  1. Is that for real!? Cream cheese and egg white :). Do you make this? Sounds so unusual but worth a try!
  2. What are the Ahmad Deen stories about and which age? I couldn't gather much from the link. I would like good books for my 15 yr old son and 13 yr old DD.
  3. I know what you mean, but she spent five minutes erasing and rewriting capital B for the first word of the sentence. She just wouldn't move on. Well, she did after a few minutes, but not without exasperation and a few tears.
  4. My 7 yr old stresses out too much when she's doing copywork. WHY!?!? She wants each letter to be perfect despite my reassuring her that the way she's written them is fine. I tell her that daily writing will end up with better letters after a while, that her letters are good, that she can use her printing book to work on the form but to just work on the copywork in other books. Any tips to get over this need for her letters to be just perfect? Copying one simple sentence is taking too long.
  5. Nice suggestions... I'm clicking all the links!!
  6. Is it dark? In the Pacific Northwest the sun sets after 9:00 and there's light in the sky till 10:30 or so.
  7. Seventh Generation pads are chlorine free and don't cause me any burn feeling. Target online has good prices.
  8. I suggest acupuncture. Not painful, can be extremely helpful.
  9. Cook a cup of quinoa. Add your chopped veggies. Lemon juice and olive oil dressing. Parsley or cilantro , or both, are yummy if you have them.
  10. oh my goodness I was wondering the same thing because I've been using that exact recipe for a month and each time I put the soap in the tray I wonder 'is this really going to clean my clothes'.! The blog post I got it from said to use half a tablespoon, but I put just less than S full tablespoon. Our clothes are clean and not stinky ( I checked the athlete's armpits). I think this dry version beats the pants off the liquid kind I made five years ago. That made our clothes dingy. Enjoy it!
  11. We found that she needs a good unit on integers (positive, negative, grid) which I printed out from Math Mammoth. Once she locks that in I'll move to AOPS pre algebra. Thanks for the heads up on the first chapter. Looking at their website do I understand that these are live online courses?
  12. I'm having her take the test now on AOPS!
  13. My 5th grader is finding Saxon 6/5 very easy and has skipped to the end and still finds it easy. I printed out the end of year test from Math Mammoth 5 and she's finding most of those easy with only a few of the word problems challenging her. She doesn't feel like doing any math b/c she says it's too easy and *boring* gasp! Help me! I know that at this point some people skip up a level. Should I switch to a different type of math program since Saxon is easy and repetitive for her? Math Mammoth 6? She's almost finished with the end of year MM5, and I know I've had to help her with just 3 or 4 of the word problems, but she's got it for the most part. I'm looking for some advice on what to choose next (switch programs, skip a year like they do at middle schools, etc..)from those of you familiar with this age and stage! Thanks Mammas.
  14. 600 mg ibuprofen lightens it significantly.
  15. I've use Voluminous since I ever started wearing makeup in 7th grade but I'm liking this ZuZu much better. It's lighter and doesn't clump.
  16. Where would you buy the rock from? I use arm and hammer which took getting used to. It does contain triclosan though.
  17. What's 50's style? I just bought mascara for the first time in years and am happy with how it goes on and how it looks. It was from a pharmaca store and the brand is ZuZu. http://www.pharmaca.com/zuzu-luxe-mascara
  18. My 5th grader who completed Saxon 5/4 as a fourth grader is zooming through Saxon 6/5 this year as a fifth grader. She's on lesson 95 and is getting all of her mixed practice and test correct except for a few minor careless errors. She's bored with it and I'm not sure what to do next. Should I have her take the tests for the remaining lessons and see how she scores? I think I will do that without her doing the lessons and she if she truly does already know the content. What would you do?
  19. So sweet of you! What did you include?
  20. Thanks for the reminder to talk about this. DH and I spoke to our oldest yesterday, and I ordered some of the recommended books.
  21. I'm sorry for your loss. Thank you for posting what you've learned from her.
