  1. :grouphug:I so hope your power is on asap. :grouphug: "Floods stink." Quote from my ds.
  2. :grouphug:What a wonderful update. We've been wondering about you. Sending a big hug and prayers. :grouphug:
  3. Happy 40th Birthday. You are practically a baby in my book.;)
  4. :grouphug: I hope it goes well and you are off and running again.:grouphug:
  5. Staging a home can be an excellent selling point. We looked at two nearly identical houses. One had a very dark blue kitchen and it looked nice. I just couldn't get past the color and went with the other one. Painting is a chore, but worth the effort in the long run. I agree with checking with your realtor.
  6. I've already experienced two self or man made photo disasters. One was a digital camera that fell out of my pocket into a bucket of paint, and one dead computer. I've mourned the loss of those memories/pictures and resorted back to my printed copies of all or at least the good ones. (You know the saying...fool me once....)
  7. http://www.welltrainedmind.com/schedules.php This link from the old board has a very encouraging article from Susan on scheduling. The Dictation With Ben is also well worth the reading if you haven't read it.:001_smile: Too bad, many here might never read all the extra stuff over at the old site.
  8. :grouphug:Big, big hug and prayers. What you are feeling is true and a testament to the young man you raised. My mom and I cried for weeks when I moved out. Love is a big thing especially for moms.:grouphug:
  9. Normal shopping routine is early Saturday morning while the kids enjoy cartoons or free time. When they were little one of us went and one stayed home, now we often enjoy some morning time out together.
  10. (((Sue))) I'm just sending prayers your way. No advice, just a hug and hope for healing and forgiveness. :grouphug:
  11. I agree with rotating or even streamlining the LA subjects. There is plenty of overlap there. WW would be an easy one with all the new voc. in the Sonlight books. And I'd drop the Geography workbook and do a small number of the Sonlight mapping activities pulling three separate subjects into one. I agree with Peela. No one can do well day in and day out with an overwhelming schedule. Paring down a schedule where a student can excel is very often a blessing. Afwiw, I always have to cut my wish list and make our schedule a do-able one. Wish we could do it all, but you know.;) I'm sure you'll find the right fit with a little tweaking.
  12. I'd focus on phonics and reading skills. Once the reading is set many move on from phonics to spelling instruction. Seven is young, you've got lots of time.:001_smile:
  13. Enjoy your moment. It sounds picture worthy. Just imagine all the social skills they are exercising not to mention the creative outlet.
