Princess5
Where to buy certified glasses to view the solar eclipse safely?
dsmith
I believe our local Walmart has them from Vision Scientific, ISO certified, so maybe yours will, too.
Beth S
We're in the totality zone, and our library is giving them away free (2 per day). They're having an Eclipse Watch in their grassy area! We were in totality in 2017, & Walmart was giving them out for free then. Edited March 19 by Beth S
Kassia
We bought these after reading about them in one of the threads here. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1750788-REG/american_paper_optics_eclipse10pk2_solar_eclipse_glasses_10_pack.html We're in totality and our Walmart is selling them at an inexpensive price. Some places are giving them away (like our county park district and library if you attend one of their programs).
gardenmom5
I bought some off Amazon. The 5pk were made in the US, and the 10 pk were made in germany. The 5pk worked out to be twice as much for 10 - BUT i did take them out of the package and looked at a lightbulb with them. . . . The 5pk blocked better than the german made 10pk. both were certified for the eclicpe - same brand too.

Pippen
All glasses sellers are claiming to be certified, but I wouldn't necessarily trust them. Below is the American Astronomical Society's list of safe suppliers. https://eclipse.aas.org/eye-safety/viewers-filters Our science department used glasses supplied by American Paper Optics, Lunt and Explore Scientific for the last eclipse. All were very good. I would also trust Flinn Scientific, even though they're not specifying a manufacturer. I ordered Celestron for my own adult kids: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N17N0MO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 No matter where you get them, check them carefully first. Look for scratches or holes. A very bright light in a dark room will reveal problems as well.
