  1. Ditto on the recipe... except my friend said Cornstarch instead of arrowroot... Carrie:-)
  2. I'd try the Good Will first:-) While I have a nice Victoria's Secret Robe, my other 3 or so... I've gotten at the GW. I got one that had some emblem on it... took it out (seam ripper) and my mom appliqued over it with her Embroidery Machine... Carrie:-)
  3. Where we live, you call the county guy who is responsible for coming out... he "put's it to sleep" with whatever they do pets with...ugh. (I've not done this, so don't attack me:-) You can take the cage out of city limits (here) and shoot it while it's in the cage... Remember, don't let it out... in the wild... it can let different diseases out... for the country animals...(Not good) Carrie:-)
  4. Here in Oregon, Bill, we just wish you'd move our way. We'd all sign our kids up for you to teach math!! You must spend half your time on math programs:D Whew, I only wish I had your excitement about math :D ;)
  5. If you're in a perfect place to have him take Korean Lessons, I think that'd be great! I always thought that if I adopted, I'd try to have my child speak their "native" language. Think about how much easier, should they want to minister of travel to Korea... Here's another thing, it's another "tie-in" to their birth culture:-) And, of course, it's easier to get the accent while younger. If God has placed you in a spot that has enough Koreans in it to do this... perhaps it's possible. My dad, totally caucasian, when young learned Korean... or some other asian language...just by playing with the next door neighbors... Probably just enough to be on a little kid level... but of course... he was maybe 4 or 5.... WHen you get older... you're much more likely to feel nervous about trying out a new language... Just a thought:-) Carrie:-)
  6. We ported our home number over to a "home cell" so... same number.... and a phone. Carrie:-)
  7. Teechino... or however you spell it... It's good! And, good for you... and gives you a "Let me have my coffee" feeling.. I can get it from our co-op:-) Carrie
  8. Remember to get his other stories.... Many people like his voice better on his stories.. than him reading. Me... I like them all!! Carrie:-)
  9. Hi There, I had a Books of the Bible plus a sentence about each book.... kinda like the one in Drew Campbell's book... but only Protestant books and a bit different... Anyone have one? Thanks! Carrie
  10. Hey Hornblower:-) What nice videos! I didn't mean to say that I think that you should leave the puppy in the crate all the time, BTW, just when you can't be tethered with it.... When I watch these, I kinda just wish that we had ours from the time he was a puppy... he would have been SO cute! And, he's smart, so he would have been easier to train from the start:-) Carrie:-)
  11. Hey Hotdrink:-) (Would that be coffee:-) ?? Too bad! I'd welcome a 6 yr old that needs friends. My little guy is a smart whipper snapper... and if your kids could focus say ...on Lego StarWars... or Lego Indiana Jones... they'd be friends for ever:-) Could you talk to some of the moms to help explain?? I'd welcome the opportunity to show love to someone who needs a friend... Heck... I'm pretty much in "normal" range... and I could use friends, too. Friends are important:-) Good Luck! Oops... forgot that this wasn't the original post... I did read that, too!!
  12. Well, for dogs.... leash on dog when out of crate (and your hand at the other end:-) ... for a while... till you can trust them... So that they can be out of the crate... but with you not distracted:-) Carrie
  13. Could you travel there for a week, travel somewhere else for another week and a half... and end up back there? So... you could really get to visit her during the time (or well... the kids could:-) and then end up back there... but kinda have a break for part of it?? Carrie:-)
  14. Yup... crates and Tomato staking your puppy... Easier not to get into bad habits.. than to fix them:-) Carrie:-)
  15. I just saw something about this, too! I'd like to know... and if there's a problem with an ex and homeschooling... I'd love it if they'd help on that, too! Carrie
  16. I've looked at the book and like it... and I think I'm gonna get the DVDs...for my group...next year. My kids walked around saying "Burrundi" "-) Of course, I'm not sure I spelled that correctly:-) Carrie:-)
  17. I'd try to squish him under the seat. Is he over the "rules" for under? If not, squishy is better than the cargo... Carrie
  18. Off the top of my head..... is the grammar needed for Latin, not lightening his "grammar" load? Where is he in Latin? For me, I consider it "Logic" of a sort, too. And, of course, I suppose it's "Where is he in Latin?" Also, is he in 7th this year? Carrie:-)

  21. SO, I had our year planned out with LCC (on paper), and each time I saw something "fun" I'd go back and look at the LCC....but when I started... "wow" you actually have to have the books..... (Science,,,history.... etc...) She's in 6th.... and some of them.... aren't enough! We're only in week 4... so still time to pack on more.... I have to say, I would have purchase a packaged "6th grade, minus Greek" package. How do I make even the easiest.... Hard??
  22. You just ask at the store, and they order them in for you... at least mine did:-) I got my Stainless Steel Espresso maker for $150... which was half normal price... and not extra for Stainless Steel like the new ones. I only got a years warranty... but I figured that half price... half the amount of warranty... was good. :-) It's lasted years, now:-) Carrie
