hippiemamato3
An Aldi was recently built in our area, and I'm wondering if they have a decent selection of gluten free products. It's not that close to us, so if not I won't bother checking it out. Thanks for any thoughts you have!
SereneHome
I never look for GF items, but a guy I follow on youtube is very into it and he shops at Aldi a lot. He seems to always find weird-to-me items there.
cjzimmer1
I don't buy gluten free either but I've heard many people rave about what a good selection and taste of their gluten free products. I think it would definitely be worth your time to at least check it out once.
mommyoffive
I am currently watching a grocery haul of a family and they bought some gluten free stuff for their kids from there at aldi. But I don't but gluten free stuff.
Soror
They do have a decent GF selection and are good about marking their things GF. Now some things are just seasonal or special buys so not around all the time. Dd really likes their bread. I prefer WM and BRM flour mixes to theirs. MercyA
They have cookies, pretzels, other salty snacks, mixes, bagels, bread, and probably a lot more. We're not GF; those are just the things I've noticed.
marbel
My daughter's boyfriend has celiac disease, so she looks for GF snacky things to take when they meet up for a picnic date. They seem to have a pretty good selection. Their GF brownie mix is super, we make it for ourselves sometimes even though we don't need to eat GF.
Spryte
They have a line called Live G Free. We are GF, and have tried some of it. We are limited to the things labeled safe for our other allergens, so we can’t try it all. If you’ve ever had Enjoy Life products, the Live G Free snickerdoodles, chocolate, and chocolate chip cookies appear to be made by Enjoy Life and labeled for Aldi. Ditto the snack bars (we like the Enjoy Life cocoa loco bars, and the Aldi version is the same thing). We use their Gf pasta, too. They used to have chicken nuggets, not sure if they still do. The bagels and bread are ok but not our preference. There’s a decent selection of GF frozen items, too. We have only tried the chicken nuggets, due to other allergies. ETA: they have baking mixes as well - cakes, brownies, pizza crust and bread. Maybe more. I can’t attest to those, but imagine they would be worth a shot if you don’t have other allergies. Beth S
Aldi definitely has a great GF selection (Life GFree Brand). At our store, an entire end aisle is their GF brand. Their Cauliflower Tortilla Chips (Nacho Flavored), Baking Mix & (Brown Rice + Quinoa) Noodles are delicious.
Katy
It's worth a try. They regularly have things like pasta. It's not tinkyada, but it's better than a lot of brands and much cheaper. They have these flax chip crackers that are really delicious if you're into snack foods. If you see seasonal items like stuffing and fried onions (Thanksgiving ingredients) snap up several. They're very good and you can often only find them once a year. Some stores have gluten free aisles, others mix them in, others scatter them on endcaps. If you see that they're right next to or under something Whole Wheat, IME if you tell an employee that's not good for cross contamination reasons IME it will be fixed before you visit the store in the next week.
