I find your language offensive. I care about moral/imoral issues, but I am not a political junkie. Some people call it politics, but I don't. -
Where can I find a swimsuit for 13 year old dd
MBH replied to Only me's topic in General Education Discussion Board
If she needs to try it, then I would go to a sporting/swimming store. Where we live, there is a store that specializes in swimwear. Once you find the swimsuit she likes, then you can look for it online (sometimes it's cheaper online). I would look in the yellow pages under swimming, swimwear, etc. -
Your pre-competitive ds will probably do just fine eating generally healthy meals. Some kids at that level become tired because their strokes are inefficient. In addition, they need to get in better swimming shape. Both of those areas will improve as he swims more. At higher levels of competitive swimming, diet becomes important on account of high amounts of yardage during training. Also, diet is an issue before swim meets. However, at the pre-competitive level, diet is not really an issue beyond the need for a generally well-balanced diet.

What do you use for family devotionals?
MBH replied to A home for their hearts's topic in General Education Discussion Board
We are reading the Bible through one year with the "Daily Bread" stories and schedule. Then we discuss questions/concerns and end with prayer. Vos Child's Story Bible was great when they were younger. -

Tami, Excellent observation! Unfortunately 50% of the world does not practice what you mentioned above. -

Rhonda, Great answer. I love it. -
Unfortunately, Ebay changed their rules. Now, as a seller you have to have "Premier Paypal Account" in order to sell. And you will be charged I think 3.9% per transaction. You have to look at the "fees" section of Paypal. Last time I tried to sell on Ebay with my "Personal Account", Paypal upgraded my account (without any advanced notice) to "Premier Account" once I accepted payment from "Premier Account". Outside of Ebay, you can accept credit card payments (Premier Account) 5 times per year with a fee of 3.9% or 4.9% per transaction (I can't remember which). I always ask the buyer if they have "Personal" or "Premier" account ahead of time.

If you are selling books on Ebay, you must have a "Premier Paypal Account". If you are selling books on homeschooling websites, a "Personal Paypal Account" is sufficient. Sometimes people call "Personal Paypal Account" a non-credit card account. After a person decides to buy your books, all you have to do is give them the email address to which your paypal account is connected to. They will go to their paypal account and send money to the email address you indicated.

Free or almost free classical education?
MBH replied to LMA's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Sometimes the local private and public schools give away brand new and used books to homeschoolers. She could always leave her name and phone number with them. Or sometimes homeschoolers who quit homeschooling give away books for free. -
I need words of reconciliation for a relationship
MBH replied to Chris in VA's topic in General Education Discussion Board
If his, his wife's, or his children's birthday is approaching, I would use it as an excuse to call and say that you were thinking of them and see how the conversation is going. If it goes well, then ask him if there is anything you have done to offend him. Sometimes people don't talk to each other, not necessarily because they don't like each other. Rather, it can be because their values are so different that they don't see any hope of having a relationship. Just a thought. Most likely he likes you, but doesn't agree with your values. -

I love the way you gave specifice examples of how the Lord provides, cares, and loves. The Lord knows the future and is in control of the world. His grace is sufficient. -
Ok, so if not BSF, then what?
MBH replied to Julie in CA's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Julie, I know you have already decided on a Bible Study that will work with your schedule and I am happy for you. Just for the record, having been in BSF for 14 years, I cannot emphasize enough how much the Lord used BSF to change my life. There were some negative comments made by a Christian on this website who has never been to BSF. BSF is nothing like what was described in a previous thread. In case your schedule changes in the future, please give BSF a chance and see for yourself if the Bible is thought in an in-depth and challenging manner or not. Their rules are established for the classes they have all over the world. Someone, somewhere in the world did something to bring about a new guideline. The guidelines and procedures are there to protect the members. They are not there to make people miserable. Please let me know what you think of Precepts. -
I have not seen any of the shows, nor have I met them yet. What I do know comes from watching them on YouTube and their website. Their family loves the Lord and wants to share their way of life with the rest of the world. It is their ministry. They want the world to know that there is hope. Their hope is in Christ alone. That there are teenagers out there who respect their parents and love God. Jim-Bob cannot possibly be dumb. He is a real estate investor. Their house is beautiful because real estate is his business. They are debt-free because they were careful with their money and resources and invested wisely.
