When I hover over a thread title, I used to be able to see the first few words of the post. But it's not working today. I rebooted and it still isn't working. Is it my computer, or did the feature disappear? Thanks.

My Dyson worked great on the dog hair, but it ruined the carpet. The beater brush is too hard on it. Apparently this is a common complaint. Google Dyson carpet damage for lots of stories. When we looked in to having the carpet replaced, we learned that some manufacturers won't honor the warranty if you use a Dyson. That's okay, I hated the carpet and it made the decision to replace it with hardwood easier. :)

Do you really have to change it legally? He can call himself anything he wants, and pretend it's a nickname. I was called a a different name than my legal name until I met my dh. He preferred my legal name, so I started going by that. After a few years, when I had just got used to it, he started calling me my "nickname" again. Now people don't know what to call me, because we use both. :) But it was never a problem legally. Anyway, if he wants to be known as John, he can just start calling himself that.

"Keriorrhea" is passage of oil in bowel movements. It's associated with certain fish and can be caused by other foods really high in certain oils. If you google keriorrhea and cashews, this has been reported by others. It can have other causes, so if it doesn't go away, I'd have him seen. But I'm betting it's the cashews.

This is usually associated with escolar. I think orange roughy might do it too.

I'm very open with my kids and we talk about everything. But I'd wait with the 6 year old. My kids were in public school at that age, and they started discussing drugs in Kindergarten. As a result they were upset and confused, and were terrified of Ibuprofen and antibiotics. One of the teachers had a sign on her door that said "Mrs. M's first graders are proud to be drug free!" :001_huh:

I think I got a dud. I have one of these and the pictures are lousy. I've read the manual, messed with the settings, and had other people try it out. I just can't get decent pictures with it. :confused:

Money. Around here, when you walk in the door, there is a collage of the graduate's pictures and accomplishments. There is a little basket for you to leave your card/gift card/cash. I have never seen an actual wrapped present. I have been to several in the last few weeks, and we gave $20 to acquaintances, $50 to closer friends. I asked about this a couple weeks ago, here, if you want ideas for cash amounts.

They probably need to be refinished. When the polyurethane wears off, they will collect and absorb grime and dirt. You can't really keep wood floors clean if the finish is worn.

We replaced the carpet with hardwood in the entire house last fall. Bathrooms are tile. I would prefer just about anything to carpet. I'm putting bamboo in my next house.
