  1. Isn't it interesting how much difference the spelling of a name makes? I think it's a beautiful name, regardless of how it's pronounced. But if it were actually spelled Loocheeya? Yuk.
  2. Because of the airbags. Did you read this, posted by matroyshka earlier in the thread?
  3. I knew a girl in high school named Lucia. She pronounced it Loosha.
  4. :iagree: I'm over 50 and seat belts and car seats are non-negotiable in my car. If someone doesn't like it, they don't ride.
  5. I take metoprolol 25 mg twice a day. I've been very happy with it and don't have any side effects. It's very widely used and generally very safe. I took a look at your previous posts about your BP problems. You really need a good primary care doctor that is knowledgeable about treating HTN. Keep looking until you find someone who knows about the current recommendations. Good luck.
  6. Sour Cream Pork Chops Black Bean and Salsa Soup Mulligatawny Soup I Pan Fried Halibut Steak with … BBQ Pork for Sandwiches Cha Cha's White Chicken Chili Turkey Tetrazzini II These are some of my family's favorites. They are all pretty easy. I have more energy for cooking in the morning, so I use the crock pot frequently.
  7. My guess is that extroverts are less likely to homeschool. Homeschooling can be isolating, but maybe to an extrovert it appears even more isolating than it really is, making it undesirable.
  8. I'm wondering which of the individual MBTI traits are most common among our community of homeschoolers. Vote for the 4 that describe you. Just to clarify- You should pick one from each pair: E or I S or N F or T J or P And it should be based on the results of a test, like the one Tap, tap, tap posted below.
  9. The problem is mostly with classes that are cumulative. If you have French fall semester of freshman year, then not again until spring semester of sophomore year, an entire year has passed without French. Ditto math. I think it's fine for everything else.
  10. The do vaccinate infants. DTaP is started at 2 months, then repeated at 4, 6, and 15 months. It takes awhile for immunity to appear. They don't vaccinate newborns because it doesn't work until they are a few weeks old.
  11. I don't like to clean, but I don't hate it as much as I hate having a dirty or messy house. So I picked the first one.
  12. This is exactly what our ps does. Math, foreign language, and music programs meet all year, and all other classes are blocks. I was skeptical but it actually worked very well. I would NOT want math and foreign languages to be done as blocks though.
  13. Yes. I think he should keep looking, and try to find someplace with a lower cost of living. I hear Cedar Rapids is nice. :D
  14. I use my crock pot frequently in the summer. Want some crock pot recipes, or are you looking for things you don't have to cook at all?
  15. That's what I was thinking too. But I still think she did it.
  16. I wouldn't be comfortable with that. I'd ask her mom. You could also take them to a pharmacy and ask them if they can tell you what they are.
