  1. No offense, but dang, that is not good! I've never seen worms, but I guess we never know exactly what's in our food anywhere we go. I did catch some type of amoeba when visiting Egypt once.
  2. I'm in shock over this information. Worms are common in cod? I want to cry.
  3. Seriously!?!? Where??? I have never seen a worm in my food there, and I've spent many years there. That is just not ok. For the OP: no way eat that fish!!!
  4. I bought the instant coffee and tried it today with a mug of warmed milk. Great coffee flavor. I'm not a fan of instant coffee but this was the best I've had.
  5. That's mine too! Use it many times a day. Got it at Target I think.
  6. I get Kosher Chicken Dunkers (oatmeal and cranberry flavor) (these go with tea and/or milk) Chocolate covered raisins I've picked up some prepared salads for co-op days for my lunch (pass on the sushi) their ice cream is the only kind I will bother to eat. I'm not a big fan of ice cream, but I grew up in Texas with Blue Bell, so none of the brands here in WA state taste anywhere near as good, but Trader Joe's was great. Mayonnaise is good quality Their fruit yogurt is very good (we like the mango and apricot ones)
  7. I've recently been going to acupuncture to treat PMS and heavy periods. It has improved tremendously. Kids as young as 8 or 9 can get treatments, so it would work fine for teens. I used to do the 3 Advil every 6 hours starting 3 days before my period and continue till day 4. It helped with my pain and ability to function, but seriously... that's a lot of ibuprofen to put in your body 6 days each month. I recommend looking into acupuncture.
  8. Cold pasta salad heavy on the chopped veggies Veggies with hummus, chicken salad served with crackers or lettuce or with those veggies. Taco salad Deviled eggs Quiche
  9. Death in Paradise (it's very cheerful despite the title) Doc Martin
  10. Hummus and sliced veggies, boiled eggs. Premade sandwiches. Prepared potato salad and sliced meat.
  11. I'm not having much success using the search feature, so I'll be asking... How did you decide what materials to use for grades 6-8? My kids have 'flown the coop' around 6th grade and started public school; however I"m considering I'd like to take my 8th grader out of school but we do not want to homeschool the way we used to (following many TWTM rec's and spending a lot of time face to face). She does better with me NOT being the main educator if you know what I mean. Also, a friend is asking me about pulling her 7th grade boy out of public school having never homeschooled... not sure how to advise her. I always always recommend TWTM to everyone who asks me about homeschooling, but for parents who are more interested in public school at home I'm not sure if there's an in between. Any ideas?
  12. I started acupuncture and have nearly no more symptoms.
  13. Boil 2 cups water Add 1 tsp Borax and 1/4 cup vinegar. Stir and let cool. Pour into spray bottle. Add 30 drops essential oil of liking (tea tree, peppermint, lavender, lemon, orange) I use this on countertops, windows, and anything else. It's been working for me for a couple of years now in place of 409 or other store bought cleaner.
  14. I joined! I'll post soon once I'm on my laptop
  15. I usually do a roasted meat (leg of lamb or beef roast), rice, green salad, roasted veggies, dessert.
  16. How funny, I had mine installed today and was wondering if I needed to know anything special! Plumbing will be connected Monday. Sorry I'm no help.
  17. Can I just say I'm glad to know of others who go through the same thing. I don't think mine is as annoying as the OP's case, but I am anemic and likely deficient in other vitamins too. Sorry to say nothing has really helped me, but I haven't tried any fixed experiments with B12 or anything like that.
  18. I don't know this guy at all; his relative is asking for him. I live in the burbs and don't know the in's and out's of SeaTac specifically. THanks for your info.
  19. A single young man is moving to the area to work in the city of SeaTac and is wondering where to rent. What are some rec's for him seeing as he's single and not interested in a suburban family lifestyle? I'm guessing commute needs to be reasonable.
  20. Thanks everyone! I had a chance to go to Target in between dropping off and picking up various kids, and I bought a Room Essentials Easy Care set. I think they'll do just fine for my son. I like the LL Bean quality, but not feeling like spending $100 on these. Ironically, I did buy him LL Bean flannel sheets, so at least he has those :D
