  1. Many of my recipes say to cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4. So, there may still be time, but it depends on what you're cooking.
  2. No knead: Pesant Bread Recipe • 1 packet dry yeast (or 2 1/2 tsp) • 2 c. warm water • 1 T. sugar • 2 tsp sea salt regular is okay • 4 c. flour • Optional 1-2 tsp. fresh Rosemary • Olive Oil, Corn meal, Melted butter and salt Dissolve yeast in the warm water and sugar. (I like to buy yeast in a large package and then store it in a plastic container and keep in the freezer. It lasts forever. OR if you don’t make bread that often, just buy the yeast packets.) Add flour, salt, and 1-2 tsp Rosemary and stir until blended, do not Knead!! Cover and let rise for 1 hour or until double in size. Simply keep it in the mixer bowl and cover with a moist cloth to raise. Remove dough. It will be sticky. I like to put butter or oil on my hands for taking out the dough and shaping it. Place it in 2 rounds on a cookie sheet lightly coated in oil and sprinkled with corn meal. OR you can place it on your silicone baking mat with no oil. Cover with a towel or greased plastic wrap. Then let it rise another hour. Brush each round with melted butter and lightly sprinkle with salt , & rosemany if you are including it . Bake @ 425 for 10 minutes, then reduce temp to 375 for 15 minutes more.
  3. :grouphug: I've found having healthy things around to eat, avoiding all sodas, caffeine, and eating what I want when I'm hungry works for my body. If I'm not hungry, or don't want anything but a dessert...Well then that's what I eat. I don't make myself eat a balanced meal...I go more for a balanced weekly diet. And this is strange, but since I've given up all caffeine and replaced it with good old milk, (not skim) I've lost weight. Enough to have to change sizes. People call me a grazer or say I eat like a bird, but a little bit of a satisfying treat or meal goes a long way for me. I hope you find your balance.
  4. Interesting article, it leaves me with lots of questions, and plenty to think about.
  5. I never find the policy of sticking your customer with the hassle, good for business. They sold it, they should make it right. I'm sorry you're having a hard time with the exchange.
  6. :grouphug: Poor kiddo. I can't imagine why that question was asked, it was impolite and in no way necessary to his care. Very strange question, I'd be perplexed. I'm mean, why did she ask?
  7. I've placed the audio book on hold at the library. Thanks for the post and recommendation. Jean...I'm right there with you, but for me winter almost always gets to me, and this year, the January weather started a month early.:grouphug: We've got no sun and freezing fog this morning on top of the almost two feet of snow and 11'. To be honest, this isn't all the bad compared to ice storms and no power. (I keep reminding myself that this is baby weather, and I need to get used to it.) I think you, must be run down and overwhelmed. It's so hard when your body wont cooperate. Big hugs to you, and prayers for healing.
  8. :grouphug:Oh, poor kid. I hope he feels better soon.
  9. :iagree: (The latest editions for 7/6 & 8/7 are paperback not hardback texts.)

  11. I called and they were there. Customer Service rep helped me do it myself. WAY down at the bottom of the e-mail is a priority code...that worked.
  12. Definitely worth a try, many places will even exchange it, but no refund.
  13. Oh yes, but we had a blizzard last week and plenty of snow left over...but it did snow another 9' on Christmas Eve. It is lovely to look at, and I'm overjoyed not to have been the one clearing the driveway and sidewalks.
  14. I'm considering ordering one more course this morning:confused:, but the sale price disappears when I sign in again. I may have to call them, if anyone is there.
  15. :iagree: And he could almost definitely work through it on his own. Imo, fwiw...students do benefit from teacher lesson participation, but that doesn't mean you have to hold their hand. Go over the lesson directions together, ensure he understands them, and then he works through the lesson. Then you just have to answer any questions, and check or grade the work.:001_smile:
