Joyofsixreboot
What should I buy? My list is long but left to my own devices I'll get something for a kid. I'm trying to get over that so inquiring minds want to know What would YOU do?
marbel
I like their paperback classics, like this one. (I've read poor reviews of some of their translations, though, so be careful there.)
G5052
We were there this week, and I bought myself The Complete Sherlock Holmes. In fact, I bought two. One for me, and one for the teen that was with me!

My favorite Austen for what it's worth. fairytalemama-the latte is a given ;)
Susan in TN
A nice pen or journal. An origami set.
Chris in VA
I'd put it towards a book I want, or one of those cool leather journals. Or eat it all at the Starbucks--but that's my "problem."
Alessandra
I like buying magazines that would not otherwise be in my budget, things like a special topic issue of Fine Cooking.
school17777
Planner or a game book like Kakuro
marbel
I like buying magazines that would not otherwise be in my budget, things like a special topic issue of Fine Cooking. Oh yeah! Every now and then I just want a magazine! But they are expensive so I don't buy them. Fine Cooking would be on my list!
Stacia
A book published by an indie publisher like Archipelago Press or Europa Editions or Coffee House Press. (Basically, something that's probably not available through my library system.)
unsinkable
Alessandra and Margaret... Great suggestion! At B&N, I recently bought a Better Homes and Gardens special edition magazine set. It came with 100 Best cookies and Baking Secrets. It was $13, though and I probably wouldn't have bought it if I didn't have a gift card. Catwoman
Oh yeah! Every now and then I just want a magazine! But they are expensive so I don't buy them. Fine Cooking would be on my list! Magazines are getting crazy expensive! I was in B&N recently and they had a cool magazine that showed a bunch of different artists in their studios, and I love stuff like that, so I thought about buying it... and it was $14.99! :svengo: I mean, we're not talking about a 300 page magazine; it was just regular-sized! So I did what any fellow cheapskate would have done. I skimmed through the magazine to see all of the pictures... and then I put it back on the shelf. I would have paid $7.99. I would have thought it was overpriced at 7.99, but I would have paid that much. But 14.99? For a magazine? Nope. Not happening.
