  1. I cant use that as a predictor...LOL. I was about 5-6 cm a month prior to delivering. My kid was comfy!! I really wasnt checked more then once in the hospital since they had been busy and just wanted me to wait...I had been there about 4 hours when she was born but I imagine one push and my labor would have been a lot faster. That was my 3rd.
  2. My dd, 11, is going through this. They also believe it could be her gallbladder. I had mine out last July and it was horrible. I went months without a diagnosis...and finally had the pipeda scan which was final. I am waiting to schedule that scan now for my 11 yo. These kids are too young to experience this. :( I begged the dr. to take mine asap once they realized what it was...and they gave me lots of anti nausea stuff in the iv. I was up walking the halls right away as everyone scared me and told me to get up asap. I made sure to take my pain meds. If you child has this..just make sure they take stool softeners with the pain meds. You dont want them to get constipated and have to push right after surgery. I ended up having no issues in this dept. but I guess thats a side effect that you have to play day to day. I would make sure you have low fat foods for her recovery and some extra pillows. I found I needed one to cough on my belly. I did realize once I allowed my body to stretch fully up and put my shoulders back..my healing was easier and faster. That was a huge thing for me. I just felt like curling up to ease the pain. I didnt do exercise for 6 weeks but I imagine kids would recover a whole lot sooner. I would just plan on simple walks and stuff at first. How old is you dd if you dont mind me asking?
  3. My sister isnt too far...when I visit her I go to perrysburg. There are lots of groups there. Is that still close to you? I found groups that have gardening clubs and other clubs. what about http://www.templechristianschool.org/our-school/home-school-program.html They have home school classes...maybe they can hook you up with individuals?
  4. I like no padding in the waist. I like a long enough strap so both parents could use it...although my husband didnt use it as much as me. I liked the straps slightly padded on the shoulder and not to wide. I didnt like the straps cupping my shoulders...I felt that the straps would fall easier that way. I am shorter...so I also preferred a mei tai that didnt have a huge body as it would slip down my shoulders as well since the straps would be too far over. Not sure everyone had this issue. I loved a light padding in body of carrier...but nothing too heavy. I also loved having one fabric on one side and a solid on the other to reverse my carrier.
  5. I would also get a lab mix...and ask the shelter or rescue to pick one with a good personality. It is worth waiting for one that they think is a good fit! They are great down here in the heat.
  6. Im going to go try one. I have a coupon for b1g1 and I wanted to try it before my cruise. I dont tan because I have had skin cancer...so I am excited to try this. The photos seem pretty good.
  7. This is what I found...the chart is at the bottom of the link that shows the outcomes with each parent... http://www.redcrossblood.org/learn-about-blood/blood-types I just saw another link up in the posts with another link...it is very interesting!!
  8. Can you find a group that does SAT together? I think it is over 2 days...but I preferred those results to Cat.
  9. That is just ridiculous! I am beginning to wonder is people actually read that driving book! You find more and more people driving that could care less if they are in the wrong...they feel everyone needs to move for them. So glad you did file a report and got enough info to have her charged! It wont look good in court for her.
  10. I thought it was the zippers as well. My husband pointed that out yesterday..."do you know your shirt is ripped with holes?" well yes I do...but I cant keep buying new shirts...thanks for pointing it out! lol. Interesting survey!!
  11. awww...poor baby. I am so glad you found out and she is healing now! It is horrible to watch our babies in pain! I will send some prayers your way. I would say you might like to get her some games to play in bed...maybe on your phone, game boy...something like that...or word find books? where is waldo books? something from the library like that so she can just do search and finds or something fun? I imagine she will be up very quick...as kids bounce back so fast. maybe have some ice pops in the freezer? a new fluffy pillow behind her back? a new teddy bear to hug? or maybe a simple lollipop? I know my dd likes those things and they shouldnt effect her.
  12. Yes...mine have all vaccines. My 11 yo will be due again this summer I was told. I actually called to get the vaccine on Tuesday...but I came down with a cold...not sure if they will still give it to me. It isnt a huge outbreak...I guess just a few cases but I read the vaccine is not 100% closer to 60%. Fun FUn Fun.
  13. So my husband was reading in the paper today about an outbreak of whooping cough in our area...I was surprised to hear that since I thought it was uncommon...Anyways...my 2 girls are in private school and the little one came home with a note that her class has a child in there that tested positive to whooping cough. And I have one child here that has been home going on her 3rd week with stomach pains and slight cold symptoms. We thought her cough was reflux but makes me wonder if it will get worse. Now Im sneezing and stuffy. Yuck. It figures...I have to stop my hypochondriac mind.
  14. ive got to comment...Im in the same boat. I told my husband to be prepared for my girls to need expensive bras. I have been unfortunate to be so large, and have a tiny band size...but it works out for my kids that I have finally found a place to shop. I buy my bras and swimwear online at either figleaves.com or brastop.com Both have great bras for even better prices. I tend to try and stick with figleaves as I can return the items easier and cheaper to a US address. But if you know your size...brastop has amazing prices too. I just bought some swimsuits in bra sizes there for like $20! I am Thrilled. Cheaper then target and they will fit. I dont know anything about shapewear...I did buy those bra extenders...for my fat weeks. figured I could save money from buying a larger band bra when I go up and down. LOL.
