  1. That sounds like fun. Pop-corn is a very inexpensive and tasty snack for a crowd. You could even make a pop-corn bar with different toppings. You might have each family bring a bag of house decorations (candy) to offset your cost.
  2. Personally, I feel it isn't a gift unless the person feels strongly about the organization, cause or ask for donations in lieu of gifts, flowers etc. We do donate as a family here during the holidays, but it's for what it gives us. This situation reminds me of George, donating to the Human Fund.:001_huh:
  3. There was a guy in my geology class named...Andy Andy. Poor man, it was just so :001_huh: to everyone. What was his mother thinking:001_smile:.
  4. I loved the musical and was enthralled because I hadn't read the book. I guess I'm strange, because if I read a book first, and then see it on stage or screen, it wont fit with my minds view. Maybe, I need therapy.
  5. We have one in braces and the save a good amount with the pre-tax money.
  6. :001_huh: I'll check it out because he would probably love it... much to my chagrin. Library has it and it looks like something we can enjoy together. Thanks for the rec.
  7. Thank you for understanding. Word to the wise...Be careful when suggesting your 12 yo pick the next book. I now know more about whaling than I'll ever need to know.
  8. Hey...Who are you laughing at! I'm stuck reading Don Quixote in teeny, tiny print and slowly loosing whats left of my eyesight. This book prolly (lol) will be the end of me, but I'm reading the big-old-tiny print-stinking-thing as an example to dd and ds. (I'm actually enjoying the story, it's the text size that's killing me.) Earlier this year, ds and I waded through the ever awful Moby Dick together. He btw...loved it.:tongue_smilie:
  9. No, I wouldn't. Suggest another movie choice or decline. All too often we tend to overlook/override our own principles, rules or ideals to accommodate others and fit it. Not my cup of tea or a message I'd want my ds9 year old to learn. Kwim? jm2c and ymmv
  10. I want in this year, but will have to make it work alongside my must read with or before my sophomore and middle schooler.
  11. No advice except to call and be sure they have x-ray after 5pm. I'll send some prayers:grouphug:.
  12. Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, heck any cookies are easy to eat without a mess in the room and will often get eaten by loved ones who aren't remembering themselves. :grouphug:Prayers for your friend.
  13. Paper sack add 1/3 -1/4 cup popcorn fold and crease top twice Microwave top and eat
  14. Penne pasta with tomato sauce, garlic bread and a salad. Brownie sundaes for dessert.
  15. I've been reluctant to open an account, figuring they would hook people and then...bam. Change it to make money.
