  1. Bless your heart! I know what the waiting feels like and hate you are going through it. Shame on the nurse for scaring you...she doesn't know the diagnosis so she shouldn't be putting her 2 cents in. I've had 2 biopsies, not needle biopsies but core, where they take several samples of the mass with a little knife..this was the "cutting edge" method (no pun intended) back when I had them done. Just know there are different types of biopsies you can have. Try not to worry...the breast surgeon that performed my biopsy was convinced I had cancer based on how the mass looked, fortunately it WASN'T! So first looks can be deceiving! :grouphug:
  2. He 's active duty Army National Guard...he's eligible for retirement now, but he's hanging on a few more years so he can immediately start drawing his retirement...we're counting it down! He has a B.S. in Radiologic and Imaging Sciences and an M.B.A.
  3. I've have been trying to send a payment since last night. When I click "submit" it gives me an error message saying "transaction can not be completed at this time". It then says to wait 30 minutes and check for confirmation. So far, no confirmations have come through...tried again this morning and same message. Very frustrating!
  4. Grilled chicken over feta slaw (if you have a Zoe's Kitchen in your area, it's very similar to their Protein Power Plate)
  5. Does anyone use the On-the-Go planner? I've always used the Full size, but there are a lot of the pages I never use like the gift registry and all that. Would love to hear your thoughts...I've got an itchy trigger finger :)
  6. We've always stayed in the Bedroom car and I don't think you would be comfortable with 5...it has a couch that converts to about the size of a full bed for sleeping and then has an upper bunk that pulls down. If I were you, I would go for at least the Bedroom Suite...it's double the size.
  7. We've taken a few trips on Amtrak. Yes, they do run behind but we like to get a sleeper car on long trips, so it's never been a big deal to us. It's a great way to travel with kids!
  8. Great job, girls! Today I'm tackling the kid's rooms...uggghhh! There will definitely be some toys going in the donation pile. MyCrazyHouse, I dusted some high places/fans a couple of weeks ago and it was disgusting! I did the same crazy rant with Dh about our filth!
  9. I've worked so hard the last 2 days since we are taking our break week and the kids are at my parents. I am a pack rat and not the most organized person, so there are always piles of paper/books and clutter around. My goal this spring/summer is for everything to have a place...if it doesn',t I get rid of it. Here's my tally for yesterday and today: Coat closet cleaned out and reorganized so it's finally functional...I added a low bar so the kids can have their coats easily accessible . There was enough room to stack many of their games on the floor too. I added bag hooks inside the door to hold their backpacks, grocery bags and my tote bag. Linen closet cleaned out and organized, everything labeled. We were drowning in books/craft supplies/manipulatives. ...so I bought a bookshelf (put it together ALL.BY.MYSELF - this is huge for me...lol) and got all of our school books organized by subject. That freed up a much to small bookshelf to now house all of our puzzles, games, manipulatives, school supplies, and fun books. All this is in the basement. Since I had a place to move books to, that allowed me to clean out our den bookshelf and only put what we are working on during the week on it. I have 6 bags ready to donate and too many garbage bags full to count. I know y'all don't care, but it feels so good to get this done and I just had to tell someone :) I've got one more day kid free, so maybe I can get the house clean! I
  10. :iagree: Haven't tried specifically on grill grate, but it has removed rust from everything I've tried it on thus far!
  11. I started getting very noticeable gray by the age of 21 and started coloring. My natural color was reddish brown, and I've been about every color in the brown/red spectrum in the last 20 years. I get it colored at a salon, but extend my visits by using Root touch--up. My roots are solid gray now at the age of 42, so I'm sure I would look like my grandmother if I stopped coloring today!
  12. :iagree: We love Victoria...it's one of our favorite places! We haven't taken the kids yet. I'm sure the ferry ride would be fun for them, we usually go in July and just enjoy touring the streets and looking at all the gorgeous flowers and greenery. I remember they have a miniature museum, we toured an old monastery I believe...have fun! We also love Olympia, WA..it's not too far from Seattle.
  13. So glad you are safe...my parents are up that way and they made it through ok too. We're a little south of you, so we are anxiously waiting for it to roll through here :(
  14. We are bracing too! They hit way to close to home n 4/27 and 1/23, I'm getting our helmets and everything organized in the basement this morning. Stay safe! Happy B'day to your daughter :)
  15. I just followed the "pin it" button instructions and it put the button on my toolbar, I don't remember having a problem....so I can't really help there. I personally looove pinterest! Why? There are so many ideas to be found by just going to the Pinterest site instead of wasting a lot of time surfing the web for ideas. It has a search function so if you are looking for something specific you can. You don't have to "follow" a lot of people or have them follow you to get ideas. IF you are logged in, you will see their pins listed first, but you can click on the choices at the top of the page (Everything, Popular, etc. to see tons of other ideas.) It's a great organization tool for me, it's hard to see why others don't find it useful..lol! I guess maybe I was such an organization mess to start with, I'm easily impressed.
  16. We are doing CC with a 1st grader and 4K'er this year. We read a ton of library books on the timeline events, history sentences, and science. We also supplement with SOTW. We also watch a lot of videos...I get lots of ideas from the blog "Half-a-Hundred Acre Wood". As far as review goes, they both listen to the CC audio CD all of the time. In addition, 1st grader does AAS (3 days/week), math(everyday), FLL & WWE(everyday), for handwriting we incorporate the Latin translations from CC, RSO Life science (usually 2 days/week), reading practice(everday). 4K'er just does Rod & Staff workbooks and 100 EZ lessons a few times a week. It looks like a lot when it's written out, but honestly we only spend 1.5/2 hours on actual school work with my 1st grader.
  17. It happens here too! My SIL and niece witnessed their cat being taken off by a hawk a couple of years ago. Just recently my next door neighbor has had two kittens mysteriously disappear and that's what the vet told her most likely happened. We see a hawk circling every afternoon.....
  18. http://shoebuy.com I've gotten some great deals...sign up for their email alerts and you get some great free shipping and percentage off codes too!
  19. Santa brought this for Christmas but it's outside...they love it!
  20. We've only been in our house 6 years and have already had to replace almost all our appliances! The bad: Maytag refrigerator, LG stove/oven and dishwasher. The good (so far): Kenmore Elite Frig (love, love, love it), GE oven, Frigidaire dishwasher. Good luck! I despise appliance shopping!
