  1. Mine was a shot, not oral, so I don’t think it’s metabolized the same way.
  2. I injured my piriformis last year and the thigh pain was sometimes worse than the pain in my hip/butt. Honestly what helped most was a steroid injection followed by PT. After that it healed quickly and I haven’t had any more issues.
  3. Gah! Shoes?! I’m wearing flip flops forever now. Even in the snow!
  4. Yikes! This one is one of 4-5 species in our area and supposedly they’re all pretty harmless . I didn’t even know we had them here. We had a sun spider here a few weeks ago. In fact I thought it was another one of those but DH pointed out that this one has a stinger. It was very small, maybe 1-1 1/2 inches head to stinger. I hope it’s the last one I see.
  5. . . . anyone wanna come over for a big bonfire 😧 Seriously, it was dying when I found it. The pest control company came a few days ago and I think that did it in. Well, that and the push broom I used liberally upon its person. Google tells me it stings but the venom isn’t a problem for humans unless they’re allergic. But still. I do not do arachnids. Nope nope nope. We are in the process of landscaping our newly built home, so I’m sure it’s soil disturbance and not likely to be a long-term problem, but yikes that was the finishing touch on a long, problematic day.
  6. Unfollow him. If anyone asks, you can say “huh, that post didn’t show up in my feed” or “I must have missed that one” 😄
  7. This. I’m so sorry you’re having a hard time. Sending virtual hugs.
  8. I’ve seen people walking out with large stacks of pizza, and one of my college kids says it’s a common enticement to activities on his campus. I think it’s 12 slices/pie and I’d figure 1.5 slices per person. Some will eat one, some none, some 3+.
  9. I bought this for our queen-sized bed and I really like it. It breathes. I get hot under our comforter, which is cotton with poly batting. Bedsure Cooling Bamboo Waffle Queen Size Blanket - Lightweight and Breathable Full Blankets for Hot Sleepers, Soft Spring Blanket, Luxury Cotton Throws for Bed, Couch and Sofa, Ivory, 90x90 Inches https://a.co/d/3VnPO2Y
  10. We have a Green Mountain Grill and love it. We use it all the time. We love the cheapy pellets from Winco 😂. I think they give a better flavor than the Costco pellets.
  11. Thanks all! I got back to the second buyer and she met me 20 min later cash in hand. I sent the first buyer a “sorry, no longer available” and archived the listing. Just glad to have it sold and gone! I will definitely be adding a few caveats to future listings.
  12. I’m trying to sell a couple of items on Facebook. They could sell separately but it would be easier to sell as a set. I’ve got a buyer who wants one of the items but not both and has been “trying to get the money together” for almost 24 hrs now (long convoluted story about how her husband didn’t leave the right card so she could get cash and they don’t have Venmo and so on). We are talking $10, not a huge amount of money. In the meantime, a second buyer has popped up and wants both items and is ready to go. Is it rude to tell the first person that I can’t hold the item for her anymore and she’s out of luck?
  13. On the flip side of this . . . my pet peeve is that I always seem to get stuck behind people who hover right in the spot I need to grab something. Whether they are examining the stock for a hundred years or checking their phone, it’s so annoying. Pick your item and move along! I’m not saying YOU do that, but I’ve been known to wait and then finally reach around someone who has no inclination to move any time soon 😄
  14. Not me. I’m sick of hearing her songs everywhere I go this summer 😂. But you all have fun!
  15. We have a door at the bottom of our stairs and it really does make a difference in the temperature upstairs and down. Maybe a pressure mounted rod with a curtain? It would be easy to take down when you no longer need it.
  16. My techy cyber security major uses Proton Mail. I don’t know the exact reasons though.
  17. I would encourage disposable products for sleep away camp. The laundry issues get complicated and let’s just say I know from experience that period underwear after a 3-day hiking trip were . . . unpleasant to deal with. We bought the Bambody and Innersy brands from Amazon. Both have held up well after nearly a year of use. We didn’t do anything special. I made sure we had pads on hand and in places like the car and school backpacks before they ever started so they’d be prepared. Both of mine were pretty clinical about it.
  18. Oops missed that you suggested this one already. Great minds 😁
  19. He might try Alan Bradley’s Flavia de Luce series. I have only read the first one, The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie, but the protagonist is an 11-ish yo girl who solves mysteries and is obsessed with poisons. I don’t recall anything inappropriate.
  20. Thanks all! I discovered today that a lot of things in the area are closed Tuesday! But we had a good low-key day. We split up and DH took a couple of kids back to the zoo at their request; the other two kids and I went to explore Old Town Alexandria. Then we returned to the hotel for an afternoon nap followed by ordering dinner in and watching a movie. It’s been a good day and we feel rested up for our travel day tomorrow.
  21. Due to a strange convergence of events, we find ourselves with one last day in DC before we go home and nothing planned. We had planned to go to Arlington Cemetery but it’s closed due to storm damage and they just extended the closure through tomorrow. I’m so bummed, but it can’t be helped. Things we’ve done: Spy museum, botanical gardens, Air & Space (both DC and Udvar-Hazy), Natural History, capital tour bus, capital wheel, national gallery, national archives, Ford’s theater, Holocaust memorial, Union station, National zoo. Looking for something fun and unusual to entertain 4 kids ages 10-20. Bonus points if it’s on the metro with minimal walking (my feet may never recover from this week). I’m not against Uber, but with 6 of us that might get tricky. We’re all museum-ed out.
  22. I think the test you’d need is a hysterosalpingogram (HSG) with dye. I had one during infertility testing to check for a blockage in my tubes.
