Where do you shop for clothes for you?

I am in desparate need of some new modest, loose fitting tops and skirts. I do not sew! It is particularly hard for me to find clothes that fit me since I am only 5'3" and 105 pounds. I am open to on-line shopping since I hardly ever have time to get out! Any suggestions?

I tend to shop LL Bean, but I also like Land's End. \

I shop at Eddie Bauer predominately. They have the talls I need but I believe they also have petites and regulars.

 

 

I like that they show the fits of different items. i.e. They have several T-shirts, and they illustrate how each fits differently. The same is true with several of their items.

As a fellow petite (5', 95 lbs.) I have had the best luck with Lands End.

 

I also like Hanna Andersson (but only during sales!).

Ann Taylor's Loft and Eddie Bauer although I'm 5'9 so I have to find things that fit for length.

I love Ann Taylor Loft -- and they have a large selection of petites. That said, I'm not sure if they'll be "loose fitting" enough for you.

Those places mentioned are where a lot my stuff comes from. Lately, though, I have found a few nice, simple, knit tops at Talbots and Ann Taylor (not Loft) that were really cute for a nice price.

 

I have had a little luck with some cute knit type tops at Coldwater Creek too. But Coldwater Creek, I have found, runs larger. I am not petite (around 5'8" and a size 8) and have gotten XS and S from there so they may not work for you.

Lately it's been Goodwill & Value Village. I see a lot of small sizes. :D Sunday I wore a Goodwill outfit to church, and received more compliments on it than I think I've received on any outfit I've worn in a long, long time. :)

I shop exclusively at thriftstores unless I can get new for the same price (AND it is Made in Mexico). One of the reasons we make a yearly trip to the US is to shop at thriftstores.

I shop at Anne Taylor, Anne Taylor Loft, Lucky, Anthropologie and White House/Black Market.

Lands' End, Talbot's, J. Jill, and I'm planning to try Ann Taylor Loft after the baby's born.

I'm not petite, so I can't speak to that part, but I think if you're looking for clothes with a modest fit, Eddie Bauer is a great choice. Land's End too. Possibly Talbot's. I have also found that I can find some very stylish clothes at Kohl's that are a more modest fit.

I ordered some riding skirts from Chadwicks, but I buy most of my tops at J C Penny in their petite department.

 

I also have some luck at thrift stores. I bought a Talbots skirt for $3.00 (black moleskin).

I find that their clothes all fit well and the styles will last.

I have had recent luck at Christopher & Banks. Apparently they are online, if they aren't in your local mall. Not too trendy, but updated styles. I feel like I have to do a lot more 'searching' these days for clothes that have sleeves & aren't skin-tight!

I also shop exclusively at Thrift Stores, and have since,,,,um,,,,1980. Budget wise it has always made sense for us, and for me it is fun because it is all about the hunt. I try, really I try to sometimes find new clothes in stores, but I just never seem to. Somehow thrift store clothing is more broadly sized, and I am able (more) often to find things that actually fit my petite size 18-20 body. I also shop this way for my husband, and kids. call me crazy-it works for us, and keeps mommy and our budget happy.
