I'm considering going back to wheat. . .
SonshineLearner replied to rafiki's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Yes... that's us :) I did look at some info from a local Insurance Company here, "Kaiser" ;) But forgot that it had a name... I also get itchy when eating ....raw almonds.... and other raw nuts. Kinda funny that most of the "good foods" for me are on the "not" list... :( No raw carrots, raw sweet potatoes.... raw nuts... etc...I can have bananas again, now ;) Sucks when you're trying for a healthy diet ;) -
Ok, so here's the scoop. I use Light Mountain Natural. Color the Gray. "Light Brown". It's a two step process. First, you mix up the henna packets.... one for before... and one for after... The first makes your hair that is gray... kinda orange or pink. Don't freak out... :) The second grabs the pink or orange and colors that.. in addition to the rest. Mine turns a bit of a red/brown and then as it grows out... it's a gradual thing. You really would need to do it about every 6 wks if you want it to "keep colored"...... I get it through my co-op for $8 a box. I think it's about $16 at the Health Food Store.... I think it's worth it. I got my hair highlighted... and spent about $80 (friend that did it... said she was giving me a "break" :)) Anyway, the highlights didn't cover the gray... Just gave me highlights... not what I wanted... I also bought one of the little hairdryers you sit under... to cure it. (You have to keep your hair warm for about 45 minutes to cure the henna) After the first time... it's just about a 2 hr commitment... which is about what getting it done in the shop requires... and much less $$$ :)

Sorry for you!! With my daughter "just" allergic to peanuts and some nuts, I know it's hard!! If you had the other stuff, too, it'd have to be even harder. I have no idea about how much wheat before you could tell.... I have friends who have done the "gut cleansing" diet and other things... I wonder why we are having such a problem with food... Also, what is OAS? My daughter and I aren't able to eat some fruits and veggies raw.... (mouth itches... throat problems...eeeek...) Just curious about that :) -

2nd grader handwriting like kindergartener. . .
SonshineLearner replied to a topic in K-8 Curriculum Board
I ordered the 3rd grade book... teacher guide, too... for HWOT. IT's great! He's done well, and I like starting them with cursive first. I had tried the SWR cursive... but it was too difficult. Within a week or two, his handwriting had improved. I did the "pencil flip" and then literally just made him do the letter correctly, with me standing there.... Stickers help too :) I let him pick out a package to use on his "best" letters... :) -

Thanks!! :) -
You're too too funny!! ;) What I'm wondering, is how to make it so I have the font I desire, without changing it each time. I can do the signature just right... but the "message of the post" is something I can't find on the controls. Since you're not busy making beef stock with a cow, could you help me? :)

How can we really make 2011 better?
SonshineLearner replied to Nakia's topic in General Education Discussion Board
May the next year, be better than the end of this one :) I'm sick... bored.... and Dish was canceled :( I have been reading about Early Church Fathers. My life seems good, when compared... <Run to get Kleenex> I am going to write a good memory about childhood, or something to be thankful for.. at least once a week. Kinda like the "Facebook app" where it goes and gets all your statuses... and then at the end of 2011... I can hopefully see all my happy memories and thoughts.... Now it's time to head back to bed.. :) -
Question for atheists and pantheists
SonshineLearner replied to Mom-ninja.'s topic in General Education Discussion Board
I'd suggest NKJV because it has some of the beauty with words(of the KJV), but a little more understandable. :) -
No worries about this part. They aren't shoving anything down her throat. They just wanted to present the opportunity of salvation. Of course, nothing is real if it's not heartfelt, and so they aren't just looking for a "yes". They are also doing what you're suggesting... talking of memories.... taking pictures... just loving on her. Thanks for the suggestions and prayers :)

Kinda a "Nourishing Traditions" type thing :) -
So, Here's our New Year's prayer request. My husband is with his sister, in MI, one last time. Everyone knows that this is "good-bye", because she has Lou Gehrigs Disease, and she's had it for quite a while. She's on liquids for nourishment, and on a breathing machine... She's sad and scared, as knowing that you're so close to death, is hard. Seeing all your family together, while they are planning to be living... and they are preparing for you to die... feels... so... unfair.... and sad... and alone... even though there is family around you. The "CC" part of this, is that she doesn't profess faith in Christ. My husband and his brother and his wife... are all going to be able to share the gospel... again... this Saturday. Perhaps tomorrow, too. We'd love prayer that his sister's heart will be ready to accept God's love for her... and that she will be able to accept God's free gift of grace and be "at peace." We'd appreciate prayer ;)

Just in case your sis is at a pet store, I bought a lovely canned cat food that both of my kitties can't refuse... It's Soulistic and just makes them.... swoon ;) It's grain free and there's one with gravy and some with gelee.... Mine have loved both.... Maybe it would be worth a try..... or warmed up baby "Kitten" formula... just to get something in it..

Virginia textbooks full of errors
SonshineLearner replied to treestarfae's topic in General Education Discussion Board
That is really sad; why would they.... pay for such trash? They should "demand" for better editions... for corrections... to be made... Makes you think they'd hang their heads in shame!! -
There are little paper filters that you can purchase on Amazon for the K-cup. You stick the filter in "their" reusable thing and then you just throw the paper filter away. Has anyone used the paper filter? I'd love for Keurig to develop refills with brown paper filters that are "filled" and then you pop those in.... Instead of the plastic.

Thinking of you, too!! I hope "your cancer" isn't "yours" and went into "poof" land!! :) I pray you'll not only be here for your 20th, but for your 50th :) (at least... I have no idea how old you are :))
