busymama7
I am needing to wait each evening this month for about 2 1/2 hrs too far from home to drive back and forth for one of my sons activities. I wouldn't mind if I had somewhere to go and watch a few shows and knit. It seems the free wifi at restaurants I've tried is not strong enough for streaming. Any other ideas? LuvToRead
If you have netflix, you may be able to download a show to your device before you leave the house.

Farrar
It's strong enough at our Panera most of the time. YMMV on that though. Downloading is the most failsafe way though.
Rachel
The Y? Most places with free WiFi have slow WiFi.
Arcadia
Libraries, Starbucks, Peet’s, McDonald’s, Burger King were all okay for watching YouTube on my phone using their free WiFi. Some high bandwidth YouTube videos won’t stream though. My kids have done online classes using library’s free WiFi but it is during off peak hours. When many people are using WiFi, quality drop. Rachel
When many people are using WiFi, quality drop.Yes! I can stream music at the Y when it’s mid morning or mid afternoon when it’s kind of slow. In the early evening when the after work crowd is there, forget it. solascriptura
I’ve streamed videos at Starbucks many times.
busymama7
Library? Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk I will try that tonight. I can download from Netflix but the show I am currently watching is via the ABC app and I really don't want to start another

AmandaVT
I can use my phone as a hotspot and get really fast speeds that way. That might be an option if your data plan is big enough?
catz
I've had hit and miss luck with places like Starbucks and Panera, but more good than bad. You may need to try individual shops and it might depend on how busy it is. When my kid was just in a theater production, I had the best luck at the local public libarary. I could park outside it after hours and even watch Netflix . LOL.

plansrme
We have streamed a class at Chick-fil-A when our internet was out. It was mid-morning, though, off-peak hours for them. A lot of free wi-if seems to slow down when it gets busy, so maybe your best bet is to try whatever is least crowded.
busymama7
The library worked perfectly last night. Comfy, relatively quiet and I was able to request a book before settling down to watch a show. Now my only challenge is finding enough clean shows to keep me occupied until these productions are over ;)
