  1. FWIW, below is a link to free civics lessons. I've not used this yet, but bookmarked it for later. HTH. https://www.icivics.org/
  2. Me, three. And would someone please explain to my DH that under $10 doesn't count? ;)
  3. Bogs. Definately Bogs. I wear mine until the soles are gone. The short person wears hers until we give them to the neighbor's granddaughter. They slog through the disgusting mucky, icy yuck down by the barn, get hosed off, and look cute for town. Mucks are okay, but they don't have the style options that the Bogs do. Definately Bogs. (Can you tell that I'm a fan?)
  4. Thank you very much for the replies, ladies. I appreciate the help. :001_smile:
  5. Taryn, Oh, I need the support resources! Do you have the link for the Pearson sign-up page? I was at their site, but could not find the sign-up page/information. :blushing:
  6. We're three chapters into Lial's Pre-Algebra, so I guess it's time to start worrying about algebra. Sigh. Maria Miller and numerous posters recommend Foerster's Algebra. Which edition should I look for? :bigear:
  7. Us, too! Our barn cats have abandoned it for the (partially) heated shop. They won't even go down to the barn with me when I feed the horses. Traitors.
  8. Thank you for the link. This company was unfamiliar to me, and I like what they have to say. I haven't looked at the prices yet; I hope I'm still excited in a few more minutes. :tongue_smilie:
  9. Seriously??? I paid about that for farm-raised, free range birds. Yay, Hutterites!
  10. Oh, wow. We are going to do a two-year, in-depth study of American History for 7th and 8th and I'm just beginning to plan it. I think you just REALLY accelerated the process. Thank you so much for sharing your hard work!
  11. everyone who recommended Horrible Histories!! I was just in the kitchen fixing dinner for my family and found myself singing, "Born to ruuule o-ver yoouuu, Georges 4, 3, 1, and 2...." I'm RUINED. :D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPtYmq5qFVA (Link added upon request. Enjoy!)
  12. I do technical writing (part time) for a company in a field related to what I used to do out-of-the-home. I was recommended for the position by a contact in my old job. The field is insular.
  13. My state's Department of Fish and Game participates in this program, ProjectWILD. They describe their mission as helping "students learn how to think, not what to think, about wildlife and the environment." Here, at least, home educators are welcome to participate in the training and are provided materials free of charge. http://www.projectwild.org/
  14. :iagree: We will never be without a well-bred GSD-they are the BEST family dogs. However, you must buy from a reputable breeder. They may be expensive, but IMO are totally worth it.
  15. Oh my goodness. I cannot resist the Adam Ant parallel. Must. Find. This. :tongue_smilie:
  16. I haven't reached that point yet, but I can share my tentative plans. We have completed Season 1 of Analytical Grammar and are in a "reinforcement and review" period. I have been very pleased with AG. The curriculum is easy to implement and my DD's retention has been excellent. Based upon what we've done so far, I will likely use the high school reinforcement materials.
  17. We started probiotics in the summer and have noticed a drastic decrease in the number and strength of winter illnesses.
  18. Thank you for the link. It was an interesting read. I'm sorry that the resident belligerent, obnoxious anti-theists felt the need to derail your thread.
  19. Amazon. Amazon has everything; they don't call it the WalMart of the internet for nothing!
