  1. I am so sorry. I would encourage him to attend, because you only get one chance to attend those services - if you skip it out of discomfort and then later you feel ready to go through it, the opportunity has passed. I think it’s best just to get through it.
  2. I did a store search on their website and our Ace stores come up - also our Farm and Fleet - so I have two places to check ? I’m excited !
  3. I have definitely been looking at the wrong brand. I liked it because I got really good results with their plain white cabinet paint in our bathrooms, so I thought I would use that brand for the kitchen as well, but now I see their colors were limiting and Benjamin Moore has much better color choices. I will go to Ace tomorrow and get some of their chips and maybe a sample - I think I’m closing in on a color now - thank you for the help !
  4. Thank you ! I am driving myself batty with this.
  5. It’s really hard to choose the perfect gray-brown. I don’t think greige is the right name, because I definitely want darker that beige. But it’s really hard to find one that is not too green/purple/yellow/blue. The perfect color is one I see everywhere, but can’t match to a paint chip. Just a nice cool brown with a touch of gray, that is not too dark.
  6. Also I make a mocha fudge version of the Wilton Buttercream by using Hershey Extra Dark cocoa powder in the frosting, and for the liquid I use cold very strong coffee. I put it on Crazy Cake (also dairy and egg free) that I made with the extra dark cocoa and cold strong coffee as part of the liquid. Mocha fudge cake !
  7. We both do. Kids also make themselves food, but they don’t often make anything for someone else to eat, and they don’t make dinner unless they’ve been told that we’re not making it.
  8. I make the Wilton Buttercream recipe using palm oil shortening (not hydrogenated) and Earth Balance sticks. I use any non dairy milk.
  9. Tell him to stay the F out, and that it’s now a deal breaker. If he won’t stay out, schedule a marriage counselor for the next day. If this insistence on violating your privacy is a fetish for him and he’s observing you when you have said it’s NOT okay, there is a huge problem here.
  10. I wash with a light oil first, like light olive or sesame, using just like a soap that gets rubbed around with warm water and then rinsed off. Then with a moisturizing liquid hand soap. Store brand milk and honey or cocoa butter hand soaps are usually pretty gentle.
  11. $5K, no insurance. I put it on a points card and then did a no fee balance transfer to a low interest card. Got a lot of points, lol !
  12. I would choose mascara and curled eyelashes, lip gloss and feminine jewelry, especially earrings.
  13. I use lavender oil to smell, Valerian tea to drink ( get some zz from republic of tea) and natural calm calcium magnesium drink. There is also 5htp and CDB oil from industrial hemp ( not mj) to consider.
  14. I would keep it simple - she cannot become a different race, but she can admire this dancer and recognize that she overcame hardship, and that sometimes hardship is associated with race. She can explore that and learn more about it. She can have friends of different races and economic backgrounds, and be a sensitive and compassionate person.
  15. Urgent hunger for food that isn’t needed really sucks. It’s hard to ignore, very distracting, and shadows everything. I would love to be able to just turn it off.
  16. It’s very elegant ? I gave up on short hair due to crazy wings, and if it’s shorter than crazy wing length, it goes straight out in all directions and I look like a brush or a Koosh ball.
  17. I am wondering if anyone else out there has the same thing going on. I have an alarm going off, kind of like a biological clock but not about babies. I am approaching 50. I no longer have a career, and I will have to start all over to make one, but I think I’m still too tied up with kids to be a reliable employee anywhere. I’m a little good at a lot of things, but not super good at anything. I’m homeschooling two kids, almost two teens, who need and want me less and less each day, except for money and transportation (IMO this is not a bad thing). I have no idea what’s next or when I can begin whatever it is. And then there are also the usual depressing anchors of being a bit overweight and the house not being ready for a photo shoot, lol. I feel humdrum and unremarkable. I’m taking care of what matters most to me right now, and that’s good. I worry that when I feel freed up for something different, it will be too late in life for anything to work out. I wonder if it’s possible that I can be one of those women who at 60 is a bodybuilder/triathlete etc, gets a tattoo ( I don’t like them but I’m flexible), starts a business on a crazy idea and becomes a millionaire ? I’m thinking a lot about what life might be like in 5-6 years.
  18. Teens had hair bands, mousse, spiked cuts, dippity do gel, and all those teen movies. Adult women were dressing for success. Concerns were the USSR, AIDS and apartheid. New age philosophy was somewhat a thing. That and aerobics !
  19. Maybe CBD ? https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thesleepdoctor.com/2017/08/10/understanding-cbd/amp/
  20. I called and completely lost it on the phone. I had no child care, no family, husband would not be in town, and a kid who absolutely could not be left with a sitter who wasn't qualified. The clerk was super annoyed and told me to calm down. I asked to have it deferred until a time when I would have some help, but it was just cancelled.
  21. I bought a 3 pack of Schmidt’s at Costco. I don’t know if they will always have it, but it was a good deal.
  22. I like the Scmidt’s Rose and Vanilla but only because I like the scent, and it’s moisturizing and easy on shaved skin. It does not stop sweat though, so if I wear it alone, I end up adding antiperspirant gel later in the day, or at least spritzing with some rose witch hazel to freshen up. I hate to say it, but I can usually tell when people choose natural DO. (I actually wrote a haiku about this ! Health food stores smell like Essential oils and BO - Natural armpits. ) I never ever hold it against people - I know they are clean and making a health related choice. It’s fine. I have a very sensitive smeller and I smell all kinds of things, and that is just one of them. I’m sure I bring my own bouquet as well. I think people should be clean, use what they like, and perhaps reinforce as the day goes on if necessary.
  23. Many years ago, a friend and I gathered a bunch of cash and stood in a long line for a long time to purchase four concert tickets, cash only. When we got up to the window, it turned out that with the taxes and fees, we were short and would only be able to buy three. The man behind us in line heard everything and he gave us the cash we needed for the for the fourth ticket and gave me his address so I could send him a check.
