  1. Levels should double every 2.3 days........so don't forget that 'point three'.........it matters....... I know women who gave birth to beautiful wonderful babies and they began with low numbers. In addition, ask your doc if they do a progesterone smear.........it's kind a like a Pap smear without a speculum. Progesterone must "clump" to be effective. The smear shows if the progesterone is clumping. If not, they usually prescribe crinone gel as well. I had that issue when I was pg with my now 13 yr old twins...so I did progesterone injections as well as crinone for quite awhile.
  2. Recent news suggests that the lack of a debris field might point to the fact that an explosion did not occur (I.e., a bomb). The Vietnamese military has spotted two oil slicks, and as I said, no debris field around those oil slicks. An Air Force officer indicated in the news a few minutes ago that the oil slick and no debris field point to possibly crashing into the South China Sea.....which does not mean that the aircraft was not forced down in a terrorist act. (I do not know how to do smilies on my ipad but I am heartbroken about all this). Malaysia Airlines has an excellent safety record according what I have heard last night and this morning and the Boeing 777 has a good safety record. The crew was, from what I have learned, extremely experienced. This hits so close to home because of the affection our family has for Heather and her family when they visited and we got to know each other.......actually, it was like we had always known each other. It was fascinating to hear them speak of Malaysia and how they dispelled all of our incorrect ideas about that part of the world. Additionally, because of heather and Co., ds13 is doing his Adopt a Country semester long project on Malaysia. He and I have learned so much about this beautiful country in the past couple of months......history, geography. As we listen to the news, we know where every location is. Prayers for everyone affected by this terrible event.
  3. My amazing, top endocrinologist told me that the two were linked......I had never heard of it before either. I think that PF was in the list of troubling symptoms in my initial intake packet. Mary Shoman may also write about it......I know have posted on her Facebook page about the success I have had with barefoot science. I switch the product out depending on what shoes I am wearing and toss the insole (not the rectangular pop in and out insert) in the washing machine when necessary and they air dry in a matter of minutes. I think my doc also told me to avoid walking barefoot in the house......I slip on my shoes with the BFS insole as soon as I get out of bed in the a.m. I can tell you honestly that it has been an amazing, positive product for me. My mom had cortisone injections a few times and was going to undergo those again when I had these sent to her. They are worth trying. Good luck!

I have PF and learned that it often accompanies thyroid issues (I have hashimoto's). Last summer the pain was so intense, it could bring me to tears (and I have a very high pain threshold). My dh saw these on a business trip, called, asked my size, and brought them home for me. They have been nothing short of a miracle. By day three, I noticed improvement. By week two, I was pain free and have stayed pain free for six months now. I bought these for my mom as she suffers from PF, and her experience is similar. I cannot say enough about this product.
  5. Happy birthday!!!!!!! He is wonderful.......my kids adore all of you as do Mariano and I! Hope it is a great celebration!
  6. We have a 2011.........I never in a million years thought I would own one of these but it has been one of the best vehicles we have ever owned. Our Volvo was getting ready to give up the ghost and was getting repaired, and we rented "anything" while it was in the shop. I drive the caravan for about 20 minutes and asked my husband what it was I was driving.......he got out, walked around to the back, got back in the car and told me. We went and had purchased one by the end of the day. It has never needed more than scheduled oil changes, tires, brakes. I drive ALOT!!!!!! It seats 7 which was a requirement, has a DVD player (another req), and has great pick up. I hate cars that don't have pick up. Hth
  7. Thank you so very much! Yes........two weeks, I think. Dd14 will be on campus at Stanford Law School. I may bring her out and get her settled, enjoy a few days alone, and then have dh and twins join me so their visit is one week. Thank you immensely for the suggestion to plan certain things well in advance......I usually do not know what we are having for dinner till I walk into wegman's at 4:59p.m.........chronic procrastinator. Again, thank you for these wonderful suggestions........I am going to start planning this immediately. ✈ï¸ðŸŒ‰
  8. Good morning! We will be visiting San Francisco/Palo Alto this July.......dh, dd and ds13, and me.......dd14 will be attending a seminar near by. Would you kindly share your best tips/suggestions on where to stay, what to see, go here, don't go there, must see/visit? Thanks in advance.
  9. I didn't know you are on fb. I will send you a friend request.......when you see my first name you will know it is me......I use my maiden name on fb. We would all love to see more pix. The beaches we have seen on line make me want to come visit. Gorgeous! Michael would probably want you to send a monkey!!! 🵠or three! So he would have props when he tells about the monkey gates on your apartment windows! You are so sweet to offer to send stuff.........the fact that he knows a family living in Malaysia, that family visited and stayed with us barely two years ago, well.......he is going to do just fine. We miss you all............hugs to all of you! I cannot believe how big Natalie is!
  10. ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’ðŸ’congrats!
