JWSJ
Homemade sweet tea has gotten somewhat boring lately. What have ya done for less boring sweet tea? I'm open to everything except less sugar...
Tap
Have you tried brewing flavored teas? Peach, mint, raspberry?
Ellie
Or brewing "regular" tea but adding sprigs of mint? Yummo.
Alexandra
pretty yummy. I like it with a little lemon and mint.
Pamela H in Texas
Flavored tea is an option....using flavored liquid stevia instead of some of the sugar may also be an option.
Suzybearybake
Try mixing sweet tea with ginger ale.
Jann in TX
Celestial Seasonings has a Peach-Apricot-Honeybush that makes an EXCELLENT addition to my sweet tea. My middle dd and her friends always beg for this and leave any soda we happen to have alone (and these kids LOVE their soda). I make my regular tea (Usually Lipton-- 4 bags for 2 quarts). When it has finished brewing I take the plain bags out and put 1-2 of the Peach-Apricot-Honeybush bags in for about 5 minutes. It has a much more mild taste than my regular Peach tea--and the additional flavors just seem to 'round out' the taste. That flavor is also excellent hot too! homeschoolmomtutu
Adding honey instead of sugar and crushing mint (stems and all) into it, then straining makes it oh...so...delicious:thumbup:
E_Edgerton
a lemon simple syrup to sweeten is a nice change to just the sweetness of sugar. I also like the ginger ale and honey/mint ideas.
SnowWhite
Oooo, ooo, ooo. Buy Constant Comment tea. I think Bigelow makes this and it's TO DIE FOR. Great hot or iced. Could be expensive though I suppose.
AuntieM
Bigelow's Plantation Mint with the regular ones next time you brew a batch. Definitely leave the sugar in! :cheers2: Also, if you like a slice of lemon in your tea, try a wedge of fresh lime instead.
