  1. "spoon-fed in the classroom" - that's pretty condescending and insulting
  2. There is absolutely nothing to do in our state at this point. Restaurants are only allowed to do take out, there is hardly any food or paper products to buy in stores, and anyplace that normally has more than 20 people in it is shut down. I don't know what the government thinks is going to happen long term, but this is certainly not sustainable.
  3. The cursive seems a little crazy, but I would expect most 5 year olds to be able to count to 100.
  4. We're allowing our kids to socialize normally. (One on one, small groups)
  5. Our state isn't telling people to do anything differently at this point except wash hands more often... so we aren't in panic mode at all. The lack of TP in stores is a little alarming though!
  6. If only this was a reality. There are so many people without support systems. This ideology would fail them.
  7. I would start the Pulmicort as a precautionary measure. Asthma can get very serious very quickly.
  8. I think students have always compared grades. I don't see it as a big deal.
  9. Many teen drivers aren't even minors. But regardless, kids will find places to have sex if they want to. Watching a movie in a car in a parking lot wouldn't make me think sex, but to each her own I suppose!
  10. I guess my question is - is it really anyone's business? These are late teens...drivers. Micromanaging what they do with their bodies seems pretty inappropriate. A public parking lot isn't a place kids will get naked....
  11. Any update? How is your daughter doing?
  12. I see nothing wrong with this. ETA: I'm not sure what there is to "think through." I sit in the car and chat with friends sometimes. It's private and sometimes it's hard to find a place to speak alone, especially when you are a teen.
  13. Medication is typically needed for OCD, though there are people who manage without it.
  14. A typical intake appointment with a psychiatrist is an hour or more. It is absolutely ok to ask the psychiatrist for specific testing if you have concerns.
  15. If the issue is depression/anxiety, low vitamin D is definitely a factor. My son's level was 13. We supplement heavily now. It's still on lower end.
  16. Anyone who has ever had a puppy knows they are terrors!
  17. I think paper is...delicious. It's a problem with our Frenchie too.
  18. I can't even fathom tying a 3 year old to chair. Let him move his body.
  19. Rather than deciding to charge them money so you are benefitting from the job at a greater percentage than was originally agreed upon, I'd simply require that they put a specific % into their savings account to be used later for a car, college expenses, expensive hobbies, etc.
  20. Any update on this OP? Were you able to find a workable solution?
  21. My baby shower was a complete surprise. The girl who hosted it did everything in secret, including making a registry. She asked everyone to bring diapers in addition to a gift. I was pretty mortified...but had zero idea until after that any of it was happening.
  22. 4H is actually not all animals. There are many that focus on other activities. I would look into that.
  23. The standards of 'competency' are pretty low, and even with a form signed that they can speak to you - you don't have authority to refuse treatment. I doubt they would do ECT without a discussion though...
