  1. my local softball team was collecting coloring books...plus other books for the local kids hospital...Maybe you should contact the kids hospitals and see if you can donate directly. It would be a great way to have your books recycled. I am planning on donating all of mine. I have a ton. I have spent lots of days thankful to have a book to read or color when we visit these hospitals. :) Maybe you can have the kids donate them. Makes you feel good inside. :D
  2. I just started up with a boyfriend of mine when I was 19 or so...We used to go to a local archery club that is completely hidden. Maybe you can look for one of those. I had never seen it until we started shooting. It was hidden in the trees. they had lots of people offering classes and different groups during the week. It was a great time! I would love to get back into it. I purchased a bow, my case to carry it...the little thing you hold to shoot with your finger...a little sleeve that covers your inner arm. If you get hit in that inner arm it STINGS! :D I did that so many times. I had practice tips for my arrows...plus arrows cut to length for your pull on your bow. Hmmm...I cant remember what else. Do you have an Outdoor world near you? I believe they have lessons and they most likely have equipment to try and use for lessons prior to purchasing. May be worth looking at.
  3. I dont use it...but my husband does...after you posted this...I found a few links that show it is mainly fructose. I didnt realize that. I will have to look into it more but this is what I read: Agave nectar has a low-glycemic index for one reason only: it's largely made of fructose, which although it has a low-glycemic index, is probably the single most damaging form of sugar when used as a sweetener. With the exception of pure liquid fructose, agave nectar has the highest fructose content of any commercial sweetener.
  4. well...my oldest begged me and they all ended up going back. Then my oldest came home for middle school as he was having a tough time...and now he is back in public high school. It turned out fine and everyone is very happy. Dont beat yourself up...we still have "After schooling!!" :D I take control of extra learning time after public school.
  5. I took my DD to the dr. when she started throwing up one day and she had pneumonia. I had no clue...thought she had a stomach virus. These kids...you never know.
  6. http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/jamie-easons-livefit-phase-1.html this lady has a 12 week program. Looks like it is "do-able"
  7. my friend is recommending bodybuilding.com for me. She says they have regular women's forum and info that isnt necessarily for bodybuilding.
  8. I keep trying. I gained 10 lbs. when my knee was inflamed and then I gained another 10 lbs when I had my gallbladder surgery. (grrr) but I am eating super healthy and I work out at least 4 days a week. I am fitting in a morning routine at 5:30 for an hour now....this is our first week. I havent lost an oz. doing it...which is frustrating...IM sure it is muscle gain..but I will continue even if I dont loose weight. I had been doing 30 minutes a day with a video at home. I have tightened up...which is nice. I really want to loose 20-25 lbs. but just like you...no one would look at me and say Im fat...Im just very short and a little bit goes a long way. My goal is to keep in excellent cardiovascular shape so I will grow old gracefully (hopefully) ;)
  9. there hasnt been too many exciting shows...but I am looking forward to Greys tonight!!
  10. I have my first rant on this....My school has a terrible math program. Go Math! OMG. It is horrible. my DD was so confused. She had to do 6 different methods to figure out what 6*7 was! Please...I taught my kid times tables and she knows them. And the book has no explanation.
  11. It is good to start with the GI dr. Thankfully, Endoscopy is very simple and could help if it is stomach issues right away. Im sure your GI will be a huge help. ...Gallbladder issues are not out of the realm of possibility either...My DD had a bout similar but it stopped. She was on Omeprezol (cant spell), and Carafate at first...with no help...but it finally just stopped. In my DD case, stress is her leading cause of stomach pains and acid. Maybe it is something simple that is leading to his pain that can be calmed through some relaxation techniques.
  12. I think they are a very similar cut to AE. Low waist and thin in the legs. They have different cuts...but they are very comfy. I cant get into my lucky brand jeans any longer. They are a bit to low in front for me now. :glare:
  13. Figured it out! It was my new router! Thank goodness.
  14. I buy mine at Figleaves.com or brastop.com Figleaves works better for me because you can do a return to a US address and then they reship free if you have to exchange. I have my Freya for exercise. It is wonderful. They have sales and coupons all the time and shipping is like $4.00 I believe Nordstroms carries this brand but I cant buy them there as they are very expensive in that store.
  15. prayers :grouphug: Ive never heard of anything like that...starting in the knees. Cancer is HORRIBLE! Lots of prayers for them!
  16. that is my LD son...I email the ESE teacher that sends me his HW/CW. It is easier for me to email her daily and ask my questions then sending notes and such. I found email is so much better. Teachers dont usually mind an email...calling every day would be crazy, though.
  17. you just have to keep working out and eating good. It is difficult. I've been stuck at 151 and Ive been exercising now and eating good. I got down to 142 in the last couple weeks and it fluctuates if I eat high sodium or ice cream birthday cake (like last night)lol. I think the average weight loss is like 1lb. a week but I work out in the am and walk during the pm. It seems to add that little boost I need. Just keep going and do your best to work out, eat lots of fruits and vegetables.
  18. lol...Im sorry you are shaking in your boots...I call, email and send notes in all the time :D I must be a teacher's nightmare! My son's teachers get emails DAILY from me. His grades are online. I deal with one specific person in the school and they deal with all his teachers so I dont continually bother each one directly (HS-ese) I email about HW or CW all the time. My middle DD takes care of her grades in school. I have emailed once to discuss a grade but she was very nice about it. My little one doesnt get her grades posted. I have no clue what that teacher does. GRR...but I was warned prior with her. So...I expected that. I have received one sheet so far with grades. I did email that teacher to discuss my DD concerns and the teacher stated she was doing great and to email anytime. During open house my Middle DD English teacher told me she loves getting parent email...and has no time really for calls...so she said-- email away! :)
  19. This may be worth scheduling a meeting with your principal and teacher to discuss your concerns. Im not sure how motivated the school would be to move your son up a grade but they may be willing to discuss a path to get him moved up? I know my friend had the same issue but her son was much older. The issue becomes once they are in high school they turn 18 in 10-11 grade and become "adults" instead of minors. They offered her son a summer program to get caught up and get back into a higher grade.
  20. I bought my Dyson at Costco. I love it. It has a really nice tube to reach high on the walls and vacuum the fans, walls, corners and ceilings. I love that it dumps out in the trash and there is an extra filter to alternate between cleanings. I hadnt tried other canister types. I did have a bag one before this and it cost so much for the bags...I am so happy not to buy those anymore.
  21. Ive had great results with the regular selsen blue. It doesnt burn your head and it doesnt smell bad. Not the menthol one. I follow with a fruity conditioner. I couldnt use Tgel. I could smell nothing but that Tar for days!! Horrible.
  22. american girls has a great book for that...Just me and Dad My DD just pulled her books out this week!! They are so nice. Fun things for girls to do with dad. We also have Mom & Me. They are sweet. OK....I was going back reading...and I see she is 12...not sure if she would like that. I know my 11 yo does...but not sure if a 12yo would. hmmm...I agree with going to the movies, maybe biking, some sporting events?, my husband plays softball with my DD...she loves it.