  11. Hi, heather....... I just want to chime in and say that Michael is doing a massive adopt a country project and he selected Malaysia. The photos we have looked at are gorgeous. What a beautiful country! Hope you are all well! Love, Mariann
  12. Hi, heather......just before you all came to D.C., I was on a Frazier binge. In the past, I would never miss Dawson's Creek (13 years ago?), that hair salon show where the blonde would shut the shop down and fire people and then re-open the new and improved shop, House Hunters International, Judge Judy, Brothers and Sisters (with Sally Field).......the re-runs would air on SoapNet at midnight Saturday and play through 7a.m.........SoapNet went off the air and there is no more Saturday night binge, Gilmore Girls. Hope you are all well. Twins are doing adopt a country projects and Michael is doing Malaysia. He has his soccer shirt, the pens and the purses sitting in a box for his presentation......which is not until May. And he gas been reading your blog and enjoying the photos. Malaysia is gorgeous. Hugs to you all. G-d bless.
  13. Hi, Chris......... We first went to an ophthalmologist for a complete exam. When that was fine, we went to Dr. Malhotra in Vienna (church street, I think). She does the eval and one proceeds from there. I know more than a few families who are current patients of hers right now and are as pleased as we were.
  14. I have no relationship with her. She is passive aggressive, sneaky, selfish, and I prefer not to deal with her. She never calls the house because she has no desire to speak to me nor I to her. I gave up going out of my way to be warm and loving to her about 15 months ago.....I don't know what she wants, but it is not a relationship with me. I have kept my mouth shut about her, and she has basically dug her own grave as far as dh is concerned. He sees what a loon she is. It is sad because dh's dad has Alzheimer's. She kept the diagnosis from us for almost two years. And her way of dealing with it is to basically "hide" her husband in the house with her. She is causing him to go downhill faster than he has to, but she told me that she doesn't want this to go on any longer than it has to. She really makes me sick.
  15. Hi, Kari, and ((((((hugs))))) to you all! This is the first year I actually was ready to plan something new and different. Vacation is usually a week or two in the outer banks, but I was looking forward to trying something new. I was researching Disney cruises to Europe, Disney cruises to Alaska, a Disney cruises to the caribbean.......all dates, etc., hinging on last day of school dates and moving dates. THEN, dd14 gets invited to a 10 day Law School seminar at Stanford Law School.........everything paid except transportation. It is the middle of July. SO, we are all going to San Francisco and while dd is at her seminar (which does include sightseeing and field trips), we will vacation there and see the sights. How do I feel about it? No offense to San Francisco (my parents lived there years ago and adored it) but I am "meh" about it. I had really wrapped my brain around a cruise.......to Europe or the Catibbean. But we are thrilled for M and certainly want her to have this amazing experience........and I have always wanted to go to Fisherman's Wharf. I guess it's time for me to step out of my comfort zone.
  16. I read that he was not prepared for the collateral issues that came with making $50,000./day. The story went on to say that "If you already had Flappy Bird, and if you liked Flappy Bird, you could keep your Flappy Bird."
  17. My granddaughter's middle name is Quinn.......she is 17 months old. We have friends whose ds' name is Quinn.......he is 19 (and, apropos of nothing, he was an extra in both Hunger Games films).
  18. Dh went with kids today. They all loved it.
  19. My first three were girls and they all weighed 7lbs 15oz. #s 4 and 5 were girl/boy twins. At 36 wks gestation, dd was 5lb 9 oz. Ds was 6lbs 7oz. I often wonder why I can remember those numbers, but not my phone number..........
  20. I will definitely watch that interview. I LOVE him on HOMELAND. I have known David Marciano, HOMELAND's Virgil, my entire life........our families are very, very close. Mandy is probably THE only person I would like to meet from the show.......and Damien Lewis.......and F. Murray Abraham.......oh, and Clare Danes...........okay, everyone except the Senator Lockhart character.
  21. Here goes......... Kids at music festival all day..........drive Tile and wood floors cleaned Everything straightened for open house tomorrow Prepare meal to bring to homeschooling family with a recovering from surgery mom Hair appt Finish new message center/mission control wall in laundry room Totally clean ds13's closet and lowest shelf in kitchen pantry.
  22. Flat surfaces kept bare really does help........that doesn't mean one should sweep the stuff off and put it in a closet.....be ruthless, hefty trash bags, toss, toss, toss. When the flat surfaces are bare, even a pencil left out will look 'wrong' to you. CLEAN AS YOU GO.........that is a favorite method when cooking, but someone mentioned doing a quick pick up multiple times a day and that is great advice. Get accustomed to things being uncluttered.......not looking uncluttered but being uncluttered. Someone else said "you can't clean clutter." Excellent.........so true. Develop the habit, get accustomed to the look of decluttered, read some of materials suggested. If you are motivated, and it sounds like you are, something will click and work for you.