  15. HI...My 11yo aspie has a history of ulcers...so it was expected that she had stomach pain and we figured it was an ulcer. We put her on the prescriptions for that under the care of the Gastro because she stopped eating and drinking. SHe continued having the pain around her belly button. Then it got better for about a week. We thought it was great...then the next day she was sick again. We never stopped her meds...so the dr. decided to do an endoscopy the next day. So in the mean time...her lips started bleeding from being dehydrated. I got her to eat half a salad and some water and then yesterday she had 1/2 a bagel a pop and some water. Not much. The endoscopy was perfect. The dr. was happy and said all is great...and asked me why i looked upset. Told him that it doestn explain why she is still sick? So he said we will need to look into more testing next week but to go home and schedule next week. Now ...the next day she still doesnt want to eat or drink. I have her finally drinking sips of the flavored water..but thats it. She is taking Levsin which seems to be an organ relaxer? for cramps? Now she says she has pain when she is laying down and it is easier to sit up. She isnt screaming...just moaning once in a while that her tummy hurts on and off all day I am trying to be patient without ignoring my child...but I dont know what to insist on for testing. He did say it is possible for her gallbladder to be causing it...as it is genetic...but they dont seem to be in a hurry to test. Im on hold with them right now trying to see what to do...I have no plans on sitting on this all weekend. They told me I could go to ER but it seems the er is there to stabilize and send the child home usually labeling everything as gastritis. Which I know she doesnt have. The dr. explained more and more kids are presenting with adult issues...and he has no clue why. I just feel so helpless with her! I am a wreck emotionally trying to help her feel better. She has been in bed all week and I am feeling helpless. Anyone have a suggestion on tests or solutions to figure this out? so far I know its not gastritis, ulcer, celiac Im still waiting for additional biopsy from endoscopy but visually this looked very good. I am thinking it is lower.
  16. I guess Im the odd ball...I had a bad experience buying online (not zenni) so I took my son to walmart last week. You can buy any frame and they add kids lens package. I paid $79 for the transitions and bought a $75 frame. They have tons cheaper...especially for girls. I had to buy a mens frame for him. They also have a year guarantee for kids under 18
  17. I had asked because I read someplace that you dont want the yeast touching the liquid...but I may be wrong. I cooked one the other day and it asked to heat the water slightly...but it fell while baking. I saw that could be from the yeast mixing with a temp too high. I guess it doesnt matter if you do the little well or mix it in the flour as long as your liquid isnt too hot or too cold. I am going to try my regular bread the same way and see how it comes out. I dont use the mixes because I just use my own mixture. My dd likes the millet mixed with Sorghum. Some days I add in buckwheat other days some rice flour. I do slice mine about an hour after I cool it. I have no clue how to use the homemade one...LOL. I have the machine with gluten free setting so I just always hit that. I havent ventured into following those instructions yet. I just mix them up and dump them in. :tongue_smilie:
  18. If I know we are going to be eating a lot within 3 days..I leave it in the fridge. Otherwise, I freeze it. I dont defrost them...I just make the sandwich and let it thaw after when I pack lunches. If I want to eat right away...I toast them or just microwave it on defrost for a few seconds. I believe you can freeze them for 3 weeks...although my bread never lasts longer then a week.
  19. Im using my bread maker and doing pretty good. Ive been following the Gluten FREE baking classics by A Roberts. So far so good. I am having to play around with mixtures as it seems South Florida isnt the best place too bake bread with humidity. GRRR. Ive started adding a tiny bit more flour and now Ive added a few different types of grains. The recipes call for the dry ingredients to be mixed and placed on top of the wet ones. It mixes the yeast into the flour. Now the machine has different instructions that you make a little hole in the center of the flours and place the yeast. I do this with my regular wheat flours. Does anyone do this with Gluten Free? I was curious since I cant find that anywhere? does it really matter?
  20. Hi...My bread falls in the middle when I use too much yeast. I am just learning but I was told this is one issue. I bought a breadmaker and use med. crust now.
  21. Seton tests are very simple in my opinion. I used the K, 1, 2 7, 8. There are very few questions and the results are very plain...like scored 7 in reading scored 8 in math Our local Homeschool group offered SAT which is stanford and it was MUCH more detailed. like... problem solving...98% math procedures... total math... word sentences... vocabulary... I had never heard of an Stanford online. It does sound like they are keeping up with technology! I preferred SAT FAR more then Seton because of the details.
  22. Yes...all our aspie girls are very different. Mine is not creative and doesnt play pretend like your daughter. She does play with dolls but not in that creative way. The one benefit you have from testing...is that it shouldnt be testing only for aspergers...these tests will determine most psychological or neurological issues...and not be specific to one.
  23. We had always used a cup of coffee for my son. Did wonders for keeping him focused!
  24. I personally preferred my Mei Tai to my ergo...as the ergo dug into my pelvis. If you are asking should you get one of those style carriers and is it worth it? I would say YES! I used mine forever. Mei Tai is super easy to use...just tie on your waist and swing baby onto your back or hips. Best item I had of all my baby items. I still carried my sling for emergency use but the mei tai (or ergo) will release all that back pain or neck pain that the sling causes with a heavier child. I think I used mine past 4. My dd liked to be carried. She did ask to get down and run around...then she would be back up on my back for 20 min...then back on the floor running. My dd was about 17 lbs. when I switched. Mine was also my last baby. Personally, I would wish I would have just invested in the one I wanted instead of trying to buy the cheapest or used. I know I got my money's worth out of it and I actually am keeping mine. Ive used it with my friends babies.
  25. wow...these are not options here in S. Florida. I WISH!
