  1. About 2 yrs ago I had SEVERE stomach pains in the area you are describing. It started out of the blue, felt the urge to go to the bathroom. The pains eventually started feeling like labor pains-I hurt so bad I just collapsed in the bathroom floor-I couldn't move. I eventually tried to make it to the bed and fainted right before I got there, hit my head on the bed(sleigh bed) and my poor dh thought I was dead-it took a while for me to come to. After a trip to the ER I found out I had a ovarian cyst rupture. I have had two bad experiences since then but handled it at home, probably didn't rupture this time, but put me in the bed for about 4 hrs. Only a heating pad helps, and it takes a while.(I do take Advil too, but that alone doesn't help.) I hope you get some relief soon.
  2. I have had AT&T/Cingular for 10 years or so and never had problems with their coverage or their customer service.(home internet with AT&T is another story!!)
  3. :iagree: We have them here in Georgia but I haven't met one yet!:DThank goodness for small favors(or large since these are not small snakes). I did have a friend who almost stepped on a snake one night-she didn't see it but her husband did and pushed her inside(they were by the basement door). I always heard snakes like warm sunshine, I didn't ever think to look where you step at night! I have heard of them in trees though! Glad you weren't bit.
  4. Got rid of newspaper, XM in the car, went down to plain landline phone plan(no more caller id, call waiting, voice mail), cutting to minimum at grocery store, cut back on eating out. We are still reading the book but this is what we have already done after reading 2 chapters.
  5. I had a similar problem but I was the shipper. I used dc and noticed it was taking wayyyy too long for the person to get her package and I finally got a letter from the post office saying they found an empty box:001_huh:. They had a sheet to fill out what was in thr box and they would see if they could find it. As of yet they haven't found the book. It went through Memphis-I wonder if this had something to do with the flooding in TN. NOT HAPPY THOUGH!!
  6. I was going to suggest A Beka but it is also time intensive. I wonder if any good and complete program will be time intensive. There were days I thought I was going to pull my hair out BUT it really does work and I am glad I didn't quit or cut back. Good luck!
  7. :iagree:I would be watching anyone around me. Maybe he isn't stalking you BUT since you didn't think he was in the area you wouldn't have been looking for him. He could be stalking you. Being a tekkie(sp?) I think he knows where you are. I also agree that someone who has "moved on" doesn't call you to tell you he is engaged. This just doesn't seem like a coincidence.
  8. We too are in GA! I spoke to one mom last yr who was homeschooling her two boys and using k12. Her boys were about the age of your youngest 2 and she liked it. There were some group field trips with area moms who were using k12 to Stone Mountain, etc... We also live in an area with some of the best schools in the state but I am going to use a more "boxed" curriculum. Have you looked at Sonlight? To me there are alot of similarities between SL and WTM, but SL has the schedule you can buy. Good luck!
  9. I was told 5 days when dd had hers done in April. BTW, she was on Zyrtec every.single.day. all year long. Her normal ped. doctor thought she had allergies. Twice we have tested negative-one year, then the next. She does rub at her nose alot and have seen little red spots on her when she comes in from outside sometimes so I wonder if 5 days isn't long enough. Took her off Zyrtec and OMG! what a different child. She was short tempered while on it and now we have a calm even mannered child. Has anyone else had this problem?
  10. We work for about 2 hrs, then dd gets a snack and I read one of our read aloud books for about 20 minutes. Then we work for another hour to hour and a half and then she gets PE/recess(usually Wii Sports). We then do lunch and finish our day after lunch. Sometimes I allow about an hour for lunch, after she finishes eating she can watch TV for about 30 minutes and just relax.
  11. Trust me, you can't. I just started homeschooling last fall-unless you want to be exhausted 24/7, it's not possible. I am going to a 4 day week this fall so I have Friday's to get some things done. Then you can probably finish on the weekends. I am going to make a schedule that lists what days we go grocery shopping, library,etc... And I learned that you do errands after school is finished(school in the morning from 8:00-12:30, errands in the afternoon).
  12. 24(loved the earlier seasons) The Mentalist NCIS NCIS:LA(my favorite)
  13. I had this very same feeling last year. I dove into the box and then remember thinking "what have I done?". Everything will be fine! My problem is that every time I get a package, dd is right under me wanting to see the new books and I can't look at it!:D
  14. To ksva: You know it's funny, I like it this sweet when it's just made--but after sitting in the fridge overnight, it DOES taste like syrup.;) I eat chocolate syrup on pancakes.:D Another southern thing I guess(maybe not southern, maybe family). My grandmother started me on that very young. Two of my kids do this now.
  15. Ya'll ain't drinking sweet tea with that little sugar.;) I grew up in Georgia, we like our tea sweet. I use 3 to 3 1/2 cups of sugar. Only Luzianne tea. I think it depends on how strong the tea is too. I use 4 family bags with 6 cups of water in the teapot.
  16. Yes, both of my oldest have acne problem. DD had a reaction to ProActive and her acne isn't terrible so we are just dealing with it. DS has TERRIBLE acne, and has for a few years. He tried ProActive and Retin-A and it didn't work. His doctor sent us to a dermatologist and prescibed him Accutane. DO NOT LET YOUR CHILD BE ON THIS. If you haven't seen the news it is linked to ulcerative colitis and Crohn's Disease. My son is 17 and was dx with ulcerative colitis in January(he was Accutane about 1 1/2 yrs ago).
  17. I ordered this from Sonlight but I have heard to order the items from Rainbow Resource-it is ALOT cheaper.
  18. I like Spelling Workout. My dd used this in first grade and enjoyed it. Some lessons had crossword puzzles with the words, some had you correct a few sentences-find misspelled word, missing capital letters, missing periods. You could also make up your own list and input them on Spellingcity.com and they could play various games with them.
  19. She is done with homeschooling and didn't want it back if you didn't use it. I would sell it!
  20. I haven't used OPGTTR but thought I would chime in with a vote for A Beka. One thing I have learned in homeschooling is don't change something that is working(especially since you have taught it already). I would change only if you don't think it would be work with your dd. I used it with my dd this year and would highly recommend it to others. We used it as it was meant to be used with all the charts, flashcards, etc...
  21. I have parents who smoke and I will not go to their house. Understand this is TOUGH! Growing up they smoked until my father had a heart attack. They both quit after that and didn't start again for about 20 yrs-about the time I got pregnant with my youngest. I was always close to them but WILL NOT sacrifice MY childrens health(or mine-I am very allergic to smoke) because of their selfishness/ignorance.
