  1. I second the 'no need to rush' advice. I buy 5 dozen eggs from Costco and go through them in less than three weeks. Pound Cake uses 6 Deviled eggs Quiche (I use frozen pie crust then fill with sautéed veggie and a dozen eggs, top with some cheese and bake) Carrot cake uses 4 eggs
  2. That is probably the 'best by' date. Probably too old for me to risk it. Have you stirred it and smelled it? Tasted it?? Does even look normal?
  3. Just found this while researching and will come back to take notes.
  4. Dang, Just yesterday I tossed half-full seed packets that have been in a drawer since last year. I should have given them a shot.
  5. Sorry you're feeling down. Hope you feel better.
  6. Called my doctor' office and described the symptoms (which are no longer present) to the nurse. The plan is to wait and see basically if I'm pregnant or if it was nothing. I haven't been in this boat in a long time! Thanks for your support at a time I didn't want to share this with anyone around me. Now a ten day wait...
  7. Same. Three days is not much.
  8. Yeah, something is definitely different and it's not ovulation. Since I'm mid cycle I doubt a test would detect pregnancy. It's such a weird thing. Dang it. I hate it when mystery symptoms occur. Cuz then you think the worst.
  9. Still having discomfort. Almost like the twinge is the cervix? Sometimes a dull ache in the whole region. Not all the time, coming and going. No ther symptoms. Should I go to a dr?
  10. I'd have to google what those symptoms are. I don't think appendicitis, but could this be a cyst bursting? Never had that before. I'll go google...I hope I make it back here and not get lost over there!
  11. This is why I'm perplexed. It started out that low, but now I'm dull achey off to the left. Last night it was more central-low. I'm used the sharp stab of ovulation, and this hasn't been like that. I've been pregnant five times, and I've never felt tenderness like this so I doubt (and hope) it's not that. I guess my other question is.. could it be anything horrible that I'm not thinking of?
  12. the thought crossed my mind even though it would be unlikely. ovulation pain has also been only a few minutes for me in the past as well.
  13. Has anyone had painful ovulation, or 'mittelschmertz' as it's called? I got a small twinge of a pain on tuesday which i thought might be the beginning of a UTI.... i chugged water and cranberry juice and never had any burning or pain. But the dull, intermittent cramping went on for two days and the pain moved around in the pelvic area. In the past I've noticed a cramp on one side which I easily knew was ovulation, but this is much different with crampiness, dull ache, and, for a short while, really uncomfortable lower abdomen. Could it just be a mid-cycle thing? Just looking for feedback. I talked with a dr's office and I'm not in any urgent need, but I'm wondering what that was. Today would have been the third day, and the pain is gone... except I felt a slight bit of something, but not obvious enough to be pain. Implantation wouldn't feel like this, would it???
  14. Great thread! I'm so baffled by the Original Spouse's concern...
  15. He's swinging between varsity and JV this year (sophomore) on the high school team. Defense. He's looking to play in college too, hopefully on the west coast.
  16. Great story. I love my son's lacrosse family. Congratulations!
  17. Just burned mine... thanks for helping me get over the mental block!! Definitely didn't want my kids reading those.
  18. Seems like everything beeps all the time! My bread maker beeps, so no suggestion here.
  19. Sorry for your loss. Hoping you can take the next few days bit by bit and not get overwhelmed.
  20. Thanks for the update. That's cool that she realized the difference in your life stages. I can relate to this whole situation because my youngest is 8 years younger than my oldest so I am at a different place than many of my friends who are going through these situations with their firsts.
  21. I almost always freeze the cake (after I slice up what's left) once we've eaten from it the first day. I freeze slices on a cookie sheet then pop them into a ziplock. However, for a cake like yours, I might refrigerate the whole thing (what's left) for an hour, uncovered, and then put plastic wrap over it. That hour gives it a chance to firm up. I do that for cakes that have frosting on them.
  22. So glad to read this thread!!!
