on tackling spanish along with teaching my son. BUT my husband is bilingual which helps. I believe you can do it, but I think it is important to be around native speakers. Good luck!
  2. Ok, I am considering 2 FREE language programs provided by my local library: Mango Language and Power Speak. Does anyone have any experience with either one of these language programs? I am wanting to use this for my son (5) and I to learn spanish together. Which one would you use? Should I use both? Comments...
  3. I noticed that they have virtual parties now. How much do you make off of that? Also did you ever sell to schools? How much can you expect to make with a moderate effort (20 hours a week)?
  4. I was talking to a lady this week end about selling books with Usborne. Can you tell me about your experience? The good, the bad and the ugly :) Anything I should know before I start? Were you successful with this company? How much should I expect to make with a moderate effort?
  5. Excited for you! Hope you are close to meeting your little darling!
  6. Ok, I am a huge fan of TYCR100EZ Lessons. It is easy to use (pick up and go), effective and proven through the years. It is not flashy, but I appreciate the simplicity. *Do you know of any curriculum similar to TYCR100EZ lessons for other subjects?* I am interested in mainly spanish, preschool for my little one, math, spelling, language arts, social studies, Bible and science. Any suggestions for curriculum (even for subjects not mentioned) are appreciated.
  7. Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons...nothing flashy but it WORKS:tongue_smilie:
  8. Wow, thank you ladies. You have eased my mother guilt! I am not the only one who does not want to play with their kids after hs :)
  9. My son is a visual learner (secondary kinesthetic). I was wondering whether you have any suggestions for GREAT curriculum that works well with a visual learner. Any grades and all subjects welcome.:bigear: What works for you?? Just thought this might make an interesting thread!
  10. Does anyone have any experience with Verbal Math Lesson? I was thinking about this as a supplement to Math Mammoth. What do you think about it?
  11. Ok, I have a secret to tell you.... I am not the world's best mom. After I have worked on homeschooling my son, I am not in the mood to play with him. I have my "to-do list" that consumes me, or I just need a break. On a good day I spend 30-60 minutes playing with him. Yes, that is a good day. Am I the only one? Any advice from fellow mommas out there? :o
  12. Arrested Development is a great show.... Smart, funny and ironic all at the same time.
  13. :bigear: I have been thinking the same thing! Thank you for this thread!
  14. Husband and in-laws speak spanish so that is our first priority (other than english). I would choose latin next and maybe some french. We will see....
