where are you going?

We had a guided tour of a pollinator garden by somebody from the extension service. It was good timing, as we've reached the ecology section of the biology book.

🐝 is for booyah!

Morning, Happy Thursday (it is Thursday right?)

Dh and I are leaving this afternoon to head down for his uncle's funeral.    We're staying over night in Atlantic City, going out to dinner.   The kids were fine with staying home alone and their big sister is available if they need anything.

I got most of my paperwork completed.  All summer camp plans are made and printed out, instructions for my admin are done and printed out, I updated rosters and databases so they are set up properly for my admin to fill in the blanks/add new people.

Some of my other to-dos aren't going to get done but I have time to do them.   Cleaning up my storage unit and finding the summer camp materials is going to have to wait.    I did order the supplies for summer that I knew I would need to buy.  I need to go through some inventory of stuff we already have to see if I need to order more of certain other things.    I'm going to try and have all the supplies together for each camp ahead of time.

Friday!!

Work!!

I can’t believe it’s June. Well, yesterday started June, but still….

I have to say, parenting has really sucked the last several months. #Isaidsucks.  Whoever said, “Little kids, little problems; big kids, big problems” really knew what they were talking about. I’m sorry I’m being cryptic, but this is a public forum. It’s just….you think you raise your kids right and then they go off and do stupid things.

We *finally* got baby's ITBS scores back, & they're great. Whew.

Ima do curbside orders at two different grocery stores today because nobody carries all the things. Waiting until the first one is ready until I finalize the second one in case First Store is out of things.

Good Evening, Happy Friday.

We're home from the funeral.

We had a decent time in Atlantic City.  Did  a tiny bit of gambling, relaxed in our hotel room.  It had a super deep tub so I took a nice warm bath.

Got in lots of steps because of course you have to walk through the entire casino to get from the parking garage to the rooms.

It was a good thing we went down there yesterday because the parkway was closed this morning due to some wildfires.   Then coming home the major highway we take was closed due to overturned truck/fuel spill and another major highway (route 80) was closed due to an overturned tractor trailer on fire.  It was the hottest June 2nd on record.

DH and DS left yesterday to drive DS to TN for the summer. Staying with my mom (Nana) and her husband (Papa Don). They offered. Last night after work it rained, so it was a boring night, but this morning the dog got an adventure walk (around the neighborhood but he gets to pick where we go and how long we stay out), and then he hung out with me in the back yard while I did yard work. I think we both need a nap.

The guys are currently in Destin doing <whatever is is that they do when they hang out together>.

Monday!!😩

This week is my last week of work. Tons to get done, but then summer vacation. Middle DD inspire me to make a 100 Things to Do This Summer list. Ugh. I’m only up to 30 ideas, and some I repeated. This is going to be a task.

30 things is better than none. Perhaps if you get that many done, your 31st thing can be to “add to the list “!

I"m not sure I checked in over the weekend at all.   We did some running around, talking to our new landlord about changing spaces, then I had a meeting with my new admin.

Landlord wants us to move to a space upstairs from where we are now.  Despite being upstairs, it's only 3 steps to get up to it so not really "up" stairs.    It's bigger, about twice the space we have now and he'd probably give it to me cheaper than expanding into spaces downstairs where we are now because the downstairs spaces are "retail" spaces and the upstairs space is more office (was a dentist).   For me, I don't need "retail" space since I don't need any kind of storefront.  People come to me purposely so I'm not looking for drive-by traffic.

Disadvantages are I would lose my small outside courtyard where we have a table with umbrella and some planters, fewer windows, a slightly longer walk from parking (but pretty minimal still), and we would be paying NNN (portion of taxes, insurance and maintenance) in addition to our rent.    But many of those things would likely be factors if we moved to somewhere else, plus the expenses of moving and likely a higher square foot rate.    And we really do need more space.
