  1. One of my favorites is baby spinach topped with crumbled bacon, red or green onions, carrots, tomato, fresh grated Parmesan and homemade ranch dressing...served with garlic bread. I also loved fresh garden butter leaf lettuce with fresh veggies and any dressing. To make store bought lettuces taste better, I buy a few kinds then clean and mix them myself. I make a big batch of salad and keep it in a zip-lock unsealed with a paper towel in it. Super easy and just like the prepacked store brands.
  2. Shudder....I hope you get the critter (s) asap. Don't turn the lights off or the horrible creatures will come out. We had one in the garage...I purchased the following arsenal. TomTom glue traps pre-bated with peanuts, snap-traps bated with cheese smeared in peanut butter, and POISON for them to take back to their nes,t and kill/dehydrate them all. (They wont stink if you use DECON) Dh is responsible for all set up and disposal and I insist he must wear gloves:tongue_smilie:.
  3. I love dairy! Milk, cheese, yogurt, ice-cream...mmmmm.:001_smile:
  4. I would ignore the dollar amounts, and likely go purchase gifts for each child vs. giving the cards if I felt it would be better. You most likely wont know the motive behind it, so just do what makes your family happy.
  5. Sounds reasonable and logical to me. I would just move your dd in and expect him to be the grown up man that he is. The other bedroom would be used by either someone in the home or a very nice guest room. He still has two years of college left and possibly grad-school...and then life. Don't feel guilty, he may fuss, but it wont harm him.
  6. I did this year, and even ate at earlier times. Most of the time I strive for a little something for everyone within one meal, but many times I'd eat what looked or smelled yummy. Out of sight was out of mind for me, and by eating earlier...I wasn't tempted or interested in the other stuff. Do what ever works for you.
  7. This list is the one I started, not the bigger one which is held hostage to a defective thumb-drive. Read The Well Trained Mind...It has a great list in the back. 8. I can't imagine the logic here, just wow. How can you get full credit when you failed hath the course?
  9. You are amazing, and have a beautiful spirit.:grouphug:
  10. "Quit verbal farting." "You crack me up." "We can compare notes in twenty years." "The things that come out of your mouth." "Mind your own business." Oh my, I really like Rosie's...."I don't care what you think."
  11. I think it is too. And compared to many other projects, it can go pretty fast and then wala...something beautiful.
  12. :iagree: And will add that for some of us, state graduation requirements, admission prerequisites must be considered. Health is a requirement here along with PE. I really didn't want to pursue the be all end all curriculum in either. My two enjoy learning for the most part, and each have areas they excel in, and others they must muddle through. (Ds has no passion for poetry, he tolerates/can't stand it.:001_huh:, I'll continue to hope exposure will plant a seed of love...Reality is more likely to be that he never will.)
  13. :grouphug: Oh gosh, you poor thing. I'm so happy your dh followed you out. My experience wasn't so dangerous, no heimlich needed, but the fright factor of choking has caused me to take very small bites. Many see my little bites as lady-like table manners...If they only knew. Others may have better coping strategies, and I hope you find yourself at peace with eating again.
  14. :hurray:Yes:hurray:! And there was a nice surprise included with the Night Sky, a Planisphere...My ds is looking forward to starting Monday...I thought we would hold onto them until next year:D. LoL I did order 6 courses and I'm considering ordering more. I have a feeling my ds will insist on completing all three of the science courses before next fall. Thank you for the Chem review. I'm considering that one for my dd and me.
  15. People have always haggled over prices, it's just a part of participating. Stealing is evil, and against the law, trying to get a better price is just that.
