Our district allows homeschoolers to participate in athletics, but I haven't yet had a child want to participate in other activities, so I don't know their policy.

Maybe. I'm looking ahead to cheerleading for my daughter. I hope that it will work out in junior high to be only partially enrolled or something, but we'll see.

I love carrot cake, but I'd be very sad to bite into a slice with raisins and *shudder* walnuts. I'd forgive a small amount of golden raisins. ;)

The recipe I use most often is the American Soft White (or something like that). I mix it in my KitchenAid and put it directly into loaf pans after baking. I do have containers for other recipes (from Amazon) and a pizza peel and stone, but I don't use them as often. I use them for pizza, but I usually depend on parchment paper more than anything.

Artisan Bread in Five! I made three loaves once a week for sandwiches...and a batch for pizza/calzones/whatever about every two weeks.

Ahhhh...I was given a professional series Kitchenaid (from Costco ;) )for Christmas last year and I just adore it. What a treat after using a crappy hand mixer forever.

I agree, it's not like the "My *swoosh* is bigger than yours" that *I've* seen at the sporting goods store. ;)

I also guilted my 15 year old into cleaning/vacuuming the interior of my car. That's a pretty awesome victory in my book. ;) And I just pulled a pan of Pioneer Woman's chicken spaghetti out of the oven and had two Oreo-stuffed chocolate chip cookies in addition to my diet food for lunch. :D

I'm having a great day! I'm just hanging out at home (it stinks that my husband has to work, but he doesn't have a choice). But, I'm all jacked up on coffee from the new Keurig that my daughter insisted on buying for me. :D

As someone who's a bit on the lazy side athletically? I would be embarrassed to wear it. If I were a relatively quick runner? I'd love it. Especially because it happens to be my kid's baseball team's colors. I'd buy one for him if it came in a men's small size. He's a big fan of Nike and he's a pretty darn quick 13 year old...he recently ran a mile in just over 5 minutes. ;)

I had to really change my expectations in order to enjoy Mother's Day. For the last few years, I've treated myself. Last week I treated myself to a full salon treatment on my hair and an expensive pedicure. It felt good. :D Also, I have three sons and a daughter. My daughter, just 10, has always made it a priority that Mother's Day is celebrated well. :001_wub:

Funny. I have 3 boys. 2 of them have names in the top 25. The other one, Austin, is the one who always ends up with friends/teammates/classmates who share his name. He is one of 3 Austin's on his baseball team right now. One year there were 5 Austins on his football team. There's ALWAYS been at least 2. Alex, whose name is 4th on the list, doesn't have any friends/teammates/classmates named Alex. I can think of one boy that he played baseball with 3 years ago who was named Alex. :D
