Angie in VA
As the mother of 2 musicians, I would say yes. It counts for multiple subjects. :coolgleamA:

Camy-7 boybarians 1 lady
I hope it counts as school.....actually, my daughter has been persuaded to read 1776 (McCullough) in order to fill in more historical details. She LOVES Hamilton!
MeaganS
We even watched the Alexander Hamilton episode of Liberty's Kids for some background info. My dd4 and dd5 are both obsessed with Phantom of the Opera right now and I was hoping to move that obsession a tad. Or at least broaden it. 😀
MeaganS
Haha, they've lost interest and are now just asking to watch Phantom. I lose. Maybe we'll do math after all...
BooksandBoys
Yep, it's a unit study in and of itself. Phantom too. :-) (I adore musicals.)
foxbridgeacademy
Two of my kids kids have listened to it at least 1/2 a dozen times each. DD had the first half on repeat on spotify all day. We will all be listening to it later this year since we're doing American History. So yeah, I count it as school.
FairProspects
Yes, absolutely. Hamilton has all kinds of amazing unit study and learning potential.
HeatherL
My son has never been as interested in US history as he is now that we listed to Hamilton all the time in the car. I just requested a hole bunch of related books from the library that he asked for!

smudge
I listen to that soundtrack non stop! My summer reading is Washington by Chernow, followed by Hamilton. So far I am 2/3 thru Washington...

Rebel Yell
http://graphics.wsj.com/hamilton/ Fascinating stuff... Also, my three girls can do the Schuyler Sisters song with harmonies and choreography. And pretty much most of the show. 😎 Totally obsessed here. We just bought season tickets for this year to our local Broadway tour theatre location, just to guarantee us seats when the Hamilton tour comes here for the 2017/2018 season. The kids can't wait!
BooksandBoys
The other day, I was trying motivate my kids to move out the door and said, "Gotta go, gotta go, gotta get the job done." My 2 year-old looked at me, deadpan, and said, "Gotta start a new nation, gotta meet my son...Wreck It Ralph."
