  1. Just a thought... When you use these bags, you need to wash/disinfect them. There was just a newscast or something about all the germs from meat placed in them one time.. and then veggie another... and so on.. Carrie:-)
  2. Hey There, I'm wondering how it sounds..... If you're happy you ordered it....and if we could maybe here just a clip of it... Carrie:-)
  3. http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/D?d111:1:./temp/~bdytat:@@@L&summ2=m&|/bss/111search.html|
  4. Wow, I'll go rescue another if this goes through and you can get double. Ditto on if you get another credit for more children. I'd love to be able to adopt a few... Carrie:-)
  5. Wool Long Johns... thin and warm.... Silk "Long Johns" :-) Soft wool socks and slippers... Carrie
  6. http://www.kanoe.us/ http://www.ambybaby.com/ My husband's ex has the kanoe. If I had the chance, I'd use it. I almost want one just to put my stuffed animals in:-) I will purchase it for my children, when they have babies if they want one. My husband's ex is a sleep with your baby person.. and yet, for hours her baby has slept contently. You hang the hook from the ceiling, so during the day, her baby is downstairs.... and then at night... she's up with them. Carrie:-)
  7. My daughter does read them and answer some questions. I have the Student, Teacher and then the actual Books to read. Of course, I like MP a lot:-) They are suggested somewhere around 4th and up... and she's in 6th The new ones have beautiful pictures:-) Carrie
  8. My dad has an app on his I-pod phone, and he's lost a ton... as has his good friend:-) They just enter everything on their app and presto... they have enough calories for food or not... They enter their exercise, too, I believe. PM me if you have an I-phone and wanna try it... and I'll ask him what the app is called:-) Carrie
  9. Hi There, I'm thinking of doing a once a month co-op... like a "Holiday" of the month theme. Mostly, I want a once-a-month get together with local Homeschoolers. Anyone do something like this? I'm going to ask our church if we can use the basement.... Any ideas?? Carrie:-)
  10. I vote "Yes". I have a really old oven that is a Jen Aire. The convection oven still works though. What I've heard is.... Gas on top.... electric for the oven. When I get a new one... and $5000 for the gas line (long story) that's what I'd get:-) Carrie
  11. Oh yes... I'd pay off our debt, so I could have less stress:-) I'd adopt more children to homeschool, and hire a housecleaner and chef:-) Does that count?? :-)
  12. What about Shurley Grammar, does it have Christian Content? I like the jingles... and the sentences patterns... Carrie:-)
  13. Me too, I'm a 34DD or so... and I got about 5 of the VS cuz I decided I wanted them... really nice, but slip all day... My favorite bra is my nursing bra.... supportive.... and simple:-) (And no, I'm not nursing anymore) Carrie
  14. I want you to be in Oregon... I'd love a group like this IRL. I'm not sure it exists.... Does it??? I'd love to be proven wrong:-) Carrie
  15. We have an old house and I wouldn't suggest you thinking about it... unless... you like to sleep cold... or you have enough money for duct work to be put in... AND you can afford some insulation. You can add this paper mulch insulation. Our wood stove is great though and keeps our downstairs warm.... and sometimes the upstairs. My husband has fans that we have to reverse each day... warm one way... cool the other way... And then bringing in wood each day.... and those little heaters in the wall to be warm... We are always going to be broke due to our house. (can't get out of it... can't afford to really "fix" it) $5000 for plumbing... a couple summers ago... 3000 for water heating... no insulation in most of it... all electrical needs to be rerun... breaker box needs to be really "redone". Wood floors are yucky and uneven... Bathroom toilets have to be.. redone.... shower leaks... Carrie
  16. I don't think so.... I like sleeping in late... taking naps.... and going to bed late.... Carrie:-)
  17. We usually aren't serious enough campers to not be able to find an electrical cord... so next time I'm gonna have one of the coolers that are like a small fridge... I hate it when the ice starts to melt... ick! My husband's treats for the kids are "fruit pies"... which are white bread with canned fruit. They are grilled in these little "pie" cast iron things.. And, smores, of course:-) Weiner bean pot is a camping favorite for us... And Hobo Dinner....(for them...) Carrie
  18. Skip counting:-) Seriously!! CC has a great skip counting cd. You might check it out... it's simple but even I know the songs. Then, she can quickly figure out multiplication. Here's a good way to present the facts... http://www.mathmammoth.com/ (you can watch the video and use it without purchasing any materials from her:-) And, while doing flashcards, do it with the answers... first... stick with one family then move to the next. I wouldn't say give up. I came home from public school at the end of 5th grade thinking that I could never do the math facts. In two weeks I did. I still remember that they were large green flashcards... with yellow numbers:-) Here's the deal. If she can't remember poems, simple songs and such.. sure... move on... otherwise, I think she can do it:-) Make it fun! Just do this and no other math for a while. (Maybe 2 weeks) Try 15 minutes 2x a day... or so... Carrie:-) PS, tell her my story! I really thought I just couldn't do it... Get out the m&ms for treats for both of you... get her hyped up about it... Tell her that I think she can do it:-) I'm not sure it's so important to her math.. but rather so that she knows that SHE can do IT:-)
  19. Oh yum.. never put cream cheese in the mexican dip! Oh.. yeh... the croissants with chicken salad... That sounds REALLY good right now!! Carrie
  20. If I had health issues to consider... I might have a tubal. I'd probably have my husband have a vasectomy, although I've heard of some complications. http://ladycomp-babycomp.com/show.php/index Here's something that I wish I had used, after my second child. I had a very painful... long delivery... and thought I could handle being done. I would have at least one more child, perhaps two, if we hadn't done something permanent. At this point, I can't adopt... and I'm too old to start the reversal thing... so I'm done... and I just have to deal with it... Carrie
  21. So, to save people the problem that you're explaining... instead of cards ... I usually give a magazine with a message... like... "Happy Birthday... Enjoy! Love, Carrie" on it. Usually the same price or less than a card:-) Carrie:-)
  22. There's a yummy veggie dip with mayo... roasted almonds... olives.... a bit of salt. and some other simple ingredients... if it sounds good I'll get the recipe. I put it in a colored pepper and put veggies including cut up yams (which I incorrectly call sweet potatoes cuz they sound better:-) They taste like sweet carrots (These are raw:-) Carrie:-)
