  1. Are you looking for it as a Christmas gift? If not watch for a groupon from Midwest Supplies for the brew kits. My husband ordered one of the their brew kits (not sure which one) along with several of the recipe kits and we have been extremely pleased with the equipment, the recipe kits and their customer service. We had a few broken small items in our original shipment after UPS mistreated the box and Midwest quickly sent out replacement parts.
  2. The other way that you can check on posts that you are following is to click on the view new content and then on the left hand side bar go down to Other and click just Items I follow. It will stay at those settings until you unclick that check mark. So to then view new content either all the forums or just a single board uncheck mark the Items I follow and it will bring up all new content. If you want to sort by specific boards there is a link to pick from which boards you want the new content displayed.
  3. I also have a non verbal 2 year old. He has just a few recognizable words. We are working on taking him off dairy after I finally realized that his horrible burning poop was caused by the dairy. He's off milk but still sneaks cheese and I haven't taken away the hidden dairy in other foods. He eats such a limited number of things that I'm slowly trying to find replacements for the few things that he does eat. I'd like to put him on flax seed oil as well. Do any of you who use it have a brand that you would recommend? I'm clueless when it comes to good brands for supplements. I've never been one to use them so I don't have any idea of what I should be looking for when it comes to finding a good quality supplement.
  4. Yes. - My kids called 911 from an old phone with no sim card in it.
  5. I just got the one posted above from Costco. My DH got it for me for my birthday so I assume it's one of the best deals out there since he is cheaper than me
  6. Worked on ripping out the carpet in the playroom with "help" from the kids. New wood floors go in this weekend! I also managed to go shopping for Thanksgiving during the 4 o'clock witching hour with the kids and didn't sell any of them ;) . I don't think I have ever gotten so many double takes, "bless your heart" and "you've got your hands full" comments in one outing.
  7. From a quick google search it doesn't look like it is possible to have more posts per page. A lot of groups that are on this software are complaining about it but the developers removed that feature in this software.
  8. Congratulations! She's beautiful and I love her chunky cheeks!
  9. Since we are 12 hours away from family we rotate who's house we are at for Christmas morning. I would love to get to stay home at our own home for Christmas but seeing our siblings is important to us so we make the trek home every year for Christmas. We spend way too much time in the car and I'm not sure how we haven't gone crazy yet. Our families live a little more than an hour apart. Our typical Christmas looks like this. Christmas Eve - Dinner at DH's Grandma's house. Christmas Eve Mass then drive the 30 mins to one of our parents houses. Spend the night and Christmas morning with them. Have lunch and then pack up and leave to drive an hour to other family's house. Spend Christmas evening/night with that family. Then this year my brother has to work on Christmas day and it's my parent's year to host us on Christmas morning so we will be driving the hour back to my parent's house the day after Christmas to celebrate with my brother and his family. It takes a lot of work, but it's been this way for 10 years and I don't see it changing at least until DH's Grandma passes away. We spend every Christmas like it's her last (she's 93) so we don't want to miss a Christmas with her.
  10. I'm jumping in here. I wish I could tackle DH's closet since he has WAY more clothes than me (I'm a complete Jeans and t-shirt mom) but he won't let me touch his closet. Mine should take about 10 minutes to clean out. Then I have to tackle the laundry chair. I've had a glider in my room for 4 years to rock my babies but I haven't seen it in about 2.5 years
  11. I like the site math-aids.com Has lots of different math worksheets that you can print.
  12. Our move home from our temporary rental where we only took about 1/3 of our stuff was 4000lbs. That included a fridge, washer/dryer, 1 couch, 1 kitchen table, 4 beds and a crib. The rest was clothes, kids toys and games, homeschool books and kitchen dishes etc.
  13. Chicken Marsala, Roasted Potatoes with bacon and onions, Green beans, and Salad. One of my all time favorite meals that I make. Working on hitting the favorites before we rip out the kitchen and are cooking with a BBQ grill and crockpot for an unknown amount of time
  14. My son did 2B in the spring. Over the summer we worked on the IP for 2B and when he got to the fractions it took less than 5 minutes to refresh his memory of them. We will get to 3B later this winter and I expect it to be the same quick review. Since doing the unit in 2B about fractions, he is finding fractions in real life and pointing them out to me so I know that it is sticking in his head.
  15. My son does not like to write at all. Yesterday his writing was the following (which was a lot for him) - 25 math problems with 3 digit answers - wrote 15 review spelling words and two dictation sentences of about 5-7 words each. - copied one sentence in WWE - copied 3 sentences of about 4 words each for Growing with Grammar and wrote about 6 other words. Today he wrote a 4 sentence letter (long sentences) to his grandmother which took over an hour and will do about 25 math problems. The rest of his work today I will probably write for him because I was happy that he wrote to his grandmother without complaint and actually enjoyed it.
  16. My first thought was 43, DS(7) answered 43 and was able to explain why it was 43. When I asked him what digit was in the tens place he told me 3. I think this is the biggest part of the problem. If the teacher doesn't acknowledge her correct thinking then the teacher needs a lesson in test question wording.
  17. Here's my end of the quarter review and getting ready to move post
  18. I love my Beco! I've used it to carry my sleeping 3 year old around at Disney for an hour without a problem. I also love that the version I have has a built in infant part. My DH and I both use it to carry DS (almost 2) on our backs all the time. I've had it since he was a couple of months old and have loved it for every stage.
  19. You may want to check by ISBN number. Our library only had one under the Science of Imagineering. The rest were under just the plain title of Trajectory, Fluids etc. I had to look by the publisher to find the rest of them.
  20. Coming from the Southeast out to NM (Las Cruces) I totally understand your attitude about the area. We've been here 9 months (and thankfully heading back to the Southeast in a few weeks) and I've never adjusted to the landscape. I just don't like it. We went to the Gila National Forest this past weekend and I just wanted to run through the grass and pine trees. The lower areas made me feel like I was back in the Southeast. I have younger kids but things that we have enjoyed - Carlsbad Caverns and watching the Bat flight in the evening which lead to a couple of weeks of reading about bats. - One Small Square - Cactus Desert - Taking the time to hike and get to know the animals and insects around here. There are a lot of great guides for this area. - Bird feeders and Humming bird feeders - We've had a great number of humming birds around once we put up our feeder and even had a nest built in our tree that we could see. Even though we've taken the time to get to know the area... I still hate it! I'll be happy to go back home to lots of trees, grass, streams, and rainy days.
  21. Read the posts on the photographers site that is credited at the bottom. It made me cry!
  22. You can't get just a tetanus shot. They could have given her a DT shot which is Diptheria and Tetanus. I've had a reaction to the old pertussis vaccine so I never receive it anymore. So the last time I needed a Tetanus booster they gave me a DT shot.
  23. :iagree: I've lost almost 20 lbs of the 30lbs I need to lose without working out. I'm not hungry, I have so much more energy, and the mental ability to keep up with my kids all days. When I have days that I slip and eat too many carbs I feel bad, am sluggish for a day or two, and overall it makes me not want to eat the carbs again.
  24. I actually use both at the same time with my 2nd grader. He loves workbooks and likes doing the GWG, but I think he retains the information better from the verbal lessons in FLL 2. So for right now we do FLL 2 days a week and GWG 3 days. He recognizes when something in GWG was already covered in FLL and doesn't mind the written practice. He is quite pencil phobic. Some days I still have to do the writing for him in GWG but most days he doesn't mind doing it himself.
