  1. I agree, it sounds like way too much. We use GoDaddy for DH's business website. I pieced together a pretty nice website with that (and I know NOTHING about web design) then my niece redid it and made it really nice :tongue_smilie:. I do have question about your bank account though. Does your group always have such a large balance? I was president of a MOMS Club (non profit) for 2 years, we always had to get our balance down to about $500 by the end of our business year. I'm not exactly sure about the reason for this, I think it was to stay off the radar of the IRS. We would always donate a bunch of money so we could bring our balance down where it needed to be.
  2. We have a pair of owls that come and sit on our roof every couple weeks. Ours usually come just after it gets dark. They sit right on the edge of the roof, so if we walk out the patio door we can see them. They are BIG!
  3. DD (just turned 7) has listened to all of the books as audiobooks. She actually watched the movies first, then listened to the books.
  4. I'm in bed with the kids (they're sleeping) and I'm shaking the bed from laughing so hard. We have a Golden Retriever and a Chihuahua (mix?) and they are both 'simple' dogs.:001_rolleyes:
  5. Wow, I'm so happy that your ds was found not guilty but there is so much unbelievable stuff that happened it still makes me feel sick. Not enough evidence for a search warrant but enough to go to trial. :001_huh::001_huh::001_huh: I just can't make any sense out of that.
  6. I belonged to another board for 6 years and only had about 2500 posts. I read A LOT but I don't post a lot.
  7. I would ask for Barbecue Meatballs, Cheesy Potatoes (hashbrown casserole) and Corn Casserole. This is the 'country cook' type comfort foods that I grew up with but I don't make very often myself. I do actually make this meal every year for the night before Thanksgiving so we will be having it next week. ;)
  8. :crying: Happy tears!!! Such a relief. I can't imagine how exhausted you must all be from the stress.
  9. I had a cracked tooth with an infection this summer. I was not able to deal with it right away (I was out of state because my Mom had just died and I wasn't ready to come home yet). I was able to get through it with a Rx for amoxicillin(sp?), I'm lucky because my BIL is an MD and called it in for me. Before I got the antibiotic, I started rinsing my mouth several times/day with Peroxyl (a rinse made by Colgate, bought it at the drug store) that really calmed the infection down some and made it bearable. Good Luck.:grouphug:
  10.:lol::lol: I usually go out around 8ish. I just kind of wander around and I don't usually buy much. Last year I went to Wal-Mart and I think all I bought was a puzzle that wasn't on sale.:tongue_smilie:
  11. :DI can't wait to show the kids that video. My cats would have ripped my arm off if I would have tried that.:tongue_smilie:
  12. I brine mine in the cooler with ice (I posted earlier about using oven bags to hold the brine). I keep the cooler in the kitchen because I'm afraid to leave it outside (lots of coyotes here). There is always lots of ice in the cooler in the morning so I know the turkey stays plenty cold. I always use a roaster to cook the turkey. The breast doesn't get as browned but the skin on the legs gets crispy. We eat buffet-style and no one here eats the skin on the breast so we don't care about the browning. The turkey does seem to cook faster in the roaster (you can check the Rival website, I think they have info on how long to cook in the roaster). My turkey always cooks faster than even the roaster instructions says it will.
  13. My recipe looks pretty similar to the Good Eats recipe. I always use a frozen turkey and it turns out great. I don't have enough room in my refrigerator for a big turkey with all the other stuff for Thanksgiving so I put the turkey in a cooler. I very carefully (with help) put the turkey into a double layer of turkey sized oven bags, then pour the brine into that. I then put it into the cooler with ice.
  14.:blink::blink: Wow, I am stunned by that!!! I agree though about getting advice from the lactation consultant about what is really necessary with the drugs they will be using.
  15. So cute! My DD is deeply in Potter Mania. She is on her second round of listening to the audio books. I just showed her and DS Potter Puppet Pals, mysterious ticking noise. They have been singing it all day.:tongue_smilie:
  16. I agree. I was just thinking about this particular article and assumed that he had not changed (increased) his activity level during the 10 weeks. I also believe in eating a moderately fatty breakfast, helps us keep going through the morning without a crash and I think it helps prevent cravings later in the day.
  17. The other thing that I found very interesting is that his calorie deficit was 800cal/day x 70 days, he should have lost about 16lbs but he actually lost 27lbs.
  18. I love that little Bayliss bag. I have been wearing a little Coach cross-body purse for the last 2 years. I love having my purse on me and not having to worry about setting it down. Lots of cute purses on this thread. I'm probably going to get a purse for Christmas. I thought I wanted one of the Fossil cross-body bags but now I'm really liking these sportier bags.
  19. :iagree:I agree with this. I think it is exactly the right way to handle the situation. I especially agree with this Good Luck to your friend. I hope you will keep us updated.
