  1. Here are our current plans for 2nd Grade which starts the beginning of July Hopefully the plans won't change too much over the summer. I already ordered it all and have it sitting in the closet waiting for him to finish up his final chapters in a few of his current 1st grade books FLL2/GWG2 WWE2 AAS 3+4 ETC - Books 7+8 Literature - Still putting together our book list Singapore Math 3A and 3B with IP and CWP RSO - Earth and Space Prima Latina History Odyssey - Middle Ages Primary Logic/Logic Links Art - Try to get through the Artistic Pursuits book that we didn't do this year Plus - cub scouts, swim lessons, extra science classes and soccer.
  2. My son was stuck for awhile at about 30% on subtraction until I switched him to doing it on our tablet. On the tablet we had the option of pulling up a keypad and he was much quicker on it. He is now up around 50-60% but we haven't done it in a couple of months.
  3. What??? Target Gift Card? I missed that part completely when I filled out the information! I was just excited about a new game!
  4. We got an email this morning too. Can't wait to see what they are sending!
  5. My normal breakfast "snack" before working out is an apple with natural peanut butter. Then after I work out I eat an omelet with peppers and spinach.
  6. We use Singapore similar to Boscopup. We use the Standards edition because I liked the look of it more than the US edition and the added topics over the US edition. DS goes through the lesson with me in the text book, then goes off to do the workbook on his own. We also spend time 3 times a week working on a part of an Intensive practice topic. I keep him working in a book behind in IP to keep reviewing past topics. In the standards editions levels 1-3 the same topics are covered with more detail in each level. So by keeping him working a book behind he is reviewing the concepts taught in the B book while we are working on the next levels A book. I will generally randomly pick a few CWP problems to do every week as well.
  7. I buy these from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Letter-Thermal-Laminating-Pouches-UNV84622/dp/B0006VZAZS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1333720733&sr=8-1 100 for $9.99
  8. I don't know of any cheap ones, but I was able to find one at a thrift store. They had just gotten it and didn't even have it priced yet. They ended up giving it to me for $20 for the 40 inch round table and 4 chairs. Yes the chairs are a horrible yellow color and the table needed a good cleaning but it was cheap and that thing is solid! I love my table, but there is no way that I would spend $300+ on table and chairs set.
  9. Mine has started doing this all the time now that they've switched to the radio tags that let you just drop the books on the special scanner to check them out. The people checking them back in aren't careful about making sure the whole stack of books they are checking in are all recorded. I end up just pulling it off the shelf the next time we are in and tell them that I returned it last week with the rest of my books and I found it on their shelves. They laugh, delete the fee and check it back in. The most I have had in fees was $21 but that was because I didn't realize that the movies I had checked out had an earlier due date.
  10. My daughter has loved this green toys tea set for years - I love that she can actually use it. http://www.amazon.com/Green-Toys-5512754-Tea-Set/dp/B001543YEY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1333549061&sr=8-1
  11. The Wii games will stay on the market. The WiiU will still be able to play the original Wii games. Looking at the controller for the WiiU it looks like it will use more fine motor control while playing the games than the original wii. If you go to a place like best buy or game stop most have a wii setup that you can try playing.
  12. I have been really happy with smugmug. It is a little more than I would like to pay at $40 for the year but I LOVE their privacy settings. You can share some pictures with everyone and others have completely hidden unless you have a direct link to the gallery and a password. It's so easy to upload large amounts of pictures to their site also. I uploaded about 500 pictures from a disney trip easily in one evening without much work on my part.
  13. The bumps are on the sealed part below the barcode if I remember correctly. The 2nd link I posted said that their bump code was for a specific lot. Not sure if that lot is still out. I got a few from that lot when they first came out and all were what the bumps said they should be.
  14. Found this printable version that has the bumps and what to feel for in the package. http://www.itsalltrue.net/?p=16587&page=2#decode
  15. Found this for you. I'll be using it to try to get a few :) http://www.fruitlesspursuits.com/2012/01/lego-minifigures-series-6-is-out-photos.html
  16. My brother first filled a room with toner smell when it first started but it smelled just like the pages do when they are first printed and when away quickly. I'm with boscopup and think there may be some plastic inside that wasn't removed.
  17. I have one large and one little dipper. I really want to get a medium 3qt size one for meals that don't fill my big crockpot. I'm tired of things burning in the large one when it isn't full.
  18. Easiest way I know to do it is to right click on the ticker. Copy the image URL. Then in the signature page go below and use the add a picture to signature box. Put in the URL and it should be able to add it to your signature.
  19. I'm another one that loves my Green Mountain Diapers. They are on their 3rd kid and only a few have worn spots from the snappis. I also love my thirsties snapping covers. You can use covers with velcro for really little ones, but once they get older all my kids learned how to take their covers off and I had to move to using snapping covers.
  20. This is what I did and why I'm going back and doing 4.5. Book four was a great introduction and AAS helped him understand it better. I'm hoping that by going back and using book 4.5 he can just about master the concept.
  21. We went in order and did almost all of book 4 before flying through books 5 and 6. DS is going to finish book 7 and then I am going to order book 4.5 to review the syllabication one more time since I am seeing him have some difficulty in his reading to himself.
  22. I agree with the spray paint for plastic and then acrylic. If you are doing a large number of them it would be worth the time to drill the eggs and lace fishing line or wire through them and hang them to paint.
  23. Thanks for posting! I was just looking for something to put on my ipod for DS to listen to while he works to block out the little ones.
