We are in the same boat. It is hard and it is painful and I am not sure at all about how to change things at this point.

I am happy to see this thread. I was very disappointed to see the updated CDC masking guidelines and even more disappointed that my state has decided to drop the mask mandate as well as most of the social distancing rules. While my family is fully vaccinated we will continue to double mask everywhere. My thinking is that the vaccine, while wonderful, is just one layer of protection against Covid. Given that just under 40% of my state is fully vaccinated and the virus numbers are continuing to rise, that one layer of protection from the vaccine isn't enough. We can increase our protection by double masking and social distance. If the vaccination numbers were much higher and the virus numbers were much lower (and dropping) then I may feel more comfortable not masking, but nothing I have seen supports not masking at this point. Not masking is also relying heavily on honesty and I just don't trust people to be honest about most things and I certainly don't expect them to be about being vaccinated. To me, the group that is most likely to mask is going to be most likely to be vaccinated. The group most likely to ditch the mask asap is the group most likely not to vaccinate. Now whether that is accurate or not, I don't know. But it is how I feel. The short version: nothing changes at all for my fully vaccinated family.

The fact you have done it with as much turmoil as you have had over the last couple of years AND during a pandemic as a front line worker is nothing short of astounding. I like this idea and fully support it. Anything to get people vaccinated. I really love the idea of college tuition for the 12-17 year olds. It, in my opinion, is a good use of money and resources.

Yes, very much so. I can't go into Ulta because their lights overwhelm me so much that my heart pounds and my anxiety sky rockets. Some Target stores are the same way (though not all). I am an HSP and all overhead lighting bothers me, but florescent lights are unbearable. If I had my way all overhead lighting would be abolished and florescent lights would be illegal.

I do this too! I feel very fortunate that I have such a rich, lively, crowded, hilarious, creative inner life. I'm sure you feel the same way about yours. I think you might be the first person I have come across that seems to have the same inner life as mine. Hopefully your daughter is as impressed with you and my daughter is with me. Mine is positive that her mom is the only one in the world like this.

I have made the mistake of sharing a glimpse of what is inside my head with my husband. He was a bit horrified and looked at me like I was several fries short of a happy meal. Won't make that mistake again! He just isn't "hip" enough to be invited to the party that goes on up there, obviously.

Yes, me too, to both of you! Over the years of homeschooling my youngest daughter has gotten a peek into my very busy inner life and is constantly amused by what goes on inside my head. Likewise I never fail to amuse my own self.

This is me. So very many thoughts going, they are constant and relentless. I have not officially been diagnosed with ADD, but there is no doubt in my mind I have it. I also have full conversations going on in my head in addition to the thought streams. Let's just say my head is very full and very busy.

In my opinion there is no minimum or maximum age for Hello Kitty. They have a ton of products that would appeal to every age.

At least one hospital system in my state is vaccinating 12-15 year olds starting today. I was surprised to see them starting this quickly but am happy they are.

Covid has delayed my 17 year old getting her permit/license too. She got vaccinated at the hospital where her drs are located so all I had to do was sign permission.

My thought process towards getting my family vaccinated is that absolutely nothing has been more important. It didn't matter what was going on, as soon as we could be vaccinated, we were. The rest would just work itself out. So I would go ahead and get her first shot if she were mine. Congratulations on Pfizer being approved for 12 and up! It is exciting!

Absolutely! Our dogs are truly loved family members. We love them very much and it hurts my heart to even think of referring to them as "it". However we have tons of lovable cute nicknames for them.

This is an interesting thread to read. When it comes to our home I never even consider what is "in" and what is "out", I furnish it and decorate it with what we like and what makes us happy. I really don't care what anyone else thinks or whether it is currently on trend. Reading through the comments and looking around I have discovered that I stumbled upon a classic warm timeless look without even trying. I truly believe that your home should be what makes you happy and what is or isn't current shouldn't be a concern.
